I start to run while he pulls my knife out of his shoulder. I look up at the sky to see that it's getting dark. 'HOLY FUCK HE'S SO MUCH TALLER UP CLOSE!!! I can't believe that 'tiny' knife actually hurt him!' Before I know it I'm in front of my house. I throw the door open to see Ian has fallen asleep on the couch and Mom is picking up her and Ian's dinner plates while mine sits there with it's cold food. My mom places the dishes in the sink. She picks up my plate, puts my mashed potatoes in a container, puts my plate in the sink then turns around to look at me. "You and your friends have a good time?" She says, her voice sounding kinda scratchy and nose a little stuffy. I try to catch my breath but can't say much. I just wheez out "They- -di- -ditch-" "They ditched you?" I nod a small bit still trying to catch my breath. Mom walks past me into the living room and picks up Ian. "That's their loss, they missed out on hanging out with someone really amazing." I nod and mutter to myself "A lot people seem to be thinking that lately." "Hmm?" "Nothing." she starts to head upstairs to Ian's room. "Try to get some sleep, I'm taking you to camp tomorrow." She whispers in a gentle voice. She tucks Ian into bed, being mindful of his arm, then walk over to her room. "Night honey." "Night Mom." With that we close our doors.
Mom is probably all cozy in bed about to fall asleep whereas I'm the opposite. I'm sitting on the floor holding Chucky's knife trying to keep my eyelids open. I close my eyes for a moment but then open them wide again and see Freddy sitting in front of me. I back up against my bed and grip the knife tighter. He leans in close and whispers in my ear, his hot breath tickling the skin on my neck. "You'll fall asleep soon, then you'll be MINE." I squeeze my eyes shut and shake my head rapidly. "No!" I open them again but Freddy's gone.
I don't know how I managed it but I stayed up all night. My alarm goes off telling me Mom's awake so I hop into bed and pretend to be asleep. My door opens a moment later. "(Y/n), time wake up honey. You're going to camp today." My mom whispers like I'm still a little kid. I roll over and act all sleepy like I just woke up. Mom opens my curtains and I pretend to wince at the bright sun. Mom walks out my room and says "Come downstairs when you're ready." I nod then she closes the door. I jump out of bed ditching the 'just woke up' act. I go over to my closet and pick a bright orange tee-shirt tied in the middle that says 'CUTIE' in bold print with a box around it, some brown shorts and black boots. I look at myself in the mirror for a moment then nod. I pick up my phone and call Adam.

"I'm going to camp blood."
The room lights up with a flash so I put my middle finger up.
"Yep. Can you think of anything?"
"Yes, sounds perfect!"*knock, knock, knock!* "I gotta go, see you there."
I hang up, put my phone in my pocket and grab my bag. I open my door and Ian's there. "Mom's waiting for you in the car." "Bye little bro!" I say giving him the biggest hug. "Bye (Y/n)." I let go of him then run outside to the car.
"You ready to go?" I nod and climb in the front seat.
About two minutes later I get a text from Billy.
B:Hey cutie❤
Stop txing me!🖕:(Y/n)
I block his number and put my phone back in my pocket. Then I get a text from Stu.
S:you don't have to be so mean sweetheart
You both tried to
kidnap me!:(Y/n)
I block Stu then put my phone on silent mode. I let out an loud huff. "You okay honey?" "Boy trouble." I blurt out without thinking. My eyes widen at the HUGE mistake I just made. "You wanna talk about it?" "You wouldn't believe it if I told you." "I when through some crazy stuff in my time so it's probably not as crazy as you think." "I'd rather not talk about it." "I understand, I went through some relationships I didn't think my parents would understand either so You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."
After a long silence we arrived at Camp Crystal Lake. As soon as we made it to the camp grounds I felt nervous, like I was being watched. Mom parks in one of the open parking spots then turns the engine off. We both get out and start walking around trying to find my cabin. "Hey you two look lost." We both turn around to be greeted by a teenage girl about my height. She has blonde hair put back in a messy ponytail. "I'm Rachael, one of the camp councilors." My mom smiles and says "Hi this is my daughter (Y/n), she's supposed to go to cabin three." "Op, that'd be my cabin! Here I'll show you where it is." 'Rachael is obviously a ball of positivity trying to make friends as a councilor. That's sweet.'
She brings us to a cabin that has two other girls inside, one looking very familiar. "See you after you finish up camp." Mom gives me a big hug then walks over to her car and drives off. Rachael ushers me inside and everyone looks at me. "Everyone this is... Um-" "(Y/n)." I said introduced myself. "Right, (Y/n). This is Lia," she gestures to a girl with long black hair in two braids. She looks up at me and waves. "Becky," and there sitting on her bed glaring at me is none other than mother fucking Becky, high blonde ponytail and all. "And Faith should be here any minute n-" Suddenly the door slams open and a girl with brown hair in two messy buns walks in carrying two big duffle bags. "Sorry I'm late." Then it starts raining, HARD. Faith looks outside and Lia says "You're right on time. This is (Y/n)!" Lia hugs me then backs up. "Sorry, too close?" I shake my head and say "It's okay, I like hugs." Lia immediately hugs me and says "Then I think we'll get along just fine." I look behind me to see Becky's still glaring at me. "Can I talk to Becky alone?" "Sure." Rachael says with a shrug. "The other room is empty if you two wanna talk privately." I nod and walk into the next room. Becky rolls her eyes then walk in behind me.

"Why are you so angry at me?" Becky looks off to the side not interested in this conversation whatsoever. "You wouldn't get it." "I want to know what I did that was so wrong! What did I do!?" "Evan died, okay!" she looks off to the side again, tears pricking at her eyes. She bites her lip to stop herself from crying. "His death is what caused the the (random number) alert. He was my boyfriend but now I can't even look at his jacket without crying." "I didn't-" Becky storms out of the cabin into the rain. I walk out of the room. The other three girls are sitting on their beds with worried expressions.
I grab my rain jacket from my bag then say "I'm going out to find her." "Wait you shouldn't go alone!" Rachael puts on her rain coat and holds the door open for me. "You'll need someone who knows these woods inside and out so you don't get lost." I nod letting her tag along.
After a few minutes of wandering aimlessly I hear a chocking sound from behind me. I turn around going to tell her to stop fooling around but what I see is terrifying. A man wielding a machete just slashed Rachael's throat. He turns his head to me then cocks his head to the side. He starts walking toward me so I slowly start to back away then start running. I run behind a cabin, look to my right to see Becky's leaning against the cabin next to me. The mysterious man that killed Rachael is now walking toward Becky. She's looking at the ground so she doesn't notice until his shadow is looming over her.
She looks up in terror and mutters "Jason..." under her breath. Jason raises his machete and Becky holds her hands up to shield her face. I run in between them before Jason's machete can make contact with Becky. "WAIT!" I open my eyes to see his machete is barely an inch away from my face. "If... If you let Becky go I'll let you kill me." I put my arms out sacrificing myself for Becky. 'Yeah she's a bitch but I can't just sit back and watch her die.' Jason cocks his head to the side again then looks from Becky to me, Becky, me, he looks at Becky for a long few seconds then finally locks his gaze on me.
I kick Becky's leg signaling her to run and she does. Jason was about to run after her but then he turns back to me. I hear an audible huff. Jason picks me up and slings me over his shoulder which really bothered me because these are short shorts... I don't say anything because I don't want to anger him or make things awkward.
After a few minutes we arrive at a well hidden cabin far from anything or anyone. Jason tosses me onto an old bed and towers over me. Then he pokes my boob. I blush with a very confused look on my face. "Wha-?" Then he pokes my stomach making me laugh a little because that's my ticklish spot. Jason looks down at me then pokes my stomach again. I try to hold in my laugh but he pokes me again. He tickles me a small bit then starts full-blown tickling me. I crinkle up into a little ball trying hide my stomach from him. "J- ha! -ason! Haha! Stop!" this only makes him tickle me more. I sharply inhale while my lungs ache. Jason stops for a moment looking at me in a concerned way. I take my chance to breath while Jason worries. "I'm alright." Jason hugs me tightly glad that I'm okay. A twig snaps outside drawing Jason's attention to the sound. He points to me then the ground then looks at his hand and closes it into a fist. Which I think means "Stay here or there'll be consequences." I nod rapidly. Jason walks out of the cabin to investigate the sound. I quietly take my phone out of my pocket and call Adam.
"(Y/n) are you okay!? Becky told me that you ran into Jason!"
"Yeah I'm okay but Jason brought me to this abandoned cabin further into the forest."
"Me and Becky are looking for you. Whatever happened a few minutes ago really made her have a change of heart."
I look out of one of the broken windows to see Jason coming back.
"I gotta go but I'll text you my location."
I hang up and immediately text him my location then put my phone on silent mode and put it back in my pocket. Jason walks in the door with some blood on his clothes. I back up against the wall fearing who he could have just killed. He reaches his hand out to touch my cheek but I scoot away from him over into a corner. He looked sad when I did that. He forcefully grabs my chin and strokes my face getting blood on me. He pulls me into his strong arms and hugs me tightly. I weakly struggle but can't break away from him.

Lifestones of Lebreima
Lottica and Nick probably could have dealt with the sudden death of their parents. They probably really could have coped. IF. IF they hadn't had to deal with foreign grandparents who wanted to whisk them off to Lebreima, a small Old World country thousands of miles away from their friends and neighbors. IF they weren't being pursued by a sinister figure in a cape (a cape of all things!) who may have killed their parents. IF, in the ruins of their house, Lottica and Nick hadn't found what their dad had hidden there, along with secrets that were about to change the universe as they knew it. IF (and this deserves the all caps) THEIR DEAD PARENTS HAD JUST STAYED DEAD.

The Weather Vane
This is the first few chapter of my new book available on Amazon. The beginning is very light and fun, but more mature content comes later. From medieval fantasy to ultra high-tech to dinosaurs, The Weather Vane is a grippingly fast-paced adventure full of fun and excitement, literary flourish, and colorful characters. A group of ascendant masters find themselves in the afterlife and learn that they are newly recruited into the cosmic battle of good versus evil. Before they can join the fight, shipwreck strikes and they are lost in the ether. Stranded in a magical land beyond the reaches of the universe, The Weather Vane follows our crew of heroes as they try to piece things back together even while The Dark Lord’s forces march, maraud, and murder at every turn. Themes of darkness chase the overall levity of The Weather Vane which suffers not a lull as the climax begins near the beginning of the book and drives on through the greatly satisfying finish. The most epic of epics.
