Alexa's P.O.V

I stood up. "Ria, Lennie and Riley please stay after class I need to go through work with you one on one."

I need to see Riley without making it look obvious. I hope she's the last one to approach me, I crossed my fingers. (One can only hope.) The bell rang, and the three students approached me. "Ria, take a seat." We discussed her work and she smiled. "Thank you, Miss." Lennie went next, he didn't seem phased at all, he sounded like he hated film studies.

Then Riley, she walked towards me. She smiled. I could see that smile the rest of my life. I couldn't help my feelings for her and I knew I wouldn't do anything but try and spend more time with her. I've never loved anyone before and my parents always told me that when you meet the one you know it, never jeopardise that. "If you haven't got love Alexa, you haven't got anything worth having." My dad used to say to me, still does. My thoughts were rushed away as I hit reality again.

"How are you?" I asked. Trying to study which side of the beauty was sitting with me right now. She smiled again almost as if she knew what I was thinking I came to the conclusion that cool and collected Riley was here right now.

"I'm feeling better, thank you..For staying with me whilst the negativity passed." My heart started to hurt, she was so adorable it would be hard to imagine anyone hating her.

I smiled due to the feeling of being appreciated. "Hey, it's okay. I'm glad I could help." I took her hand.

She smiled and squeezed it, she's comforting and calming to be around: which is exactly what I need. I can't help but feel like she's a happy place for me; which are beaches. "Is everything okay with my work?" She asked worriedly, I'd forgotten that I called her here to chat about her assignments.

I nodded my head. "Mhm. Okay, honestly I don't have a problem with your work I just wanted to check if you were okay." I blushed.

She grinned, I should have expected that reaction, I was expecting her to excuse herself away from my forwardness. "Well, thank you. I'm feeling much better now. How are you?"

"I'm okay, I just want Mom home already. It's awful not going up to see her." I looked down trying to ignore the drop in my stomach.

She pulled me into a hug, taking me by surprise. I got close to her, I could smell her perfume; Charlie Red. I loved that scent, It took everything I had to fight the urge to kiss her. "It will be okay. Everything happens for a reason. Everything is set out to test us." She whispered with her wisdom lingering in the air. My mind eased and my body calmed, I wanted this moment to last forever.

I sighed as I clutched her waist. My nose nested into her neck. I debated kissing it. She smelt so good. I could smell her scent; it was earthy but it had a sweetness to it. It was amazingly pleasant to breath in. We hugged for what seemed like a couple of seconds and she released me.

"I know, this probably goes against all the rules but if you ever need someone to talk to here's my phone number." Riley handed me a piece of paper with her phone number on it; I took it. I couldn't resist. I cocked an eyebrow up, she'd expected to get this close because she wrote her number beforehand.

"Riley, you're different. You know that?" I smiled, trying to keep my composure. She let out a sigh.

"I have been told that today. I don't really understand what that means." I stared at her. How can I pull out of this?

"You're 18 years old, you're mature, intelligent, bright, caring, sweet, understanding and you're charismatic."

Her face became softer and I detected a slight colour change in her cheeks. She radiated something positive, I can't quite grasp it. She tried to study me and clearly she was not getting anywhere. "Thank you. Nobody's ever said that to me before."

"Well I'm glad I was the first to tell you."

She walked out of the classroom after saying goodbye. She got to the door "I should have kissed her." She mumbled. Instant regret washed over me for not connecting our lips when I had the chance.

I chuckled to myself. Letting my mind wonder to the outcome of kissing Riley Wood. It was phenomenal. "Yes, you should have." I whispered.
