《Best friends To Lovers ✔️》Chapter 21

*Edited*
The next morning when we woke up, I decided that we should do something about our parents and their secrecy.
"So how will we do this?" Brennan asked me while we were still laying in bed. "I was thinking we should have dinner. But is going to a restaurant to open? Like what if shouting happens. We don't want people staring at us." "Baby. Relax." I must've been rambling. "I'm sorry. I just hate that they're lying to us. Like it's going to be our companies in a few years." "I know that baby but maybe they're waiting until they have it all sorted and written up. How about we suggest dinner to them tonight. The both of us could cook yeah?" He's good.
We lay in bed for another hour before we decided to get up. We decided that Brennan would go home and say it to his parent about dinner and I'm going to o say it to mine too. We're having the dinner in Brennan's house because he said so. Weirdo.
"Hey mom, dad. Can we talk." I said after Brennan left. "Of course sweetie. What's up?" My mom asked me. "Yeah everything's fine. It's just that me and Brennan decided that we should have a family dinner. We're cooking as well." "That sounds like a lovely idea. When are you planning on doing it?" My dad asked. "I'm not sure what time. But it'll be tonight. So I'll most likely be gone all day since we need to go shopping too." "Alright sweetie. Have a good day anyway. Your father and I still have work to do anyway. Just text me the time." My mom said while giving me a kiss on the cheek.
I decided to ring Brennan to see what's happening. "Hey B. What's going on? Can I come over now." "Hey baby. Yeah come on over now. We can go shopping and Amanda wants to come with if that's ok." He asked me. "That's cool. I'll just get dressed and be over in about thirty minutes." "Bye baby." We hung up and I decided to get ready.

I went for a shower and decided not to wash my hair since I did that yesterday. I got out of the shower and saw that I only have fifteen minutes left to get ready.
I did simple makeup and got into a cute outfit.
I packed some perfume, lipstick, my purse and my phone in my bag. Hopefully whatever we cook doesn't stink up my outfit.
Heading over to Brennan's house, it was already one o'clock. I'll beg him to bring me to McDonald's for lunch.
"AMANDA. COME ON WE'RE GOING." Brennan said when I walked in to the house. He started to kiss me but pulled away when we heard steps coming down the stairs. "You ready?" I asked her when she came into the kitchen. "Yeah. Let's go." She grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the house.
"So. Where's your parents." I asked Brennan when we were driving to the grocery store. "They said they still had work left to do." "That's What my parents said too. They're probably working together then." I said to him, slightly annoyed that they're lying to us. Amanda was sitting in the back of the car, not realising what was happening.
For dinner, we decided to cook chicken Kiev's, salad and fries. For dessert, we bought an already made Malteasers cheesecake. I couldn't wait to have dessert.
At 2:30, we pulled up to the mall. I had asked Brennan to bring us to McDonald's and apparently the one at the mall was the closest one to the grocery shop, so he brought us there.
We didn't spend too long in McDonald's because it was super busy and noisy. We made it back to Brennan's house after 3. That means we only have less than 3 hours to cook dinner.
Oh shit! I forgot to tell my parents what time dinner was. I sent them a super quick message and put my phone down to get ready to make the food.
By the time we got all the food done it was 5:30. Me and Brennan went upstairs to his room to just lie around before dinner. Fifteen minutes later we heard his parents come through the door. We went down to see them. We heard the front door opening, signalling my parents arrival.

"Hey guys. Why don't ye all go sit at the table and we'll bring the food out." I said to them when everyone came into the kitchen. "Oh Olivia. You sure are spoiling us." Ashley said to me and they all walked in to the dining room.
Five minutes later we had all the food served and then we took our seats at the table with everyone else.
"So why are you kids spoiling us?" Liam asked us when we finally sat down. "Well we just wanted to make ye dinner. Is that so bad?" Brennan's acting skills are so bad.
"Now son. Don't lie to me. What's this all about?" Ashley asked Brennan. "Fine. We are having this dinner because we want you to tell us what ye are working on in the companies. Ye are being very secretive with us when we'll be taking over from ye in a few years." Brennan finally said. Thank god he did cause I didn't want to ask them.
"Ok then. That was blunt." My dad said laughing at him. "So basically we want to merge the companies together and the only way to do that is to form a bond between the two families." My dad answered.
"So what does that mean then?" I voiced my thoughts. "Basically in a few years you too are going to have to get married. To each other." Ashley said to us.
"Was that so hard to tell us?" Brennan asked his parents. "I know you two are dating but that doesn't mean you're going to be together for a while." My mom said. "But you don't know that you didn't even ask us." I was getting annoyed now.
"Look let's not talk about this now after ye have made us such a lovely dinner. We'll talk about it another time. Nothings finalised yet." Liam said to us. Amanda sat in her seat, not knowing what was going on.
"Ok. Who's ready for dessert?" I asked, just wanting to change the subject. I didn't wait for an answer as I got up and went to the kitchen. I heard someone following me.
"Baby. At least we got some sort of an answer from then. This is good." Brennan said to me as we fished out the cheesecake. "Yeah you're right. I'm just annoyed you know?" "Yeah baby. So am I but we'll just have to wait until everything's sorted. I'm not going any where." With that being said, he gave me a peck on the lips and walked out with two plates. I followed him with another two.
Dinner went well, besides the little hiccup we had at the start. My parents left after eleven and I decided to stay the night, not wanting to drag Brennan all the way to my house since we were already here.
"Stop it. I can see the wheels turning in your head." Brennan said to me when we were getting changed for bed. "I can't help it. Like imagine. We'll be getting married to merge two companies. That's not how I want my wedding." I decided to tell him. "We won't let it get to that point. If it makes you feel any better, I think we should elope. Not yet. But when they do tell us when the wedding is, we should elope. Just the two of us. Then we'll be properly married and the other wedding will just be staged." He's smart.
"What would I do without you." I said, leaning up to give him a kiss. "Die probably." He said laughing. He kissed my forehead and pulled me closer to him so we could go to sleep.
Crazy to think our parents are already arranging us to get married. What the fuck.
