《Jay Halstead x Reader Story/Imagine》(29. Mouch and Trudy)

Today was finally the day of Trudy's wedding. I forced Jay to wake up early so he could drive me to get my hair, makeup, and nails done.
"Babe we have to go!" I hollered at Jay, I admit I was a little stressed.
"The wedding is in 10 hours can you calm down," Jay shouted at me from the bathroom.
I charged into the bathroom where he was shaving. "Jay what if the stylist got into an accident and I have to find another one last minute? What if my dress rips when I'm getting dressed? We need to have enough time for backup plans." I rambled.
"First of all your stylist called you like 30 minutes ago and nothing is gonna happen to your dress," Jay argued rinsing his face.
"Not the point." I rolled my eyes walking to the closet to throw him a shirt and pants. "Please hurry." I ushered him.
Jay collapsed on the bed. "Ahhgggg" he grunted.
"What the hell are you doing?" I asked annoyed.
"Ahhhhgghh" he grunted louder. "I need a true love's kiss or I'll die." Jay shut his eyes tightly pretending to be passed out.
I couldn't help but smile. "You're so annoying." I dropped my things to the floor walking over to him. I was about to kiss him when he pulled me down on top of him.
"YOU LOVE ME!" Jay smothered me with kisses all over my face and neck.
Some of the spots he kissed me tickled making me laugh like a maniac. "Jay! We need to go." I yelled at him through laughter.
"Ok but tell me you love me." Jay pouted holding me tightly to his body.
"I love you, I love you 50000 round trips to infinity and beyond." I kissed his neck this time and I felt him tense up.
"Okay let's go!" Jay suddenly hopped up full of energy getting dressed quickly. He helped me up from the bed and we were on our way to the salon.

We were finally back home. We had about 4 hours before the wedding. I was keeping constantly in touch with Trudy in case she needed anything and I was also in contact with the girls from the firehouse and Kim making sure everything was perfect.
Jay had brought us some lunch so we could eat before we got dressed. "I'm sorry if I've been annoying today, I'm just so nervous. I mean I just want everything to be perfect for Trudy...after everything we've been through." I apologized to Jay.
"Hey." He took my hand. "It's okay, I know. I kinda love it when you get all bossy...it's kinda hot." Jay smirked.
My smile widened "Oh yeah?" Jay just nodded finishing his last bite. "Alright, go get dressed." I put on my serious tone from this morning.
"Yes, M'am." Jay raised his eyebrow hopping off his stool and kissing me on the cheek before walking to the bedroom.

I made sure everything was ready so that I only had to put on my dress before going. Jay was already in his suit and he was waiting for me in the living room. I finally headed to the bedroom to get dressed.
I put on my dress thinking about the day I had picked it with Trudy. I sighed nervously, looking at myself in the mirror, mentally preparing myself.
I grabbed my purse and walked out of the bedroom. "Let's go, I'm ready." I got his attention.
He got up and turned to look at me just staring at me and taking me all in. "Whoa." He whispered but it was barely audible.
"What?" I felt myself blushing slightly.
"I just..." He started walking towards me extending his arms out as if presenting me. "I feel so lucky." He had a huge smile on his face.
"Stop." I grabbed his hand walking closer to him.
"I'm dead serious..." He put his hands behind my waist pulling me into his body. "You look so beautiful and I feel so lucky to be able to call you mine." He looked into my eyes.
"You're too good to me...I love you, Jay Halstead." I hugged him while looking up at him.
"I love you more y/n y/l/n." he leaned down to give me a long passionate kiss.

We got to Molly's where the wedding was being held, I walked in and quickly greeted everyone. Kelly walked over to me admiring my outfit for a minute before kissing me on the cheek.
"You look gorgeous Bear." He complimented me.
"You look handsome as ever yourself Sev." I complimented him back.
Hermann then announced that the ceremony would be starting soon. I quickly rushed to the front of the aisle taking my bouquet and taking my position in front of the bridesmaids.
The music started playing, Trudy walked out of the back. I felt myself tear up and when she turned to look at me I saw her tear up too. "You look beautiful." I mouthed to her feeling a tear roll down my cheek.
Trudy winked at me and she patted under her eyes to stop the tears from running. I didn't even try to stop my tears from falling just feeling so happy that Trudy had finally found someone and that she was feeling like the happiest person alive right now.
She finally got to the end of the aisle, she gave me a quick kiss on the cheek telling me she loved me before turning to face Mouch.
The ceremony was beautiful and now it was time for the vows. Trudy said hers first and it was Mouchs' turn.
"Trudy, I love you because you are fierce, strong, and adventurous. I love you because you love your family as fiercely as I love mine." Mouch turned to look at me. "I love that your family has become mine, and mine has become yours." I smiled at Mouch trying to hold back tears. "You are my best friend, and I am so grateful that we are on the same team." I turned to look at Jay, he was staring straight into my eyes. "You are the love of my life and you make me happier than I could ever imagine and more loved than I ever thought possible. You make me unbelievably proud and I promise that I will make you proud as your husband. I vow to listen to you and to learn from you. I vow to value our differences just as much as I value our common grounds. I vow to put all my effort into strengthening our marriage and giving you the best version of Mouch I can be. Trudy on good days or bad days I'll love you forever." Mouch finished wiping a few tears away.

I was tearing up, the words resonating with me. "I love you." Jay mouthed to me from the seats.
I wiped a few tears away myself. "I love you more." I mouthed back to him.
Mouch and Trudy were finally married and everyone cheered. We all began passing drinks celebrating. I quickly changed into a shorter dress for the rest of the evening.
We were dancing and Trudy was going to throw her bouquet before she too switched to a shorter dress for the evening. She turned to count down. All of us girls standing behind her, our hands extended to catch them.
Trudy threw the bouquet, except she threw it harder than expected, everyone turned and the bouquet had landed in Jay's arms. The guys cheered for him patting him in the back while the girls all clapped for me as well cheering us on.
Jay shimmied his way over to me. "I guess the Lord has spoken." Jay shrugged pursing his lips handing me the bouquet.
"I guess so." I took the bouquet but then put my arms around his neck and we started swaying to a slow song that started playing.
Everyone else also coupled up and we began to dance. I rested my head on Jay's chest letting him guide me through the dance floor. "Thanks for being my person," Jay whispered in my ear.
I looked up at him. "Thank you for being mine." he leaned down to kiss the top of my head.
"May I?" Kelly walked up to us asking Jay.
"Alright, but not for long man okay?" Jay joked letting go of me, I saw him ask Kim to dance since she was sitting on her own.
Kelly took my hand and placed a hand around my waist beginning to dance with me. "Hi." I smiled.
"Hey." He answered smiling too.
"This is amazing, isn't it. Despite all the gruesome things we all see every day...moments like these are what makes it all worth it." I told him.
"I'm really glad you're happy." Kelly couldn't wipe the smile off his face.
"Yeah...me too." I sighed.
Kelly and I danced two songs before we heard a sharp noise making us hiss. We all turned and saw Hermann had set up a microphone passing the mic to Trudy.
"First of all I want to thank everyone for being here today, you all know Mouch and I went through some rough patches trying to get to this wedding but all together we made it. Now, when I thought about my wedding I had two very important things I wanted to happen apart from marrying the man I love." Trudy sighed and I could tell she was fighting back tears. "I wanted to have a father-daughter dance." her voice broke and I began tearing up too. "But as you all know my father is up there watching me instead. So then the second thing I wanted, was a mother-daughter dance." Trudy locked eyes with me.
I started walking towards her. She passed the mic back to Hermann and he played play on a song. In My Daughter's Eyes by Martina McBride started playing making me shed a few tears instantly. ()
Trudy and I put our arms around each other, our foreheads pressed together as we began dancing. "I love you, Mah," I whispered.
"I love you too honey." She hugged me harder.
Once the song was fading out Mouch had come up to us asking me to dance with him. Trudy then walked over to Jay asking to dance with him too which took me by surprise but I knew deep down how much appreciation Trudy had for him despite the fact that she liked poking fun at him.
My cheeks hurt by morning from not being able to stop smiling the whole night, just feeling completely grateful for the family I had formed. Jay and I took our turns dancing with everyone but made sure that by the end of the night we both had danced most of the songs together.
"When we get married we're doing it at the beach," Jay spoke after we had sat down to have a drink.
"Oh yeah?" I laughed.
"Yeah, by the end of the night we'll have a bonfire. Will is gonna sing for us playing his guitar, Kev will be holding Ruz so he won't tumble into the fire, Mouse is gonna do the greatest best man speech of all time, I'll be holding you next to me the whole time finally at peace knowing that you'll be mine for the rest of my life." I could see Jay picturing it.
"You've planned it all out huh?" he finally looked down at me.
"Ever since the day I met you yeah..." Jay admitted.
I didn't know what to say, once more my smile went from ear to ear. I stared at Jay just thinking about how lucky I was to be with a guy who adored me so much. I gave him a quick kiss before leaning my head against his shoulder finally feeling the exhaustion of dancing in heels all day.
