It took everything in my power not to fall to my knees when the realization hit me that Edward was not with the rest of the men. I could hear Benedict asking questions. "Where's mh' boy at? Where's Eddy?"

It was like a dream, everyone stopped, looking over their shoulders like they were waiting for someone else to answer.

"He survived the battle." Someone said, coming up to Benedict, and it stung because of course, they would go to him. I was nothing to Edward, nothing but his boss to those around us.

"He was with us for most of the trip. We stopped at Middle Hill to gather barings. He was with us then too. But about 10 minutes after we left we realized he was not with us anymore, we sent two men back but we lost him, We also lost and two other men in the battle. I'm sorry Ser Benedict."

"Send more men out to find him," I cut in, walking towards them, pushing one knight form the way. "Why did you leave him — them behind? What kind of men are you?"

"My Lord — "

"I thought it was leave no man behind?"

"Now, stop that." My father's voice bombed from behind me, putting a hand on my shoulder. "Calm yourself." I glared at my feet, my stomach jumping with the hate bubbling in the men for even coming home without living, breathing, men from their team. "We will send a search out when the men are rested. Edward is well versed to fend for himself."

I looked up at my father, before scoffing and walking away, leaving the men in the clearing and entering the castle once again finding myself in the back garden. I could feel myself shaking, my arms wrapping around my body, but it was nill. I still shook. No tears were in my eyes, but I could feel myself building into rage, sadness.

"Sir." I heard from behind. I turned to see Alexander standing there, I hiccuped, there was a moment of silence before he walked towards me, and hesitantly wrapped his arms around my shoulder, my head falling into his neck as I let out the first sob. But I was thankful he was there because I needed somebody at that moment to hold me while my mind tried to figure out what was happening.

"I'll leave at midnight," I stated, standing in my chambers with Tsar and Alexander.

"Are you mad?! You will not" Tsar argued, his arms folded as he stood in front of the chamber door.

"You are either with me or against me in this."

"Sir, he is right, that is extream. You hardly know how to dress yourself without a hand, let alone travel alone on horseback, you don't even know where Edward went missing was. It could be days before you find the spot. Or worse, get ambushed and killed yourself."

I sighed, slouching on the chair I sat in. He was right, there was no use. Unless I had men with me there was no reason for me to even think about going into the wild. "Then what do I do?"

"You wait, Edward will me home my lord. There is no reason to worry yourself sick."

"Alex is right." Tsar agreed, his hands falling from his side. "You're a prince, you can't just ride off and never be seen again."

I nodded my head, and soon both men left my chambers, and I stood up, looking from the window my eyes scanning the distance. I bit on my lip.

Enough, enough of these silly tears, if I was to see Edward again. — and I will see him again.

I would need to stop this childishness. It was time to man up, time learns more about the outside world. And less about the music and books inside the castle.

It started the next morning. I dressed myself before anyone could come to the chambers to wake me. I wore breachers suited for riding, before walking to the stables.

Danny and Ronald were both already awake, Ronald was feeding a horse while Danny placed new bedding. "Eh my lord!" Ronald said, jumping up and then bending to his knee. I waved him up, and he quickly patted himself down. "What brings yea here on this fin' morin' my lord?"

"I've come to ask for a favour from you both. If you promise not to speak of it to anybody." Both boys looked at each other before nodding their heads.

"Then let us begin boys."
