《Talk About the Direct Approach...》Chapter Five: Sure of it

Tami takes me down to the kitchen, where Trenton is sitting at the counter. When he sees us, he grabs Tami and pulls her in for a kiss. A not so PG-13 kiss, just for some clarification. Even though, it's not just that that gets me. Just the way they are looking at each other, you can tell they're in love. It makes me slightly jealous. I mean for all I know, I might never get that. Not if Cayton keeps me trapped here.

"Are you hungry?" Tami asks Trenton lovingly. He nods his head and Tami goes to the fridge, while I'm just standing in the kitchen entrance awkwardly. Ah, the problems of a love-outcast. Trenton looks over at me and smiles, gesturing for me to sit down.

"Go ahead, I don't bite," he says.

"No but you do kidnap," I murmur, thinking he wouldn't hear me. But I guess I must not have been quiet, because he laughs.

"It's not kidnapping."

"How do you figure?" I snap.

"Trenton, leave the poor girl alone. You guys have terrified her enough already," Tami reprimands. Trenton rolls his eyes, but drops the subject.

He's just as irritating as his friends.

If I weren't so hungry, I would be trying to escape. Now it's more to escape the people than the situation. Tami is ok, but the rest... no.

"Um, where's Cayton and Carter?" I ask hesitantly. I need to know if I'm going to have a chance to leave.

Trenton pauses for a second, before he says, "Working."

"Working? As in...?"

"Stuff," Trenton shrugs. I roll my eyes and sit down, leaving a seat between me and Trenton open for Tami.

Good enough for me.

A tiny- very tiny- part of me is curious about Cayton. But me and this tiny part have had our disagreements recently, and I choose to ignore it.

"Here you go!" Tami chirps, putting a plate of spaghetti in front of me. My stomach growls in response and her and Trenton laugh, making me blush. I eat to satisfy the beast in my stomach, practically moaning at the amazing taste of the food.

"Oh my god Tami, this is amazing!"

"I can tell," she giggles. I finish the spaghetti in record time. This girl sure knows how to cook. I even lick the plate clean. All my table manners fly out the window- my very limited knowledge of table manners, I mean.

"Thank you. I'm going upstairs to my prison cell now!" I say, quickly leaving the kitchen without so much as a second glance. I go into the bedroom, trying to shut the door until I realize it's broken. Right. My sexy psycho kidnapper with anger issues broke it down. After that glorious conclusion, I decide to explore the closet for some shoes. It will be easier if I can run without being stabbed in the foot with rocks every five seconds.

The closet lives up to the glory of the house. I mean, it's huge- like fit a group of five in it huge. Only one side was filled with clothes, and they were men's. The shoes were about five sizes too big, so they wouldn't exactly be useful. I just grab a pair of sneakers and hope for the best.

I go down the steps as quietly as possible to see if Trenton and Tami are still here. They are, but they were too busy sucking face on the couch.

Safe to say they were distracted.

I creep back up the steps, go into the bathroom, climb out the window, down the tree, and run.

"Come on in," Macy's father Jay beckons. We step into the old house when a girl—Macy's sister—comes into the room.

"Carter! You're back!" she yells, running up to Carter and hugging him. Carter laughs and ruffles her hair.

"Hey short stuff."

That is one thing that people would find shocking about Carter. He's such an ass sometimes, but he's great with kids. They just seem to like him for some... odd reason. He had a two-minute conversation with this girl and already he was her best friend. I will never understand.

"So what brings you down Cayton?" Jay asks.

"I need to talk to you about Macy," I said. He motions us towards the couch and I take a seat. Macy's sister drags Carter off somewhere else.

"I should probably be a little pissed that you kidnapped my daughter," he chuckles. "But I figured you had a sound reason." I nod.

"She's my mate," I explain simply. Jay has been living in this town for ten years now, and he knows all about werewolves. Considering he was the only human living in Creek Run, it wasn't hard for him to figure it out. Mark and Fran were werewolves and had explained everything to him once he became suspicious.

"So you kidnapped her?" he asks skeptically, yet still smiling.

"Yea... Maybe I didn't think it through exactly..." I admit, scratching the back of my head. He laughs loudly.

"Maybe not. She giving you a lot of trouble?"

"Only a little."

"She's..." he tries to find a word to describe her.

"Strong willed?" I offer up. He snickers.

"Yea, that's it. She is a handful though, so I wish you the best of luck."

"Thanks. I just wanted to let you know what was going on so I didn't have people hunting us down," I laugh lightly.

"Mark and Fran explained it when I got home, you didn't have to worry. But you better get going before she tries to run away."

I'm free! I keep chanting repeatedly in my head, that is until I spot Cayton and Carter emerging from the trees. Shit! I turn quickly to go in the opposite direction, hoping to be unseen.

"Macy?" Cayton questions. Damn it. I think a higher power doesn't particularly like me.

I turn around slowly, smiling innocently. "Hehe, hi..."

"What are you doing?" he asks, quirking and eyebrow with his arms crossed over his chest. Carter comes to stand behind him, looking amused by the situation. Asshole.

I register the fact that neither of them are wearing shirts, and Cayton looks absolutely sexy with his arms crossed. I try not to pay it too much attention, because I don't need that distraction right now.

"Oh, I'm... I was... looking for a bathroom!"

"You know where the bathroom is," Cayton says matter-of-factly.

"Not one with a door," I retort, giving him and accusing look. He just smirks.

"Right, well let me show you to the bathroom." He wraps an arm around my waist and holds me to his side. That odd feeling to hold him and never let him go comes back full force. I ignore it, but allow him to keep his hold on me. He looks down at my feet, then back to me with a questioning look.

"You needed my shoes to go to the bathroom?"

"I was... afraid I would step on a spider?" He nods, but I know he's just humoring me. What a jerk.

"Trenton!" Cayton yells once we get in the house. Tami and Trenton both come in the room, giving me a confused look. Uh-oh... "Care to explain why Macy was out of the house?"

"She went upstairs after we-" Tami starts, but is rudely cut off.

"I thought I told you to watch her," he says angrily. I could feel his hold on my waist tighten, but I pull away from him, not liking the tone he's using with her. Even if she is helping to get me hostage, I kind of liked her for some reason. Probably because of her cooking skills.

"Cayton, I snuck out the window. Don't yell at her for this," I scold, crossing my arms over my chest. I swear, it was like talking to a child. And did I honestly need a babysitter?

"I told them to watch you, and I come home-"

"I know what happened, I was there. Just don't yell at them, it wasn't their fault. If you're so worried about me running away, then maybe you shouldn't have kidnapped me!" He groans huskily.

"Get it through that thick head of yours, you were not kidnapped!" he says lowly, his eyes doing that weird thing where they get darker. I guess that's a sure sign he's angry.

Warning, I have awaken the beast.

But does that stop my stupid mouth from continuing? Of course not.

"I was forcibly taken from my home, stuffed in a car, and stuck in a house that I'm not allowed to leave. So please, explain to me what you think that is!" I'm shouting at this point, glaring at him with all my heart.

He takes a step towards me, making me take a step back. Everyone in the room is standing there tensely, not knowing what to do with the sudden arguing. I may sound confident with my words, but that's because I don't think before I speak. Right now, I'm regretting saying everything I did.

Carter steps in between Cayton and I when Cayton takes another step forward, putting a hand on his chest. I hide behind his back, feeling intimidated by Cayton. I couldn't quite figure it out, but there was something about him that just made you think he was powerful in more than a physical sense. Like when you get a vibe that someone is a creep, I'm getting a powerful vibe from him.

It was sexy and scary at the same time.

Wait, what?

Forget I said anything.

Remeber the situation, Cayton is angry because of me. Let's stick to that. I cower behind Carter, watching Cayton carefully to see what his next move will be. He doesn't say anything; he just gives me one last look before he runs out the door angrily.

Oh, so he decided to keep that one attatched to the frame, huh?

I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding. I was just about to thank Carter until he turns around and smirks at me. I scowl back at him, throwing away the idea of thanking him for possibly saving me from being strangled.

"I'm sorry guys, I didn't know you would get in trouble," I apologize to Tami and Trenton. Apologizing to my kidnapper's guards because I tried to run away and they got in trouble? Add that to the list of things I don't think should be taking place during a kidnapping.

"Don't worry about it. Cayton has a bit of a temper," Tami says, embracing me in a hug. I hug back, really needing the comfort right now and not caring where it came from.

"A bit? He's broken down two doors since I got here. I say he should see an anger management specialist," I chuckle. She laughs too, along with Carter and Trenton.

"Well it's been a long day. Here, I'll show you where you will be staying," Tami adds. I nod in agreement and follow her up the stairs.

"Can you show me a bathroom? I really need a shower," I ask.

"There's one in your bedroom."

"Sweet." With that, she opens the door to an absolutely beautiful room. The walls are white with a purple border, and a flower mural painted on one wall. A massive four-poster bed sits in the center of the room with a deep purple comforter, and a mahogany nightstand on the right side.

"Wow," I breathe out. Tami giggles.

"I thought you would like it. Well, I gotta go, see you tomorrow!"

Tami leaves the room and I go into the bathroom to take a much needed shower. Today has been both physically and mentally exhausting.

I stand under the warm spray, letting it relax me as I replay today's events in my mind. What started as a normal day quickly turned to disaster. And to make it worse, I think I'm attracted to my kidnapper. How much stranger could this situation get? Of course, the hottest guy on the planet kidnapped me.

Such a shame.

I thought about how this summer is definitely living up to my dad's insistence that it would be special. No kidding.

Oh no, my dad must be going crazy right now! Surely, he called the police, right? Of course he did. If me missing wasn't enough to get him to call the police, telling my mother I was missing was.

I would be found soon enough. I was sure of it.
