Jay and I had been called to a scene involving a home burglary, except it wasn't any regular home burglary since not only was the family home at the time, but they all slept through it.

Jay and I had waited outside for a few minutes while the guys from 51 checked the house for gas leaks that might have caused the sleeping family.

Kelly walked out, taking his mask off and walking towards us. "Anything come up?" Jay asked him.

"Something came up, our numbers registered a really high dose of nitrous gas," Kelly told us.

"Laughing gas?" I recognized the name.

"Yeah, more commonly used in dental clinics, except this dose was much higher which caused the family to sleep right through the burglary." He explained.

"Is it safe to go in?" Jay asked him.

"Yeah, gas is mostly gone, might feel light headed but that's all, just keep the windows and doors open for ventilation." He gave us the ok.

"Thanks, Kel," I said patting him on the chest as I walked past him and into the bulding.

"See you later Bear, see ya, Jay." He waved goodbye.

"You never told me why he calls you that," Jay mentioned as we began walking into the building.

"Yeah well, you never asked," I answered back turning to give him a forced smile, he slowed down but I kept walking at the same pace.

He sped up to catch up to me. "Ok wait so why does he call you that?" He then asked me.

I sighed and turned to face him giving him a 'really?' look. "Ok, so when Shay died I was over at Kelly's a lot, we spent a lot of time together, and no not the way you're thinking but I was just there for him so Kelly used to say a lot that I was like his Care Bear," I explained waiting to see what he had to say.

"Oh." That was all he said. "Okay, that's actually really sweet." He admitted.

I scoffed and kept walking. Not long after Jay and I had started looking for evidence around the house when the rest of the team arrived. I quickly told them the information Kelly had given us about the nitrous gas before Hank told us to spread out. He asked Erin and me to check the daughters' bedroom.

We walked in and started looking around finding a couple of tossed things here and there. I then pulled back the cover from the bed seeing blood spattered on the lower part of the bed. "Erin," I called her and she quickly switched her attention to where I was looking.

"I really hope it's not what we think." She gave me a sad look which I returned.

Erin decided to go talk to the young girl while I let the rest of the team know about our horrible discovery. This only drove everyone to work harder to solve this case and catch the people involved in it.

After doing some digging on the case we found out that this wasn't the first time this kind of thing had happened in other states but it looked as though we were the only ones who had made the connection.

We were all working in the office trying to find more leads when Erin came back letting us know she had a lead. This guy name Spencer had been buying nitrous gas in large quantities and he was gonna be at a party tonight which we had access to thanks to Erin.

"Ok, we'll go undercover. Jay, y/n as a couple, Kim, Atwater you'll spread around. Understood?" He instructed.

"Yes, Sarge." We all agreed.

"Good, now go get ready." He waved us off.

I went to the locker rooms to get ready with Kim after we had gotten our outfits. In case I had to run I had opted for a white laced sheer top with white high-waisted pants and I decided to keep my hair down.

Once Kim and I were ready we walked out to the rest of the team in the garage.

We both turned when we heard Antonio whistle making us both smirk and shake our heads at him.

Jay came up to me. "Damn, you are making it so hard to keep my hands to myself right now." He said looking me up and down before his eyes stopped at my cleavage making me laugh.

"Eyes up here babe." I lifted his head up and he smirked keeping his eyes on mine now.

"Ok let's get going!" Hank told us and we all walked to get into our cars.

Once we'd arrived at the party Jay and I sat at the bar while Kim and Kevin walked around the rest of the building for any sign of Spencer. Jay and I acted casual while still keeping an eye out.

"Hey beautiful, care to join me for a dance." A guy walked up to me extending his hand out and looking me up and down, biting his lip in the process.

I acted stupid laughing at his offer. "No thank you, I'm here with my boyfriend." I kept laughing while pointing at Jay.

"Oh don't worry girl, he won't mind." He insisted stepping closer.

"Oh but I will." Jay stepped up between the guy and me. "I definitely will." He said putting on a fake smile.

"Alright my bad, lucky guy." The guy stepped away and left.

I gave Jay a discrete wink when he sat back down and I saw him let out an angry sigh. Erin's friend then came to fetch me, pointing out Spencer who was quickly moving through the crowd. I made my way back to Jay keeping an eye on the guy.

We both got up and started following discretely, so he wouldn't run and also alerted Kevin and Kim. They, however, let us know that they had been distracted by an overdose they had to take care of so it was down to Jay and me.

We were getting close to Spencer when he realized what was happening and made a run for it. Jay and I quickly started chasing after him, Jay and I went separate ways. I then found myself outside and placed myself at the other entrance.

Just then I saw spencer and Jay running down the stairs before Spencer pushed his way through the crowd. I placed myself ready to tackle him but just before I was able to Spencer had stuck his elbow out striking me in the chest, right between my breasts, causing me to fall back into the pool but not before I dragged him in with me.

I quickly pushed myself off the floor of the pool coming up for air but I wasn't able to take any in. I rubbed my eyes and opened them to see Jay had Spencer handcuffed. I started gasping for air feeling that an immense amount of pain in my chest.

"You alright." I heard Kim behind me.

"Yeah, just winded me." I lifted a thumbs up to her. Kevin pulled Spencer out of the water before Jay swam over to me, I placed a hand on my chest trying to slow down my breathing.

"Hey, you good?" Jay asked me grabbing my hand and removing it off my chest taking a look at the injury. "It's really red, it's definitely gonna bruise," Jay said placing his hand on my chest now where the injury was before giving me a kiss on the forehead.

He grabbed my waist and in one motion pulled me out of the water sitting me on the edge of the pool. As he hopped out I saw Antonio behind me and he placed his hands under my armpits helping me up.

Once we were back at the district the pain on my chest didn't seem to go away and every time I breathed it hurt but I just brushed it off thinking it was nothing but a bad bruise.

Just when we thought we were getting somewhere when Spencer was being questioned we got word that there had been another burglary that fit the pattern of the ones we were investigating.

In this burglary, Tawny Darren's recounted the same experience as the young girl who had been sexually assaulted with tests confirming this. Erin and I had wanted to further talk to the women so we went back to the hospital only to find out she had left before doctors discharged her.

We decided to track her down and we made our way over to her location. She let us in and we began questioning her about a description of the guys who attacked her. All of a sudden I saw a guy behind Erin holding a long object but before I could react or even say anything I felt a blow to my head and everything went black.

I woke up and realized I was tied inside a closet, I tried screaming but I had cloth inside my mouth and tape over it. I tried taking deep breaths feeling like I couldn't properly breathe while looking around for any way out.

As I looked around I heard Erin yelping outside. I started tossing around and trying to kick before I heard a gunshot making me jump and assume the worst. I stayed silent waiting for anything else to happen.

"y/n! Get her! She's in there!" I heard Erin's voice and I felt a huge wave of relief flood over me.

The door slid open and I saw Jay standing there, I extended my hands out and he grabbed me and lifted me out of there. Erin helped him untying me and removing the tape off my mouth allowing me to breathe once again.

"Are you okay?" I asked Erin getting up to hug her.

"I'm fine, you're head." She said placing her hand on my head showing me blood coming out of it.

"Yours too," I said doing the same to her.

We walked outside where a paramedic bandaged our wounds and stopped the bleeding letting us know we would be ok and it wasn't a life-threatening injury.

Tawny then walked outside in handcuffs, I was standing next to Erin and she charged forward to her, telling her what a monster she was and what she had done to that poor girl. Tawny spat on her face.

"Hell no you don't!" I yelled throwing a punch straight at her nose before I felt someone grab me stopping me from carrying on.

"Hey hey hey, you alright?" Antonio had grabbed me. I lifted my hands up defensively.

"Yep, I'm fine, I just wanna get out of here," I said walking back to the car. Jay joining me shortly after.

We drove home and I managed to cool down, just feeling angry at how people like Tawny walked on earth. Jay ran a bath for me when we got home helping me feel better even though I was still in pain from that blow to my chest.
