Riley and Yas are at a 'Bernie's Breakfast bar' near their school ordering their fried breakfasts to go, when a familiar face walked up to Riley. Her eyes travelled down the raven haired woman in awe. She snapped out of her trance harshly trying not to embarrass herself.

"Miss Scarlett-Alexa." Riley spoke. Alexa gave her a smirk and blushed. Alexa loved seeing Riley flustered even if it was only a hint. Alexa couldn't help but let out a small grin.

"Riley and-"

"Yasmin this is Alexa and Alexa this is Yasmin." Riley introduced, she tensed her jaw trying to hold back a laugh expecting Yas to try and fluster her as if right on cue Yasmin looked at Alexa in awe. "Rile, is this your girlfriend? She's beautiful!"

Alexa blushed, and Riley chimed in laughing smoothly "No Yasmin this is my film studies teacher, Miss Scarlett or Alexa whatever you'd prefer to call her" Riley gave a smooth wink to Alexa by quoting her introduction of her first day causing Alexa to hold in a surpressed grin. Yasmin looked disappointed."Oh, that sucks. Sorry Riley." Riley laughed confidently trying not to let the comments get to her.

Alexa was still pink at the cheeks. Riley turned to Alexa. "I apologise for her. She does it to embarrass me, but she failed, again." Emphasising the last word.

Alexa looked at Riley almost disappointed in the response. She moved closer to the blonde, brushing her hands against hers. Their eyes locked and Alexa's lips parted to reveal a wide smile that showed her teeth. Riley stared at her admiring the beauty. Riley knew Alexa was giving signals but why? Alexa was her teacher. Surely she knew the risks. She tried shrugging it off and her attention turned to her Auburn haired sister.

"Rile, thank you for breakfast but my friends are meeting me before class." Yasmin looked at Riley feeling slightly guilty about the imposition.

"No problem. Text me if you don't feel right okay? please try not to fit for 4 minutes straight this time!" Riley chuckled, nudging her sisters shoulder.

Yasmin laughed and muttered "F-off, big sis." And she barged her shoulder playfully before exiting the Diner.

Riley turned to the ebony haired woman. "I'm sorry. That's my little sister. She's amazing with the stuff she goes through."

Riley looked around realising their hands were on top of each other's and they were hogging the sugar and stirrers trolley.

"Alexa, would you want to sit down. We have an hour before classes start?"

Alexa nodded her head too quickly and Riley chuckled. The pair made their way to a cosy couch and a small coffee table. It was an intimate seating area for sure. Riley felt safe here for a reason unknown.

"How is your mother?" Riley asked sympathetically, snapping Alexa out of her trance.

"She's okay. She can't eat properly, and the doctors think she might never walk again." She dead panned. Riley felt her heart ache.

"Alexa, I'm sorry. If there's anything I can do just ask." Riley took Alexa's hands in her own. Alexa scanned the room and eased into Riley's touch, letting the warm tingling sensation consume her body freely.

"Riley, are you actually okay?" Alexa asked looking her dead in the eye as the blonde took 3 long savouring sips of her coffee.

"Mhm, I'm very good thank you. Why do you ask?"

Alexa blurted out. "I can read people." Which was true. She was always the friend that you could tell anything too without judgement. She had a special ability to look deep into people, mentally take them apart until she found what she was looking for, but with Riley. She couldn't see anything, it played on Alexa's mind alot. Riley wasn't an open book at all.

Riley cocked her eyebrow up, intrigued. "Can you read what I'm feeling right now?"

Alexa admitted. "Nope, I've never met a person I couldn't read until I met you. So please, tell me about you?"

Riley smiled weakly hoping the attention would leave her. "There's not that much to tell."

Alexa laughed. "Okay, how about we ask each other three questions and we both have to answer them honestly?"

Riley looked at Alexa with a quizzing stare. "Okay, who's going first?"

"Me, if you don't mind?" Alexa said quickly. Eager to ask her fair share of questions. Riley laughed, Alexa's body melted. She loved hearing that laugh.

"Okay, will you be able to give me a brief background story on yourself?" Alexa pushed hoping Riley would reveal some deep personal facts about herself.

Riley smiled. "That question is very open. Originally, I'm from Cardiff in Wales back in the UK, we moved to San Francisco because my father left my mother for another woman. My sister Yasmin is epileptic, I'm 18 years old and I aspire to be a screen writer." She stated in a single breath thanking the heavens that it was over.

Alexa looked at Riley with a questioning gaze. She hadn't realised Alexa had moved closer to her so their faces were closer together, Riley felt an urge to close the gap as Alex smiled.

"I'm sure you can say a little more about yourself."

Riley looked away then back at Alexa. "Okay, I'm also a lesbian and I'm a fully trained first aider."

Alexa raised an eyebrow "You're gay, really? I hadn't noticed."

Riley could sense the sarcasm in her voice as she chuckled.

She shrugged it off. "Sorry, I just don't like giving guys the idea that I'm straight because it really aggrivates me when they try it on and I've given that speech too many times."

Alexa smirked, admiring Riley's confidence and brutal honesty. "Do you have a partner?"

Riley laughed. "No, I've had partners before but none of them worked out because- "

She stared her coffee like it was going to run away within the next 3 seconds. "They just didn't understand me."

Alexa thought before she asked her next question. "Why didn't they understand you?"

"Let's just say I'm not who I come off as."

Alexa raised an eyebrow and smirked wickedly causing Riley to shudder. "And who are you, Riley wood?"

Riley laughed masking the quiver that went through her when Alexa called her by her full name. "That is a very good question. But you've already asked your three questions"

Alexa frowned. "It seems I have."

Alexa steered the conversation to Riley's first aiding skills. Disappointed that Riley had shut her down.
