"I-uh you're right we aren't," I say blinking a few times fast before exiting the bathroom causing her to follow me into my room.
"Again not that I was planning on doing anything, I was just saying that being exclusive got lost in translation," she says with hesitation.
Planning?
Do you plan that sort of thing?
I nod quickly before grabbing my pool bag from my closet.
"No you're right I don't even know why I said that," I say as I fake laugh and she tilts her head slightly at me before I head for the door.
I feel her warm hand gently grip my wrist before pulling me back to her causing her hazel eyes to lock with mine.
"Baby please communicate with me. Remember what we promised?" she asks and my brain flashes back to the breakfast we had where we promised to always communicate.
She's right.
I'm pushing her away as a defense mechanism.
"Yeah, I'm sorry I guess I feel embarrassed for thinking we're exclusive," I say honestly and Jordy nods before pulling me into a tight hug.
"We can be if that's what you want, but don't do it to feel secure with me. You need to trust me before we can move forward into any of that," she says as we pull out of the embrace allowing her comforting eyes to meet mine.
I nod knowing she's right, "Let's see how we feel after this trip and we'll determine if we can be exclusive," I offer and she nods.
"two days and three nights," she says and I nod before exhaling a breath.
I clap my hands together, "Alright pool party time," I say excitingly causing Jordy to smile.
"I have to go finish packing so I'll just follow behind you back to my place," She says and I nod before we both leave my room.
We make it down the stairs and I tell Jordy to wait outside for me while I talk to my mom. Once she goes outside I head into the kitchen. I see her sitting on the couch watching tv causing me to walk further into the open-concept living space.
"Good morning," I say earning her attention causing her to rise from the couch before walking toward me.
"Good morning," she repeats back with a smile.
"so Jordy stayed over last night hm?" she asks with a smirk and I shake my head as we both walk into the kitchen.
I sit down at the kitchen island as she grabs a bottle of water, "So..." I trail off causing her to eye me suspiciously.
"I'm going to Miami with Journee and our friends this Saturday. We would be staying at her parent's condo and we'd be there for a little over two weeks," I say filling my mom in considering I'm eighteen and have my own free will.

"Over two weeks? I'll miss you Bri," my mom says as she opens her water, and I flash her a small smile.
"How can you not?" I ask jokingly and she rolls her eyes at me as I rise from my seat.
"I'm headed to Journee's for this pool party, and then I have my lash appointment, so I should be back closer to eight," I say as I head to the front door.
"How about dinner and a movie when you get back?" she asks and I nod quickly agreeing.
"Sounds perfect, love you," I say as I open the front door causing her to say it back.
I head out into the summer heat as I check my phone seeing it's 12:07 PM. Journee shouldn't be mad that I'm a few minutes late. I see Jordy seated in her car and she rolls the window down as I unlock my Cadillac.
"Ready?" she asks and I nod quickly before getting into my car.
I roll down my windows and open my sunroof in an attempt to let the heat out before heading to Journee's pool party.
Jordy follows behind me until we pull up to her house.
I park and exit my car, and I notice cars littering the street causing my eyebrows to furrow.
"I didn't realize she was having a big party?" I ask Jordy as she locks her car and walks toward me.
"Me either. You look way too good to be at an actual pool party," She compliments me and I smile shyly before heading towards the door.
"C'mon we should probably head in," I say to her as she follows behind me.
We enter the big house seeing that the inside is empty, but the outside is littered with people.
We hear people conversing causing us to both walks further into the house.
I see Maya and Alex harshly whispering with one another, but they immediately stop and turn to us once we enter the room.
I feel my heart drop to my stomach as Alex's icy blue eyes lock with mine. J
Jordy immediately walks in front of me to block my view from her.
I feel my hands start shaking which leads up to my arms.
Calm down Bri. Breathe.
Breathe.
Breathe.
I attempt to calm myself down, but all that runs through my head is that night at the lake party.
All the hurt and confusion fill me once again causing me to reach out for Jordy.
I grip the back of her shirt not caring who sees, which causes her to turn to face me.
"What's going on in here?" I hear Journee's voice causing my glossy eyes to meet hers.
She looks at Alex and Maya before a glare is placed on her face.

"What are you guys doing here?" she asks as anger laces in her voice.
"I just wanted to speak to Bri-"
"You don't get to speak to her. Leave." she orders them causing them to immediately stiffen before heading past Jordy and me to the front door.
I look in the opposite direction from them as they both walk out without a fight.
The front door shuts causing Journee to quickly walk over to me, "Are you okay?" she asks as she pulls me into a hug.
"I had no idea they were coming I swear," she says with regret as we pull out of the hug.
"No idea Journee? Next time watch who comes into the party," Jordy snaps at her causing Journee's perfect brows to furrow.
"How was I supposed to know they snuck in?" she asks and Jordy lets out a huff.
"If you're in charge of a party then you should be watching who comes in. Imagine a stranger walking into our house? Then what?" Jordy's voice rises with more irritation and Journee looks completely taken aback.
"I'm-I'm sorry okay I didn't realize," Journee's weak voice admits and I see Jordy's irritation fade into regret.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to snap. I-uh I'm just gonna head upstairs to pack," she says lowly as she exits the open living area quickly causing Journee to look towards me.
"I'll be out in a few, I just need a second," I admit, and Journee nods quickly.
"Of course I get it," she says before she heads back out to the pool.
I head upstairs before lightly knocking on Jordy's tall white door.
I hear a brief 'come in' causing me to push it open.
I see Jordy standing over her bed packing all of her laid-out clothes into her suitcase.
I close the door before walking further into the room and sitting on a cleared spot on the bed.
"I don't even feel like I should go anymore," she says and my eyes snap towards her in confusion.
"Why?" I ask and she walks over to me, standing between my legs.
"Are you okay? Be honest," she asks and I nod quickly while looking at the light brown wood floors that lay under my feet.
"Brielle look at me please," she says and I immediately look up into her caramel eyes.
I feel tears flood my vision causing Jordy's hand to gently caress my face.
"I'm okay, It's just a lot of past memories and hurt kind of just came out of nowhere. It was just overwhelming that's all," I say trying to be as open as possible even if it's really hard for me.
"I just don't want to leave you like this," she says gently and I shake my head before weakly smiling at her.
"I'll be fine, go have fun with your friends," I say and she tilts her head at me.
"I'm serious, you're going Jor," I say and she huffs before walking back over to her suitcase.
"But I can't-"
"It's not up for discussion," I interrupt her, and her eyes snap to me, "Just go have fun," I soften my tone and she reluctantly nods.
"Fine," she mumbles as she finishes up her packing.
Thirty minutes later I'm walking her out to her uber.
The driver takes her suitcase before sticking it into the trunk causing Jordy to turn to me.
"I'll see you Saturday okay?" she asks and I give her a big nod.
"Be safe," I say before pecking her lips earning a smile from her.
"I will be," she says as she enters the roomy SUV.
I wave to her as she closes the black door, and the tint on the windows prevents me from seeing her.
The SUV pulls off leaving me standing alone in front of the house.
I sigh as I walk back into the house before heading out to the pool.
I see some people in the pool, and some out of it laying in the lawn chairs.
"Bri finally," Eva squeals causing me to walk over to my group of friends.
Journee and Eva have their feet dipped in the pool, while Sebastian chills in the pool between Journee's legs, and Luca is in the pool propped against the tile wall.
I sit beside Journee before sticking my feet in.
"So are you all good?" Journee asks and I nod while giving her a fake smile.
I just ran into Alex and Maya, also Jordy just left for two days, but yeah I'm doing amazing.
"Good I was worried for a second," she says and I shake my head quickly.
"Don't be. I'm all good," I say even though there's a huge hole in my heart.
The pool party and my lash appointment pass by me almost like a dream. I watch it all blur together before arriving home. I see my mom standing at the kitchen island with burgers and fries on one plate and brownies on another one.
She immediately smiles when she sees me, "Your lashes look amazing" she compliments me causing me to smile.
"Thank you," I say while walking further into the kitchen.
"Ready for movie night?" she asks and I give her a big nod before helping her with the plates.
We put on Wreck-It-Ralph before enjoying the night together.
Before I know it I'm in my empty bed snuggled into the comforters. Only one person is on my mind.
Jordy.
I miss her so much.
My bed isn't the same without her.

Into My Heart An Air that Kills - Brahms Heelshire The Boy
This version has some changes in characterisation. Brahms is a little more human, and less psychotic, and Greta is now Laurie (due to copyright minimisation) is a little more vulnerable. The story begins 2 weeks into Laurie's employment, one day before the Heelshire's commit suicide, five days before her life is changed irrevocably. This story line explores how things might have been had Laurie and Brahms had time to get to know each other, and how Brahms reacts and responds to Laurie's more understanding approach to his situation. Brahms's monster is made .... can it be unmade? Contains sex and swearing.I have changed Cole to Joel, and Sandy to Amanda.
