《A Rekindled Love (A Steve Harrington and Eddie Munson Love Story)》The Rogue's View

Eddie groaned looking down at the worksheet that was just laid down on his desk. Ms. O' Donnell has gotten past even sparing him a glance by this time in the year, not like he would care if she did. Anxiety filled the iron in his veins and his leg started bouncing, fucking hell.

He's already failed this class three times and he's not sure what'll happen if he does again. He can't come back, there's no way in hell. At this point he'll be lucky to graduate with Dustin and Mike.

"I've been thinking and maybe if you take notes I can try to help you tonight with homework and stuff"

Of course he would say some stupid shit like that, Eddie couldn't help the small smile that ghosted his lips. Steve always seems to find something stupid to try and change the subject when he's uncomfortable; or hiding something. They've talked about it though, they aren't allowed to hide from each other anymore. Remembering back to when Steve would hide every single thing he was thinking made Eddie grimace. He always knew there was something on the boys mind but he also knew that he would never tell him had he asked.

Now Steve has barely any problem telling him what's on his mind. He talks freely and comfortable around Eddie, asking for his opinion, making jokes, teasing. The thought of the man makes Eddie's heart skip, he feels like he's on the best drug he's ever fucking taken when he's with him.

He was ripped out his thoughts when the bell rung and he flew up from his seat, grabbing his backpack and starting out of there.

"I've been thinking and maybe if you take notes I can try to help you tonight with homework and stuff"

Fucking hell, goddamnit.

"Actually Ms. O' Donnell, do you mind if I stay after for a little bit and get some extra help? Take some notes you know.."

She sat there staring wide eyed at him, her mouth just slightly open. "U-uhm. Sure, of course Eddie. Come on and sit." He walked back over and sat at a seat in the front row, pulling out the new sheet and a piece of paper, trying as hard as possible to understand whatever the hell this woman's talking about.

Twenty minutes later and Eddie's missed over half of lunch and has a mild headache. He doesn't understand most of the stuff she talked about, but she did say that something is better than nothing, which he agrees is true.

"Where the hell have you been?" Gareth looked over at Eddie as he sat down at his regular seat.

"Studying."

The man rolled his eyes, "what's with the rumor about you and Harrington dude?" Eddie tense up and squeezed his fist, "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Then why don't I tell you? There's a rumor going around that Jason found the two of you making out in the parking lot this morning and then Steve threatened him with a baseball bat. You have to have some vivid fucking imagination to make up something like that, so tell us what the fuck's going on Eddie."

He was slightly taken aback by the malice in Gareth's voice. The two have been friends for years and he barely ever gets mad like that. He can't out Steve, not like the dumbass would care that much- based on the amount of times he's kissed Eddie in front of everyone. But he can't just- it's not his place.

"It's nothing, I don't know what they're talking about."

Gareth's fist slammed down on the table. "That's bullshit! Where have you been Eddie? You don't even come to rehearsal anymore! The only time we see you is here or at Hellfire, which by the way, you tried to fucking cancel on us!"

Eddie's eyes moved to the two younger boys walking to their table and he looked back to his friend. "Drop it. Now." Gareth's eyes followed him to the boys going to sit down. "Oh they don't know do they? So it's true then, you've been fucking around with Harrington and ditching us!"

"What? Eddie? What the hell is he talking about?"

His eyes flashed towards Dustin who was frozen with confusion and he just sat there, not knowing what to say.

Gareth's face wrenched in disgust as he looked between the two and back to Dustin. "Your little king Harrington is a fucking fag-"

Without thinking Eddie grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and threw him on the ground. "Don't you fucking dare talk about my boyfriend like that!"

He bent over Gareth and wrapped his hands around the man's collar again, staring into his eyes. "So what? You go away for a couple weeks and suddenly you and him are what, dating? You fucking disappear from us and come back a different person? That's not you Eddie."

He took a deep breath, "I've been in love with him for five years Gareth. So no, I didn't just fucking change. I grew the fuck up and learned how to be mature." Eddie shoved away from Gareth and stood up, looking across the room to the people staring at him.

"What?! You enjoy the show?! Well guess the fuck what? I'm fucking gay! Good for you guy's for trying to out someone. But you know what, at least I have the balls to say it out around a bunch hick assholes that kiss their mommy and daddy's asses when they get home!"

He was going to get in trouble for that, he had to. But then again, maybe they want him out so bad they'll just ignore to get him out faster.

Eddie threw his bad into his van and was about to get in before he hear someone yell his name. He turned around to find Dustin running after him, wheezing like some maniac asthmatic. "Eddie wait!"

"Henderson look I'm sorry-"

"I don't care."

What the hell is up with these two assholes always fucking interrupting him and never letting him apologize?

"I just- I knew there was something going on between you two. Steve's been acting different and so have you. He never used to care about Hellfire or even talking to you. Now he's telling me that you guys basically talk all the goddamn time and has no problem driving me anywhere? It didn't add up. I've seen the way you look at him, Eddie. I'm not mad I just- I wish you guys would've told me."

Eddie walked up to him and pulled him in for a mildly awkward hug, patting his friend's back. "I know Henderson I'm sorry, he's just scared. This is new for him, and for me if we're being honest. We're just starting to figure stuff out and it's been kind rough on the both of us. I promise we both wanted to tell you- it's just not all up to me. I'm in a god damn relationship with Steve 'The Hair" Harrington, Henderson. Trust me, it hasn't been easy."

Dustin laughed and pulled away, "see, now everything makes sense. Because you were never this stupid before a couple weeks ago. Cancelling Hellfire, coming to school with hickies; the both of you, him wearing you god damn vest!"

"Do I have a hickey?"

Dustin made a dumbfounded face, "uhm yeah, you have for a few days now- it's been fading."

That little shit got me back

"I just can't believe you tackled Gareth over him."

Eddie tensed and cringed as he remembered what he did, but then anger filled him once again when the words started ringing through his ears.

"Your little king Harrington is a fucking fag"

He knows he was just angry, Eddie has been distant- but it doesn't give him the right to call him shit like that. "Y-yeah I'm just protective over him man. Plus I kind of owed him for this morning, he pulled out a bat and threatened Jason because he was saying shit to me."

"He pulled out his bat?"

Eddie's eyes widened, "you know about it?" Dustin's body froze for a second and he looked as if he had made a mistake. "Uh yeah, I've seen it a few times in the back of his car."

His eyes narrowed and he stared Dustin down, "uh huh. Sure weirdo, whatever you say."

"So uhm, how long have you two been-"

"About three weeks."

It was Dustin's turn to look shocked, "like- since our movie night?"

"Uhm yeah, yep. That was it."

"So all those times I walked in Steve's room and he was like half naked with nothing on his bed?"

"I was with him."

"Oh god dude! That's so gross!"

"We weren't having sex Henderson."

"Stop talking! I don't want to think about it!"

Eddie smacked him over the side of the head, "yeah whatever. Go back inside, I'll come back in a second."

Talking about his boyfriend was making him miss the man. He doesn't like going the whole day and only seeing him in the morning and before they go to bed. Plus now Steve was working again and he'd have to see him less. And he wants him to get a job- which is a good idea. But the thought of spending even less time with the man he loves make his stomach drop. When did becoming an adult start being so fucking hard?

"So do you think we could have another movie night? Mike didn't get to come to the last one and I think he's getting pretty piss about it." Eddie was leaving school now and Dustin decided to join him, along with Mike and Lucas who followed behind. "I'm not being pissy! I just think it's weird that you decide to do something like that the one time I'm gone!"

"Yeah yeah."

Eddie rolled his eyes at the two, no longer seeing Lucas and finding him far behind standing at Max's locker. A small smile ghosted his lips and he looked back to the two. "Look I don't care. But if you want to have it at Steve's house you should probably be asking him, not me."

Speak of the fucking devil.

There Steve was, standing at his car laughing with Robin with the biggest smile on his face. Eddie at this point is convinced that the man is his reason for almost every decision he makes now- not that he's complaining.

Their eyes met almost immediately as Steve's wavered past Robin, onto Eddie walking out of the building. He couldn't help but smile and continued his walk over stopping as he remembered the two boys beside him. He turned, "you can't tell him you know."

Dustin's eyebrows furrowed, "what, why? Aren't relationships supposed to be built on trust? Because that's a pretty shit-"

"Henderson shut the hell up. I don't want him to freak out- he's really sensitive about feelings and gross shit- so just. You can ask him about the movie night but leave it at that for now."

He rolled his eyes and walked past Eddie.

"Henderson!"

"Yeah I heard you!"

Mike patted Eddie on the back and followed Dustin, both of the boys stopping as they got to Steve. "Hey? What's up?"

Steve looked purely confused and it Eddie tried to hold down the chuckle that was fighting it's way out. He walked over and stood on the other side of him, facing his back and waiting for the god forsaken children to leave. Eddie's hand made it's way to the small of Steve's back and he rubbed it soothingly.

"Well- Mike's being pissy about missing out on the last movie night so Eddie made us ask if we could have another one since it's your house."

"I'm not being pissy!"

Dustin rolled his eyes and Steve's head turned to look back at the man, "you made them ask?" Eddie smiled, "it is your house." He smiled back and turned towards the boys, a small groan coming out. "Fine, but if you burn the popcorn this time, it'll be the last one."

Eddie subconsciously took a step forward and rested his head on Steve's back giving him a small kiss on his shoulder blade. The man was exhausted, he'd done more today than he had all week and it was catching up to him slowly.

"We won't, we'll just let Max do it."

"Or literally anyone other than you apparently."

"How do you even burn microwave popcorn."

"Shut the hell up, you guys suck."

Eddie could feel Steve's head move and he was now looking over to Robin and Vickie. "You guys want to come? I know you were supposed to hang out this weekend." Robin's eyes lit up from finally having something for the two of them to do and she immediately said yes, asking less than a second later if it was okay with Vickie. "Yeah of course, I'd love to."

"Eddie'll pick you up on Saturday and bring you in to pick out the movies and get some stuff, cool?"

Eddie immediately pinched Steve's back and he jerked away, "what the hell?"

"I don't remember agreeing to that."

Steve rolled his eyes and smiled, "I'll come with you if I don't have work." Eddie raised an eyebrow at him, "and if you do?" He thought for a second before a smirk painted his face and his eyes raked Eddie's body, "I'll make it up to you."

God fucking damnit.

Fucking hell.

"God fine okay, I'll pick you guys up."

Dustin made a face at him, "you could be a little happier about it."

"Don't push me Henderson. I'm fucking ecstatic. Now can the two of you go hop on your little bikes and go home?"

"Why? So you can-"

Eddie eye's flew open and he flared his nostrils at Dustin.

"God! Okay fine! Bye!"

"Thank you!" The two boys walked away and Eddie was immediately on Steve, his arms around his waist and nuzzling his face into his neck. Steve's arm came up around his neck with a small chuckle, "rough day?"

"You have no idea."

Steve ran his hands through the man's hair and kissed his forehead. "It wouldn't have to do with this morning would it?" The worry in his voice hurt Eddie's heart and he looked up at him. "Only a little, you didn't do anything wrong though I promise, please don't worry about it."

Steve was about to say something, but Eddie kissed him before he could. They held there for a few seconds before he pulled away. "I can't believe you're making me do fucking homework when you get home."

"What? I'm being nice and helping you Munson, you should be thinking me, not whining."

"Asshole, I'm not whining. I just miss spending all day with you." Steve's face softened and he laid a soft kiss on Eddie's forehead. "Why do you think I want you to graduate? I get you all to myself after that." He couldn't tell if his boyfriend was being serious, but it didn't matter. Now he had to graduate.

Eddie had barely given any thought to what he'd do after graduation; then again he never thought he'd make it there. "You plan on sticking around for that long?"

Steve's eyebrows furrowed and he hit Eddie's arm. "Are you kidding? I didn't just threaten a kid with a baseball bat and sleep with you almost every night just to stop after you graduate idiot. If anything, that just gives a whole nother reason to want to be with you and spend more time with you."

Yes Eddie did call his boyfriend insane earlier, but the truth was is that he was talking about himself. Everytime Steve says something like that- something that makes it feel like his heart feel like its flying- he feels as if he had actually gone insane. It feels unreal when Steve says I love you, or when he gets to hold him after a long day.

Eddie leaned in and kissed him, "good. Because I plan on being around for a long time."

Tell me if you liked seeing it from Eddie's perspective, I thought it would be a good change for once.

Love you guys lots and lots!
