《Soulmates/ Jolby》Chapter nine

Colby ran as fast as his wolf could take him. The wind was so cold that he's glad that he has fur. Colby is getting closer and closer to the scent of his best friend, and he can feel the anger rising in him.
'I'm going to kill these fuckers, even if it's the last thing I do.' Colby growls in his head.
Colby stops running when he reaches a bridge. When he comes to a full stop, Colby changes into his human form.
"Has this bridge always been here?" Colby asks himself.
Colby starts going across the bridge, and since it's not that big, he gets across it fast.
Once his feet are on the grass, Colby smells cinnamon and a burning candle, it's Sam's scent. Colby goes in the direction of the scent of his friend, and finds a huge mansion on the side of a hill, just ahead. He growls and starts to sprint towards the mansion.
Colby looks around the outside of the mansion once before he decides that going through the entrance on the roof is the best way in. Colby jumps on many window sills to get to the roof. He pulls back the little door, and jumps down into the empty hallway.
Sam's scent leads Colby to the bottom floor first, and once he's down there he realizes that he hasn't seen a one vampire since he got here. Dismissing the thought, Colby follows the scent to a back room on the bottom floor. The door to the room is the same metal that Colby and the others found in the cave.
Colby busts the door down, and growls loud while he partly changes into his wolf form. His eyes red and his claws out. Once he's in the room, Colby notices that there are about ten vampires surrounding an unconscious Sam. The vampires come at Colby all at once.
Colby breaks the necks of a few of the vampires, but the rest he just slings back. Once all of them are down, Colby heads over to Sam.
Sam becomes conscious when Colby picks his head up, "it's too late, Colbs. I'm one of them now. I'm a monster." He starts to cry into Colby's arm.
"No. You're part of the pack. No one in the pack will care that you're different. We love you anyways." Colby explains to Sam.
"I wanna go home, Colbs." Sam says before he goes unconscious again.

Colby picks his best friend up and carries him the whole way home. While walking home, Colby let the tears run down his face. The things his friend will have to do for the rest of his life will haunt him forever, and Colby knew it.
Colby is hesitant to walk into the house, knowing Everyone will be there to ask questions.
Grabbing he door knob and opening the door, Colby sees everyone waiting in the living room in silence. When they see him with Sam in his arms, they start to ask questions.
"I'll tell you guys everything in a few." Colby tells them. The exhaustion is clear in his voice.
After putting Sam in his room, Colby walks to his own and starts to look up things that could help Sam, and why he's still sleeping.
Colby finds one of his books that he took from home and starts to read the Vampire section.
'Once someone has been bitten by a Vampire, they will go into a coma like state where they won't wake up for at least 24 hours. The body of the victim has to adapt to the venom from the bite, or in les complex words, the victims body will shut down.'
Colby pushes the book away once he realizes that his best friend is in his room dying. Pushing this thought to the back of his head, Colby skips ahead a few pages.
'Once the victim wakes up they will have to feed immediately or they will die. The blood that they drink can either be human or animal, it doesn't matter. It is dangerous for humans to be around the victim for a few days-'
Colby slams the book closed, having all the information that he needed. He starts to head down the stairs to tell everyone the news. Once he gets down there, everyone stands and looks at their Alpha.
"I found Sam in a mansion on the side of a hill. He was already unconscious when I found him. He woke up long enough to tell me that I was too late. Sam is now going through the changes of turning into a vampire. No one treat him any differently." Colby explains to his pack with an emotionless face.
Not wanting to see Kat's face at the moment, Colby goes upstairs to check on Sam. Walking into Sam's room knowing that he is dead for the moment, hurts Colby so much that he drops to the floor near his bed, and sobs into his best friends arm.

"I'm so s-sorry. . ." Colby cries.
Colby is so caught up in his sobs that he doesn't notice that Jake walks in. He didn't realize anyone was there until Jake pulls him into a sideways hug. Relieved that it's Jake, Colby continues to cry until he can't anymore.
"There's something you're not telling us, Colbs." Jake says gently.
"He's dead. Well, for now. I didn't think it would hurt this bad. I know he'll be back soon, but it hurts." Colby rasps.
Instead of saying anything, Jake pull Colby all the way to him and rocks him back and forth.
"Sleep, Colbs. Sam will be here when you wake up, I promise." Jake whispers into Colby's ear.
Colby instantly goes to sleep once those words leave the lips of his mate.
Colby slowly wakes up, he sits up in his bed and rubs his eyes to get the sleep out. Colby looks over to the clock on the wall and it says it's around 4 pm. Colby sits there for a few more minutes, until he realizes something.
'Sam!!'
Colby instantly gets up and heads across the hall to Sam's room. When he opens the door he is greeted by an empty, made up bed. Thinking the worse, Colby runs down the stairs.
"Jake where's Sa-" Colby almost trips over his own feet.
Colby is welcomed by the sight of his mate, Sarah, Kat, and his best friend. Sam is up and smiling at Colby like nothing happened, he is surrounded by Kat and Sarah while Jake is on the other side of the counter.
"Sam. . ." Colby is shocked only for a few seconds before he runs over to Sam and almost tackles him to the floor.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." Colby cries into his friends neck.
"Don't be, Colby. You saved me." Sam smiles.
Colby stands up straight to face Sam, "have you fed yet? You need to." Colby rushes out.
"Yes, Colby, I've fed. Jake made sure of it." Sam rolls his eyes a bit while laughing.
Colby looks over to Jake, "How did you know he needed to feed?" He asks.
"I found the book you were reading and found it there." Jake replies with an answer.
"Thank you for taking care of him, little mate." Colby smiles at Jake.
"Of course." Jake smiles back.
Colby looks over to Kat, "How are you doing, K?" He asks with a hint of guilt.
"I'm fine, Colbs. Thank you." She replies back with a smile.
"Thank you for looking after her, Colby." Sam says.
"Of course, man. You know she's like a sister to me." Colby replies back.
After Hey all talked for a bit about how Sam is doing, everyone turned their attention towards Sarah, who is sitting quietly on Sam's lap.
"What's wrong, Pup?" Colby ask her.
Sarah hesitantly looks up at her Alpha, "I'm scared they'll come back and kill me." She whispers.
"No one will hurt you, baby." Sam whispers into her ear.
She looks up and Sam, "Promise, Daddy?" She says.
Everyone in the room is shocked by what she just said, especially Sam. Sam looks over at Colby and Wes shock on his face as well.
"Of course, love." Sam says after getting over his shock.
"How about you go play with Uncle Corey?" Sam adds.
"Okay!" Sarah replies while skipping away to find her Corey.
"What just happened?" Sam asks everyone in the room.
"I think you and Kat just became parents to Sarah. . ." Jake answers with a small smile.
Colby watches as Sam looks over at Kat and smiles at her, and Kat smiling back.
"I guess we did." Kat whispers.
"Does that make me and Colby the uncles?" Jake asks with excitement.
"Well, I don't know about you, man. You're a bit weird. . . " Sam says with a playful smirk.
"Hey! I am not!" Jake yells.
Colby watches as his friends bicker to each other. How did he get so lucky to them all?
As if on cue the other roommates and Sarah come back into the living room. Sam explains what just happened, and they all couldn't be happier. Their little girl was finally apart of the family for forever.
Colby grabs Jake's hand and watches as his pack talk with one another.
'I can't believe that stupid Alpha has the little girl! She will be mine, and I will make sure
Of it.'
"Sir, its time to plan the attack."
'Here I come, little one. Watch out.'

The Fall
Perhaps the most well known of all devils, demons, or fallen angels is the one known as Lucifer, Satan, the Father of Lies. The cultural influence of this figure throughout history is by no means small. Despite that, it wasn’t until the time of Milton’s classic – Paradise Lost – that we saw an attempt to portray a dramatized version of the events leading to this figure’s fall from grace and power. And while this is the case, Paradise Lost is not about Lucifer – though it goes into great detail about his potential musings. No, Paradise Lost was, and still is, about the fall of mankind. So, in light of this, and the feeling that the classical story deserved another telling, I present to you all The Fall – a story focused particularly on Lucifer’s fall from grace and his musings both before and after.

Thief of Time
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Book 1: The Legend of Tot Synopsis: Claud Primus, a self-declared master thief, has a simple goal. To live forever. It's a rather easy task, for miraculous objects called lifestones are able to extend one's lifespan. These lifestones are best found in the treasuries of nobles, lovely resorts that Claud pays a visit to every so often. Unfortunately, one of those nightly visits go awry, and Claud is forced to escape with just a single lifestone and a box in hand. Normally, that's when things die down. The guards yawn, the gates close, and the night continues. But this time, the night isn't that forgiving. A dozen schemes result in the murder of someone important, and with a convenient scapegoat — Claud — at hand, it doesn't take long for him to be framed as a heinous criminal, wanted for the indirect murder of someone high up...and it just gets worse from there. Book 2: The Moon Lords' Rise Synopsis: As ordered chaos sweeps across Licencia, Claud leaves for Julan Barony, intent on making some profits there. Accompanied by the erstwhile heiress of Julan, a fellow member of the Moon Lords, the two plot against the barony's wealth...as well as a promise to bring about its downfall. Meanwhile, back home, the Moon Lords have busied themselves with digesting their gains. Eyes, however, are beginning to turn to this proverbial fish in a small pond. The fishermen are coming. When they cast their hook, what will Dia and the others do? Book 3: Murders under the Moons Synopsis: In the sleepy town of Nachtville, where Claud and Lily are forced to stop at, a set of nasty murders occurs. Victims scream out in fright, before a spear falls from the sky to end their suffering. Cowed and cautious, the master thief and his partner slink in the shadows, their objective that of home... A new task, however, has fallen on Dia. With a trusty helper at her side, she has to set off towards Nachtville itself, to solve the mystery Claud had abandoned. Faced with an enemy whose sole skillset is geared towards killing, how will they succeed? And what dark secrets will they find? Book 4: In the Dark of the Moons Synopsis: The year has ended. The four months of the full moons will soon be followed by two months of the new moons. Duke Istrel's ascension is around the corner. Amidst this political upheaval, Count Nightfall, Licencia's strongest defender, has been called away. The Moon Lords' largest task yet — to protect Licencia in the absence of its ruler — has begun. And yet, trouble is unrelenting. A distinguished personage, one that Claud fears, has been found dead in the county, his brains dug out and his body disemboweled. The inquisitors of the White Church have been dispatched to investigate and apprehend the murderer...as well as the person behind this puppet. Tormented by a call to fight, Claud directs his eyes out of the city, looking for the puppetmaster. Skulking in the shadows, the master thief will soon confront his greatest foe yet. A foe just like him. Book 5: Moonlit Tides and Darkened Seas Synopsis: A new era has begun. For the privileged, the sands of time dribble away for every passing moment, counting down to the arrival of a entity of mythical proportions. The night now harbours shadows and fog, and operatives of the Moons and the Dark clash in shadow. Claud, as usual, is investigating a spate of nasty disappearances in the city, but little does he know what these disappearances truly mean. And yet, a tide is coming. When it finally breaks, what will he do? Book 6: Secrets in Shadow Synopsis: The person behind a strike that would enter the annals of history flees his home, bringing with him the person closest to his heart into a new land and into a new world. Having left Istrel for the first time in his life, the two of them attempt to settle down in foreign lands, only to be caught in the middle of hostilities between two mighty powers grappling for dominion. Yet, none of that has anything to do with him. Following his desires, Claud eventually makes his way to the fabled Celestia Ruins, a fragment of another world. Bearing witness to truths he cannot yet comprehend, he returns from his exploration, a small break away from the machinations of destiny. One thing, however, is for certain. Destiny will not wait for him. Book 7: Reddest Rage Synopsis: Destiny churns on, heedless of mortal machinations, and Claud watches as the battlegrounds between the Moons and the Dark are drawn up. With the forces of the great Dark occupying Lostfon, Claud comes to a startling realisation — that he may have very well be a murderer of heinous proportions. Grappling with that realisation, he struggles to prepare for his Second Tutorial... Back in Istrel, Dia finds herself confronted with a perennial truth. Even in a time of writhing destiny, the machinations between nobles never cease to end — and unfortunately for her, the group once known as the Moon Lords are forced into dealing with a petty squabble between two counts. What they didn't account for, however, was the startling discovery they would soon make... And the shadow of the Red God's Holy Son behind it all. Book 8: Darkness Descends Synopsis: Nightmares haunt the horizon as Claud sinks and awakens from a seeming dream. What was once illusory begins to play out before him, in a way he cannot imagine. Dia, forced to wield arms, begins and ends a battle that opens her eyes to the vast dangers that lurk in this sundered world. Under the banner of humanity and divinity, she beholds the silent, forgotten protectors of Orb...but there is no forgetting the battle between the divinities. The Dark descends, the Moons writhe, and the horns of war blow once more. But this is not their battle. Not yet. Book 9: Moons Muster Synopsis: As more and more events fall into place, Claud finds himself desperate. Not for himself, but for the person who has turned into his world. Armed with the knowledge of a certain future, he approaches the only person that could possibly help him in his time of need, trading information for a promise of help. With that as solace, he returns to the grim task of understanding and seeking, revisiting an ancient, shattered fragment of another world...unleashing changes that he never knew was possible. Back in Istrel, Dia and the others must now navigate around a familiar spirit, who seeks to investigate the death of his master's Bearer. With them as prime suspects, the Seekers of Life must move carefully...but the Coloured Gods are not the only divinities eyeing them closely. The Moons, bristling from repeated defeats, are looking for new recruits, and the Seekers of Life are prime cannon fodder. Above all, destiny marches on, the unfeeling clock a warning to all. The Trial of Aeons will soon arrive. Book 10: Destiny Divine Synopsis: ??? Release frequency: one every few days or something, I guess.
