I

I didn't scream.

Actually there was no sounds coming out of my mouth. I was too shocked to speak. I tried to open my mouth but the lump at the back of my throat enabled me in doing so.

Each time I wanted to speak my jaw slackened unable to form words.

I scrunched up the blankets in my fist. My fists were so tight around the material they began to hurt. My breathing was erratic, and I could see this as my chest heaved upwards.

A man was in my room.

How did they even get in here?

The shadow moved closer and I wanted to move further into my mattress. Why couldn't I scream? What was happening? I'm so sure I have a disease. I talk when I'm not supposed to, but when I should I don't.

Was I supposed to die tonight in my own bed?

The shadow stopped at the edge of the bed, I didn't dare to look at their face.

My heart beat was pounding so hard against my chest that my chest began to feel sore. I could also hear the pounding.

Then the shadow spoke.

"Kid."

The voice was gruff and low. Even though he whispered the word it sounded scary. It did things to my body. The tiny hairs on my arms perked up to the pure males voice. I gulped down a puff of air that tried to escape my lungs.

No no little bubbles of air! You need to stay down.

The three letter word held meaning to me at least. Other than the fact that it's pretty self explanatory, I knew there was only one man who used that stupid nickname on me.

Like seriously I'm not a kid!

The blankets fell out of my fisted hands, my frightened face was gradually replaced by the biggest grin I could muster.

I literally leaped out of bed-surprisingly I didn't fall- and I jumped onto the shadow who I now recognised was Mr Grumpy.

My hands latched around his neck and I knelt on the bed as he stood in front of me.

My grin couldn't get any bigger.

I soon felt uncomfortable because he was way taller than me when I was on my knees. So I got up from my kneeling position.

My legs went wobbly so I held him tighter. I pulled him tight into my arms as I hugged him.

He honestly does give the greatest hugs. They're just so snugly and cozy. They make me feel warm and tingly inside.

His scent was amazing. I loved how he smelled, he smelled so rich and manly. I inhaled more of him as my nose nuzzled the crook of his neck.

Did I miss him?

Of course, he's my friend. Well atleast that's what I called him. The person who has saved my life on several occasions.

"Mr Grumpy." My voice dripped with excitement. I sounded a little croaky with my dry throat. Ribbit Ribbit.

He stood stiff as a wall. He didn't move his arms around me like I hoped. I pouted and shook my hopes off. He was here. He was alive.

I brought my face back and there was still little space between us as I looked down at him. I couldn't see clearly since there was little light.

I felt nervous under his gaze. Did he feel as nervous as I did?

I brought my now shaky hand up close to his face. I wanted to feel his soft skin. I wanted to hug him till we both got tired of each other's arms. To feel if he was actually here. Again.

Mr Grumpy was a ghost who could disappear anytime to anywhere and we wouldn't know. He's so secretive. What if one day he disappears and I don't even know?

His eyes sliced through the darkness. No matter how dark it was I could always see his eyes. His hazel eyes just stared at me. Hazel to blue. Could he see every expression on my face? Could he tell that I was nervous?

He looked absolutely beautiful with the moonlight bouncing off of him. The light gave him a more angelic kinda vibe. He was like a fallen angel.

I could see his eyes dart from mine to the hand in front of him. It wavered in the air before it slowly dropped it touching his right cheek. I rubbed his cheek with the pads of my thumb. His stubble felt kinda ticklish actually.

My lips parted in awe as I felt how soft and smooth his skin felt. He definitely moisturised. He had no acne or pimples. Lucky him.

I began to lightly skim my fingers over his sharp, detailed features. His nose was slim but a bit crooked which indicated that he definitely received punches to the face. He jawline was sharp under my touch. So defined.

I didn't look him in the eyes when my fingers started to trace his lips. They were a full and perfectly bow arched set of lips. Soft. Perfect. Angelic.

How could anyone be so beautiful yet so deadly?

I felt his heavy puffs of air coming from his nose. Those same air puffs fanned over my fingers.

I felt my chest tightened like there was a vice around me.

All of a sudden I dropped my arms behind my back and moved slowly away.

What the heck was I doing?

I can't just violate others personal bubble?

I just touched Mr Grumpy's face!

The thought alone had my face burning a bright scarlet colour and my fingers tingly.

I looked back at him hoping he would say something to break the silence.

What if he wants to kill me now?

I mean I did just touch his face.

Oh my gosh! What if he actually wants to kill me? Holy lamas!

"H-Hi." I squeaked out and slowly sat down. I now had to look up to him. His face was the same as it was when I touched him. Black, no expression whatsoever.

He didn't utter a single word.

I didn't expect him to.

"Mr Grumpy? Um, w-why are you here?" I twiddled my thumbs together as I waited for his reply.

Please say something. Anything.

"Because I wanted to." I was gobsmacked. He actually spoke to me. My lips curled up slightly. But what does that mean?

"W-What do you mean?"

"I don't need to explain myself." His voice was like a spear as it cut through the air.

"Please Mr Grumpy." My voice dropped as I pleaded. I needed to know at least something. He was too puzzling.

He didn't reply. I surprisingly dropped it because that man was the most stubborn person ever.

"Get dressed. We're leaving."

I felt my jaw literally drop till it touched the floor. Did Mr Grumpy just speak to me? I mean it was more of a demand.

I didn't move, my eyes found his again. "I don't t-think my parents will like it."

I darted my eyes to my purple flower socks. I actually got them for $1:45 at this market down the street. They had like 5 different prints and I got them all. I bought a purple flower one, a pink cotton candy one, a hello kitty one and a blue zebra print one.

"Kid. Get dress, we need to talk." He folded his arms and I noticed that he wore his a brown thick jacket.

My eyes traveled to beneath his jacket. My eyes had a mind of its own as it gawked at his chest which was covered by his black v neck shirt. The material stretched and clung over his torso and chest. I could see those pecs and muscles. Holy socks.

I want to touch it.

I hesitantly nodded at him. What would my parents think? Oh my gosh am I ready to become a rebel?

"Get done kid." He glared at me. I nodded again and carefully got off the bed.

But because I wasn't a normal person, my legs somehow got tangled up in between the sheets and I fell with a shriek.

My whole front of my body hit the floor hard and sore. I let out a moan as I felt the air escape throughout my mouth. My body winced in pain.

My breasts felt incredibly sore and so did my face. Did my floor have to be so hard? And did I have to fall so sore. I'm actually so surprised my parents aren't here to help me.

Speaking of help..

Oh my gosh!

Holy cows!

Oh my gosh x2!

Adrian! Adrian Miles! Mr Grumpy!

He's here! He saw me fall- like an idiot- over my sheets! I can't believe this.

I've never felt so mortified in my life. Seriously. I've fallen a lot, trust me, but I've never felt more embarrassed than I am now. My cheeks turned scarlet as if someone had slapped me. I just wish the floor could open up and swallow me whole. I couldn't control the embarrassing groan that escaped from me.

I didn't move a single part of my aching body. I wanted to cry from embarrassment. Oh my goodness. I needed to go to therapy or something for my clumsiness. Like how the heck did I manage to fall over bed sheets?

I then felt strong hands pick my body up so carefully as if I was a fragile doll. I shut my eyes so I wouldn't see his expression which probably said 'you're an idiot.'

I might as well walk off a bridge for Harambe.

Rest In Peace fellow Gorilla.

I felt my marshmallows touching my bed. When I swayed my feet I could feel the traitorous sheets caressing the tip of my toes.

"Open your eyes kid." I heard his delicious voice that ignited a zoo of gorillas in my stomach. I peeked one eye open then the other eye followed.

"Now I'm only going to say this one more time kid. Get. Dressed." Mr Grumpy stressed out his words like he was speaking to a kid. He leaned closer to me and then I got a waft of his masculine scent. I still had no idea what it was, but it was officially my favourite scent.

"O-Okay." I gulped. Mr Grumpy in the day was scary. Now Mr Grumpy in the evening when everyone one should be sleeping, was even more scarier. In fact his voice gave me the shivers.

I then kicked the sheets away from my feet so that I wouldn't further embarrass myself. I walked carefully to my closet to retrieve some clothes and shoes then went to the bathroom.

I turned my bathroom lights on, my eyes winced a bit from the sudden exposure to light. I glanced away from the light bulb and began to put on my clothes.

As soon as I slipped on my outfit I peeked at the mirror situated in front of me. The mirror had blue and white elegant swirls almost like vines around the border.

I had on a cotton pink turtle neck long sleeve. I noticed how it clung a bit too tightly around my chest area. Eh. I had also slipped on a light blue skinny jeans which had about four rips on the bottom. I then added some brown ankle boots.

My hair was in a simple messy bun. I added some lip balm just to make sure that they weren't chapped. I moisture my face too as well because we can't have dry skin.

I mean people who have dry skin looks like chicken skin. No offence though.

I realised that I was taking a bit longer than I intended to and quickly walked out of my bathroom making sure to be quiet.

I expected Mr Grumpy to be sitting down on my bed while I dressed but was surprised that he was in the exact spot.

"Come." He said in a low rich baritone. Holy cow why did I just shudder?

"O-Okay." His watchful eyes darted around my outfit before he got up and swiftly moved to the corner of my room.

I raised my brows in confusion when he came back with my brown leather jacket.

"Put it on." He handed me the piece of clothing and again I just shrugged it on not understanding what was happening. "Let's go."

Speaking of going, where did he come from? The window? How the heck would he be able to get up from the ground, there wasn't any ladders or anything.

I got even more confused when I saw that he didn't walk towards the window but my door. I cautiously followed Mr Grumpy who in fact was basically a friend which I didn't know anything about.

He walked confidently and silently. He walked around my halls and down the stairs like he knew where everything was. What the heck?

I then discovered that Mr Grumpy had in fact walked right into my house tonight. Doesn't that mean he broke in? Oh my gosh, he's a criminal. Well he did kill those guys.

I still couldn't get over the fact that he had taken a life from someone.

"Mr Grumpy how did you even pick the locks?" I whispered out trying my best not to make any noise. My feet moved extremely slow and soft to ensure that I wasn't making any noise.

Mr grumpy grunted. I stopped talking.

I watched his back as he walked in front of me, we were now in the living room and then all of a sudden I let out out a sneeze.

Achoo.

Great. His body tensed at the abrupt sound and I covered my nose. Oh god he was gonna kill me.

Mr Grumpy glared at me and latched his hand onto my arm and we quickly walked towards the front door.

I was slightly disappointed when I didn't see his sick motorcycle. I was kinda hoping it was because I really enjoyed it the last time. It was so much fun.

I jumped up on the step and slid inside his car. Soon the loud purring of the car was heard and the heater was immediately active. I clicked my seatbelt on.

I figured Mr Grumpy didn't want to talk so I just hummed as he drove out of my driveway.

I fisted my hands around each other so I wouldn't be tempted to touch Mr Grumpy's face again.

I watched as the street lights turn in to blurry colour of how fast he was going. I'm just gonna play some colour switch. I slid my hands through my pockets and felt around more my Iphone.

I frowned when I felt nothing but candy wrappers. I sighed loudly in boredom. I forgot my phone.

* * * *

"Welcome to The Devils Dollhouse." A really really tall blonde haired girl approached us. Her hair was styled into an big afro. Her rich mocha skin was covered by her uniform; a tight purple crop top with her name on her left breast pocket, a black leather booty shorts with a pen and a pad attached to it, lastly she had bright pink sky high heels that made her seem even taller. She looked stunning.

She peered down at me and then looked up at Mr Grumpy. "Nice to see you Adrian."

"Monique." He nodded as his eyes darted around the packed crowd.

Sweat and lust was smelt though out the air as the loud music screamed at us. It looked like a night club.

The walls were a dark purply blue colour with sleek black chairs and tables scattered around the edges. The area was massive and open. Bright lights flashed everywhere.Everyone was dancing and grinding against each other.

Everywhere there were ladies who looked and dressed like dolls. They had colourful wigs with beautiful bows. Tight short dresses with neon colours. They walked with heels flaunting their skin towards the men around them.

"Haven't seen your fine ass here since last month." Monique sent him a flirty smile before she turned her head down to me again. She tapped her manicured nails against a table behind her.

She eyed me down slowly and bit her lip. "And who are you sexy mama? Mmm I love me some white chocolate you know baby girl."

I froze and my eyes widened to the size of basketballs. Ball is life.

Monique grinned at me at my frozen state. Holy cow is this lady hitting on me? "Ana." I felt extremely shy.

"Dayuum mami, you're too cute." She purrs at me and fluffs up her afro then escorts Mr Grumpy and I towards a sleek black stairs in one corner. Each black stir was coated with glossy layer.

"Baby girl are you and Adrian together?" Monique asks wiggling her finger at us as she stops walking.

"No." That was from Mr Grumpy. Monique looked satisfied and giggled at me.

"Adrian, Desi is upstairs waiting." Monique says gesturing for us to follow the stairs. "Bye Sugar." She winks at me and I feel my cheeks turn red.

I've never been hit on by another woman before. Ever.

My feet had just touched the surface of the stair when I felt a heated hand on my back. I peeped over my shoulder and saw that it was Mr Grumpy.

My stomach began to feel like a zoo of butterflies erupting. It felt like it was tumbling and turning over. Maybe it was a tsunami.

He glanced down to me and gave me a stare before he led me towards a black door which boldly said VIP. In front of the door was a stocky tall man who reminded me of Little Kenny.

"Kemp. Doors." Mr Grumpy says. I shudder as Kemp listens to Mr Grumpy. He seems like he has a lot of authority here. Actually Mr Grumpy's body practically screams confidence an authority.

"Desi is by the balcony room." Kemp pushes the door for us to walk in side. Kemp stare makes me notice that I don't fit in here with my turtle neck and jeans. I just shrug and give him a smile.

When we came inside there wasn't a big cloud of smoke like there was at The Cave. The room was painted black as well with a pretty pink and purple coloured couches scattered around the area.

Suited up men greeted Mr Grumpy and eyed me up as we walked through the sea of people. Soon we reached another a shimmery purple curtain. Mr Grumpy dropped his hand from my back and gazed at me. "Kid. Don't be scared, they'll smell it off you."

"O-Okay. Um Mr Grumpy why are we here?" I wondered what was waiting for us behind that door. I felt as if my heart was about to jump out of my chest and leap into someones mouth.

Okay that's gross. Also cannibalistic.

"You'll see kid. Now put a smile on that face."

His large hand pulled the curtain aside and left a gaping whole for us to squeeze in. Like Kemp said, we were outside on a white balcony and I could see was darkness with little blobs of light. I'm guessing there were lanterns on the trees.

Laughter filled the air when the curtain was moved but once we stepped in it stopped. Silence was placed upon us and I gazed at the men smoking at the table. I nervously looked at them.

There were three men sitting at the table and two security guards standing behind them. The guards both had an earpiece which they communicated through while they stared at me.

I felt flustered from all the attention from these males eyes.

There were two brunette guys sitting besides the middle on. One had brown eyes and the other one had dark blue eyes. They both had a cigar in their fingers letting out puffs of smoke.

The male in the middle was the only one not smoking. He laid back against his cushioned chair as he lazily sipped his glass of alcohol. He looked like he was in his late 20's. But that didn't stop him from look attractive. Very attractive. I blushed noticing that his eyes landed on mine.
