《Jay Halstead x Reader Story/Imagine》(16. Jeff Frazier)

Jay and I were back at work. We took it easy for the first couple of days back but soon enough we were back in action, finding ourselves in crossfires. We were solving a low emergency case so we were all mostly doing paperwork.
As usual I started getting pretty hungry so I decided to head downstairs.
"D'you want anything from the vending machine? I quietly asked Jay.
"No thanks." He smiled at me.
"Ok I'll be right back." I quickly leaned down to kiss him without anyone noticing.
Once I got downstairs the front office was a complete mess, there were so many people there shouting over each other. I noticed Trudy was super stressed trying to attend to everyone.
I walked over to the vending machine and bought a bag of crips. I was walking back when Trudy called me over.
"What's up" I asked her but she simply grabbed my food. I shrugged and scoffed but forgot about it when I noticed she was trying to calm a guy who's daughter was missing.
"Sir, she's 18 years old?" Trudy confirmed with the man.
"Well yes but-" Mouse had walked up to the counter asking Trudy for something. A guy also desperate for Trudy's attention then knocked the man who's daughter was missing's papers on the floor.
"Hey! Watch it!" I raised my voice at the man kneeling down to help the guy.
"Thank you." Was all he said as he got back up to talk to Trudy.
I was about to walk over to grab another bag of chips when all of a sudden I felt a tight grip around my throat and a thick metal object pressed hard against my head.
I heard a couple yelps and screams. But looked up to see all of the officers pointing their guns at whoever was holding me.
"SIR PUT THE GUN DOWN!" Trudy yelled at the man.
"Sir you don't have to do this." I tried communicating with the man trying to keep calm. .
"SHUT UP! I WON'T LET YOU GO! NOT UNTIL YOU FIND MY DAUGHTER!" He yelled back. "MY NAME IS JEFF FRAZIER, EVERYTHING IS THERE! FIND HER." He threw a duffle bag forward.
"Sir, take me. I'm higher in ranking." Mouse started lying.
"No-" I tried stopping him
"SHUT UP!" The man screamed at me again.

"Sir you won't get your daughter back with her, just grab me instead. Look I have nothing on me." Mouse spun and lifted his shirt slightly to show he had nothing.
I looked into Mouse's eyes begging him to stop. I then heard people coming down the stairs. Frazier turned slightly allowing me to see the team had made it downstairs and were now also pointing their guns at the man.
"Sir you need to let her go." Voight began speaking to the man.
"EVERYONE SHUT UP!" he shouted again. "You! Come here." He shouted to Mouse and he slowly approached. "Walk backwards with me slowly and then I'll take you for her." He whispered to Mouse.
"I felt myself being pulled backwards but before we made it fully into the downstairs office Frazier in one swift move had pushed me forward and grabbed Mouse.
I fell forward but quickly got back up. He walked back with Mouse towards the empty downstairs office. I locked eyes with Mouse, he gave me a gesture letting me know he was ok before the man shut the door.
"Hey, you okay?" Trudy had come around to me making me jump slightly.
"I'm fine, let's find this man's daughter." I said leaning forward to grab the duffle bag he had thrown.
I started walking towards the steps. "Y/n you good?" Hank asked me using his serious tone.
"Sarge I'm fine I just want to get Mouse out of there." I told him feeling angry at Mouse for what he had done.
"Ok, let's go." Hank and the rest of the team started walking back upstairs but Jay held me back.
He didn't say anything put instead but his hands on my cheeks holding my face gently. "I'm fine." I looked up at him but he could tell I was upset and feeling guilty.
"He can handle himself." He told me before pulling me in for a hug.
I let out a deep sigh before pulling out of the hug. "Ok let's go solve this." I told him finally heading upstairs.

We started investigating straight away with everything Frazier had given us. We could all admit that this case proved bigger than we expected, we ended up finding several caged women who had been tortured with a chimney poker.
We were able to interrogate the girls that we found and they were able to give us some information on Sarah but we were still having a hard time finding her.

We brought one of the women in who knew Sarah, and we were hoping we could use her to draw out Frazier and Mouse.
We all set up downstairs. Jay had set up on the steps for the perfect shot while I stood with the girl and Hank tried speaking to Frazier.
"Mr. Frazier, we have someone out here who knows your daughter." He spoke loudly
A couple of minutes later the door opened and he came out still holding Mouse at gun point. I saw Jay and Mouse make immediate eye contact.
"I'll only talk to her." Frazier said pointing at me. I noticed Jay shift uncomfortably.
"Ok that's fine." I reassured Hank.
"Mr. Frazier you were right, something did happen to your daughter. This woman, she knows Sarah, she was with her for a while." I started making conversation.
"How do I know you're not lying to get me to let him go?" He asked me.
Frazier ended up talking to the woman and we all watched as he lowered his guard a little. Hank was speaking to Frazier and I turned to face Jay, he gesture for me to keep Frazier looking my way.
"Mr.Frazier we think Sarah is alive and we're close to finding her, you just have to give us more time and-" I didn't finish before Mouse had spun and grabbed the gun from Frazier allowing the S.W.A.T team to approach and arrest him.
I walked forward and took Frazier's gun from Mouse before giving him a hug. "You okay?" I asked him.
"Yeah I'm fine." Mouse sighed with relief.
"What took you so long?" Jay walked to us and hugged Mouse as well.
We were able to successfully find Sarah and get her home safe. The case was pretty heavy on everyone so they decided to head to Molly's. Jay asked me to stay back with him and Mouse downstairs.
———————-
I sat on Jay's lap and Mouse brought us both a beer.
"Mouse, you shouldn't have done what you did. But thank you." I got up to give him a hug.
"It was the right thing to do." Was all he said while we hugged.
"It was stupid but it was brave." I admitted.
"You alright though?" I asked Jay and Mouse sitting back down on Jay's lap.
"All good here." Mouse replied lifting his beer up in a cheers manner.
"Pretty well why?" Jay asked with his usual smirk.
"Well you're best friend and girlfriend did get held at gun point." I stroked Jay's hair.
"Yeah well, I was worried but I knew Mouse could handle it." He shrugged it off shooting a smile to Mouse.
"Mhm." I hummed a little unconvinced at his carefree attitude.
"Mhm" Jay playfully mocked me leaning forward to kiss me.
"I hate you." I laughed shoving him lightly and attempting to get up.
"No you don't, you love me." Jay said in a playful cocky tone pulling me back down and holding me tighter.
"Shut up." I laughed "but I do." I leaned forward this time to kiss him.
"You guys are icky." Mouse laughed making me blush and Jay throw his beer cap at his friend.
"How about you Mouse? Anyone special in your life?" I asked him.
"Not yet. But I hope I can find something as special as what you guys have. I'm happy for you man." Mouse leaned forward and patted Jay's shoulder.
"Yeah, I hope you find something like this too." Jay locked eyes with me just smiling.
"Ugh, you guys are icky." I poked fun at them when I started to blush making us all laugh.
After chatting for a while and Mouse showing us the bullets he took out from the gun Frazier was using against him and I, Jay and I decided to call it a day and head home.
In the car Jay barely said a word and I could tell he had something on his mind.
We got to my place and sat down on the couch as usual. "Hey, you sure you're okay?" I asked Jay as he sighed loudly.
"Babe I'm fine." He shrugged me off.
"You know you can talk to me right, I won't think any less of you for opening up." I assured him.
"Honestly, I'm fine. I'm gonna hop in the shower, I'll meet you in bed." He got up and headed to the bathroom before I could say anything else.
