《My Best friend's Sister (GxG)》Don't ever think that

I feel my warm tears cloud my vision as I meet her guilty blue eyes.

"Bri I can explain," she says as she quickly gets out of the bed wearing only her sports bra and boxer briefs. I look around spotting her polo shirt and jeans beside the bed, on top of her white air force's. it was so obvious how did I not notice? This shouldn't hurt my feelings, right? We weren't anything.

Was I just a distraction?

Why else would she continuously try to get with me if she was interested in Maya? I can't believe I shared some of the most intimate things with her, especially my panic attacks.

Ugh, Why does this hurt me so much?

"No, you won't explain," Jordy says before her arm instinctively reaches out halting Alex from getting near me. Alex looks from Jordy's arm back up to Jordy.

"Seriously?" she furrows her brows and Jordy moves to stand in front of me allowing my view of Alex to now to be blocked.

"Yeah seriously, you were just about to have sex with someone else. Why should you get to explain, It's pretty obvious what happened," she says as she crosses her arms and I hear Alex scoff.

"Let's let Bri decide," I hear Alex's voice says and I look to Maya who looks weary as this all unfolds. "No, she's not in the right headspace to talk to you," Jordy says calmly and I hear Alex let out a sarcastic laugh before stepping to the side of Jordy. Her blue eyes meet mine.

"So I wasn't the only one you told about your panic attacks," she says coldly, and my eyebrows furrow.

"No-I" I go to say but she interrupts me.

"Fucking liar," she spits and I feel my heart start to race and tears stream down my face.

"Don't fucking talk to her like that," Jordy harshly pushes her back, and Alex clenches her jaw, "She didn't tell me about those, you dick," Jordy says and I wipe my wet face quickly.

"Then why did you say-" Alex goes to question Jordy.

"Because she's genuinely not in the right fucking headspace after seeing you in bed with a bitch," she yells at her, and Alex's face softens before looking to me, not even bothering to stand up for Maya's reputation.

"Don't even look at her," Jordy says harshly and Alex walks past her before walking towards me causing me to back away slightly. Jordy grabs Alex by the arm as she pulls her back, "What are you not comprehending?" Jordy asks and Alex's focus is now on Jordy.

"Why are you not on my side? I thought we were cool?" she asks aggressively and Jordy lets out a bitter laugh.

"Cool after I just caught you in bed with Maya?" Jordy asks and Alex smiles slightly.

"You know you were just playing her Jordy let's be real," Alex says genuinely as if she and Jordy are still the best of friends, and Jordy's jaw tightens.

"Regardless you knew I was associating with her and you still were gonna fuck her," Jordy says harshly and Alex looks away. Jordy tilts her head slightly at her actions, "Or have you already?" she says and Alex looks back to Jordy with wide eyes. Alex looks at Maya in confirmation, and I feel my heart twist and more tears fill my eyes as I watch this whole thing play out.

This entire time when I was opening up to Alex, falling for her and all of her bullshit lies; she was hooking up with Maya. Had they been doing this the entire time? Come to think of it, when I first met Alex had she already been having sex with her? Was she using me to get over her? Okay, I need to slow down.

I was worried about Jordy playing me when it was Alex who I should've been worried about. Makes sense why she and Jordy are best friends, they both enjoy the same things and may have even bonded over that in the first place.

"Bri seriously let's talk about this, it's not what it seems," Alex says gently and Jordy scoffs as her figure partially covers Alex's half-naked body.

"Stop fucking talking to her, I already said there's nothing to explain," Jordy repeats herself and Alex's eyes snap to Jordy's.

"What are you her fucking gatekeeper?" she spats at Jordy and Jordy's jaw tenses at the comment. "Go ahead be her little bitch then," she says motioning to me and I feel my heart race again at the tense scene unfolding in front of me.

Jordy pushes Alex back, but this time with more force causing her back to hit the wall with a loud pound. A quiet gasp escapes my lips, and I see Alex's blue eyes snap open to Jordy holding anger.

I feel the room spin around me as I try to control my shallow breathing. Alex pushes her back with more force causing Jordy's body to fall into me, and my wobbly legs fail me as I fall onto the ground. Jordy recovers before throwing a punch at Alex's right cheek, and I feel the air escape my lungs. I hold my hand to my chest in attempting to calm myself down, and I feel my rapid heart underneath my heavy hand. I hold my other hand to my spinning head trying to ground myself, but the muffled shouting only makes everything worse. I try to rise onto my wobbly legs as I stabilize myself.

"Bri?" I hear Jordy's muffled voice as her concerned caramel eyes look at me.

Alex shoves her to the side as she walks closer to me, "She has panic attacks so you have to..." I hear Alex go to speak, but the end of her sentence comes through muffled causing me to blink my eyes harshly in hope of tuning into the conversation.

"I can handle it," Jordy's echoey voice says as she pushes Alex behind her and walks closer to me. "Elle focus on me," Jordy says as her blurry face comes closer to me. She gently touches my shoulders causing me to tense in a flight or fight response, and I grab my head harshly as I feel my body sway to the left.

"Elle?" Jordy says before she gets pushed to the left allowing Alex's blue eyes to fill my vision and my eyebrows furrow.

I use my other hand to rest on my chest in hopes of calming myself down, but it only alarms me more when I feel my heart practically beating out of my chest. Alex really slept with Maya. I allow the thoughts to stream into my brain not even bothering to push them out.

She didn't want you.

You really are meaningless.

She left you.

Just like everyone else.

I feel the air leave my lungs at the condescending thoughts. She left you. I hold my throat as I feel it close up tightly begging for air. Instead of meeting those icy blue eyes that were previously present, I'm met with Jordy's deep brown ones. Her caramel eyes are laced with concern as she holds the sides of my face, caressing my cheeks softly.

"Elle breathe,"

I hear her soft voice say causing me to try and intake a breath, but I'm still left gasping for air. She lets go of my face before grasping the back of my thighs as she lifts me into her arms. I feel her spicy cologne scent mixed with strawberries surround me automatically calming some of my senses. I lean my face into her shoulder as I breathe in the calming scent before grasping her button-up shirt tightly for support. I raise my head to take another breath but I'm left in shock when I realize we're outside walking through the party. I lean my head back down breathing in her scent further, but my heart is still at a rapid pace.

I feel Jordy sink down under me, and I lift my head up in confusion. I realize we're at the dock where we smoked earlier. I look to Jordy who's analyzing my face under the moonlight and she lifts her hand up before her thumb wipes away a stray tear. Her face softens before meeting my eyes again.

"I'm so sorry," she says and all the events come flooding back causing tears to stream down my face. Her arms pull me in closer to her as I soak her shirt with tears, and I realize I've probably smeared makeup on her expensive button-up. "You deserve so much better," she whispers and I shake my head.

"Maybe I don't" I croak out and she leans back causing my eyes to meet hers again.

"Don't ever think that," she says almost as if she's telling me, and her eyes take in mine. Don't fall for her tricks Bri. I look down realizing I'm sitting on her lap, and I quickly unwrap my legs from around her before standing.

"I'm going to head back to the party," I mumble even though that's the last place I want to be, and she furrows her eyebrows before standing.

"Why are you pushing me away?" she questions reading my behavior easily and I scold myself for being so readable.

"I'm not," I lie as I look down at the dock beneath us not bothering to make eye contact.

"I don't expect you to open up to me, but I am going to call us an Uber and take you home, you can't go back to the party," she says not bothering to give me an option as she pulls her phone out. I watch as she orders an Uber.

"I'll text Journee telling her we're leaving, and that I'll explain tomorrow," she says and I nod. I'm leaving that problem to deal with in the morning, especially since Journee wasn't aware of Alex and I. Unless she was and never said anything?

Jordy leads us back out to the front of the large lake house, and it feels the complete opposite of when we arrived. It feels so lifeless and sad. Our Uber pulls up and Jordy and I slide into the back seat before the Uber drives off. The car ride is silent, but halfway through Jordy grabs my hand softly as she caresses it. My eyebrows knit together in confusion.

"Just let me be here for you," she whispers and I feel my heart warm at her comforting words. I give her a slow nod before leaning into her causing her arm to rest on my shoulders.
