《Everything Inbetween Bones [BxB] ✓》Chapter 9

A/N: Hey, so I felt like writing and I figure after like, a month of not writing, everyone who reads this just deserves another chapter as soon as possible. I hope you all enjoy it. I chose 'I found' by Amber Run as the song this week, I just like it, so here you go, have it. Anyways, I hope everyone had an amazing christmas or holiday if you celebrate something else.
After lunch, the day seemed to slow to an almost unbearable rate. Logan was cold and hungry and tired, he'd barely eaten in three days and he was starting to feel it, though he wasn't about to tell anyone that, nor was he about to eat just because his body wanted him to. When he had started dieting, he'd decided not to indulge cravings (cravings always lead to binging if you listen to them), then he only ate when he was really hungry, then he stopped eating when it wasn't scheduled. He found that the way to have the most control was to not listen to his body at all, if he didn't, he could decide exactly when, how much, where, why, and what to eat. He didn't have to eat anything if he didn't want to, though he knew he did need fuel, so he looked at food as fuel and nothing else, that way he couldn't be obsessed with it. He couldn't have a bad relationship with food if he didn't have any relationship with it.
"Hey, how was your day?" He spun around to see Sy.
"Hey, it was good. Have you seen Ivy?"
"What? You don't like my company?" He asked with a grin and Logan rolled his eyes with a small smile.
"I just want to talk to her about something."
"Tyler took her home a little bit ago." He said, leaning against Logan's locker.
"Early?"
"Nah, it was right after class ended though, they had research to do for a project and you know how he is with time."
"Alright. How was your day?" Logan asked.
"Good, did you get the form filled out for the play?"
"Yeah, I did, Oliver's also thinking about joining."
"What, are you two dating now or something?" Sy asked, Logan blushed.
"No." He said, biting the inside of his cheek.
"Hey, has Jace been bothering you still?" Logan shook his head with a little smile.
"Not much, he kind of just glares at me now." liarliarliar
"Alright, good, he better keep it that way." Sy said with a little smile. "I'll see you tomorrow, stick." He said and Logan nodded.
The red-haired boy walked to the library, sitting down at one of the tables and pulling out his laptop, he needed to get some research done for the project and the library was best for working, he'd just catch the late bus home at 5:00 pm.
He'd only really started working when he heard a voice that sent a chill up his spine.
"Hey, Fag, thought I'd find you here." Jace. Logan kept his head down and took a breath.
"I'll have the project done by tomorrow, I promise." He said, not looking at Jace, but he knew he was hovering over the place where Logan was sitting.

"That's not what I'm talking about. What the fuck is going on with you and Oliver?" His voice was cold, almost angry and if Logan didn't know better he'd think maybe jealousy.
Jace grabbed his shirt by the collar and pulled him to his feet roughly.
"Did you hear me? I said, what. the. fuck. is going on. with. you. two?" His eyes were full of rage and Logan noticed then that they were in a part of the library shielded from the librarians or cameras.
"I- n-nothing, I swear, w-we're just talking, he took me home one night because I couldn't find a ride and then I did his homework to pay him back for it."
"That's not what he told me." Shit. "He told me that he's signing up for the play because of you. You turning my best friend into a fag, bitch?" So it was insecurity then, he was scared of Oliver leaving. "ARE YOU?"
"N-No." Logan said quickly, he didn't want to be in bed for another 2 days with bruises. Jace backed Logan up against a bookshelf and wrapped his fingers around his thin neck, his fingers squeezing hard enough to cut off Logan's breathing.
"Good, then you'll have no problem with not talking to him, and declining rides from him, and asking him not to join the goddamn musical." Why was Jace acting like a possessive boyfriend?
"O-Ok-ay." He choked out, thin fingers clawing at Jace's large hand. "P-leas-e, j-jace." His words struggled to come out.
Jace finally let him go and the smaller boy slid to the floor, nearly passing out as tears welled in his eyes. Jace gave a kick to Logan's shin and he curled of tighter.
"I'll see you later, mouse." He said with a small smirk, walking away from the trembling boy.
Logan looked in the bathroom mirror and gently touched his fingers to the bruise on his neck, biting his lip as he adjusted his sweater to cover as much as it could. He walked out of the bathroom and grabbed his backpack, he needed to leave quickly if he wanted to catch the late bus. He'd gotten some good research done after Jace left and had almost gotten his mind off of it until he went to the bathroom and saw the bruise as he was washing his hands. He wanted to puke when he saw it. What would his dads say? He couldn't wear turtle necks for weeks until it healed. He could, however, drive to the store and pick up some foundation and concealer to cover it up. He got on the bus and sat by the window, putting his earbuds in, blasting the music until the static in his head was drowned out. He watched the scenery roll past outside his window until the bus stopped in his neighborhood and he got out, walking to his house and pulling out his house key. He then grabbed his car keys and drove off to the drugstore

A few hours later, he was almost halfway through the essay and it'd probably only take another three or four hours more to finish, he needed to get it done before tomorrow when it was due. He paused a moment when he heard his phone ding.

Logan paused a moment, thinking about Jace's words and the rage in his eyes.
He bit his lip, staring at his phone. Oliver could protect him from Jace, he knew he could, but what if he didn't believe Logan when he told him or he didn't care or Jace convinced him to be mean to Logan too or NotgoodenoughNotgoodenoughNotgoodenoughNotgoodenough. He pulled his fingers through his hair and took a breath in, swallowing thickly and waiting for the thoughts to go away even though he knew they wouldn't. Maybe Jace wouldn't have to know and he wouldn't tell Oliver.
"Hey." Oliver said, his voice sounding tired when Logan opened the door
"Hey." Logan said, letting him inside.
"I'm really sorry, I know your busy, and I shouldn't have made you feel like you have to let me over-"
"You didn't, I'm happy to hang out with you." Logan said, a small smile on his face. It'd taken a little while to figure out how to effectively cover up the bruise, but now it looked like it'd never happened.
"So we're doing a project?" Oliver asked with a little smile.
"Yeah, Jace is my partner, but I got dumped with all the work last minute." He said with a small laugh.
"Lazy ass." Oliver said jokingly with a shake of his head. "but I'm here now, so I can help."
"Cool." Logan said with a bright smile as he led Oliver up to his room.
It was a small room painted in cool gray with white carpet and yellow accents. Yellow really was his favorite color. The bedspread was a pastel yellow, so was his beanbag chair, and the chair for his desk. Otherwise, the room was light gray, or silver, or white.
"It's not huge or anything, but I like working in here." He said, sitting down on his bed.
"Dude, this is like, twice the size of my room, don't start with that shit." Oliver said with a chuckle, looking at Logan's bookcase.
"Do you want to start with the project then?" Logan asked and Oliver nodded.
"What can I do?"
"Maybe do the citations for the book and the websites I used for research." He said and Oliver nodded, taking the list of websites and pulling out his own computer.
"What's up with you?" Oliver asked casually and Logan looked at him.
"What?"
"You just seem.. tenser than you did earlier. Did something happen?"
"No." He said quickly.
"Alright." Oliver said, his tone not confirming that he believed it.
"Are you okay?" Logan asked and Oliver shrugged.
"Why?"
"You only ever used to ask to come over when things were bad at your house." Logan said and Oliver paused a moment, maybe considering his answer.
"My um..I found out my brother's coming home." He let out a small breath.
"From jail?" Logan asked quietly and Oliver nodded.
"Dad's not happy about it. I left before he drank too much, but I'm gonna find a hotel to stay at later, I can't go home tonight." He said and Logan bit his lip.
"You could..stay here. I mean, I'm pretty sure my dads will say yes, they love you." He said and Oliver smiled a little.
"You're the best, bear." He said and Logan blushed, smiling. He hadn't heard that name in forever. It started after a phase he went through where he'd wear a bear onsie constantly, it was his favorite item of clothing in his closet and he still had it but it was embarrassing.
"Shhush, I told you not to call me that." He giggled.
"But you get so embarrassed, it's adorable, and your face gets red and you get all giggly. I swear, it'll forever be the cutest thing I've ever seen." He said, ruffling Logan's curls. The smaller boy smiled and only blushed a brighter red.
"You're so mean to me." He giggled, laying on his bed and Oliver rolled his eyes.
"You make it too easy." He said, sitting up and continuing his work as Logan went on typing. It would get done twice as fast with Oliver there to help.
an hour and a half later, they were nearing the end of the project and were exchanging small bits of conversation back and forth every few minutes, a joke or a tease and then a comeback, they were just having fun and being in eachother's company. Logan almost forgot what it was like to be on bad terms with Oliver, he didn't know how he'd survived the last two years without him there to share inside jokes or small smiles.
"We should do this more often." Oliver said and Logan nodded.
"Remember when we had sleepovers all the time."
"Oh, and truth or dare."
"Or three hour monopoly games."
"Remember that time you fell asleep on the board?" Oliver asked with a chuckle.
"Oh, and the time we were picking apples and you fell out of the tree." Logan giggled.
"Hey, I could have been seriously injured!" Oliver said back with a laugh.
"Oooh, poor you."
"Seriously, I could have sprained my ankle if I hadn't ninja-rolled into the grass." Oliver laughed and so did Logan.
"I told you not to get up on that branch but nooo, you just had to prove to me that you were a professional tree climber."
"I was, then I make one mistake and you're an insensitive prick about it." Oliver teased.
"Am not."
"Short too."
"Son of a bitch." Logan giggled and Oliver raised an eyebrow with a grin on his face. Logan crossed his arms and looked back at him challengingly.
"You really want to say that, Pierce?"
"I think I just did, Cross."
"I didn't want to have to make things physical, but you leave me no choice." Oliver sighed and then grabbed Logan's sides and the smaller boy squeaked and giggled as Oliver dug his fingers into Logan's ribs.
"W-Waihait! Oli! S-st-ahppit!" He giggled, trying to jerk away, but Oliver just straddled his waist and moved his hands under the boy's sweater, smirking as he tickled him.
"No, I'm still offended, you must pay for your sins against me." He grinned.
"I'm sohorry." He giggled, pushing at Oliver's hands. Oliver just chuckled and stopped, looking down at Logan with a fondness in his eyes. He glanced from the smaller boy's eyes to his lips, taking in his cute nose and red face, the redhead panting quietly. His gaze followed his soft jawline down his neck until he looked with curiosity turned to concern at a dark red mark at the base near his collarbone.
"What's that?"
