Chapter 15// Start of a plan!
~~~~~~
Rocky, Colt, Tum Tum and Aiden were in the living room together that evening wanting to start a plan or rescue. The thing is, they had no idea where to start. Rocky let open the sliding door behind them half way open so the fresh air could help them, the screen door would help keep the night bugs away.
They had a tray with tea and cookies on it to snack on. Grandpa was doing his own thing, cleaning up his house and getting ready for bed time.
Everyone was very quiet for a long time, that is until Rocky snapped his finger to wake everyone up.
"I got it!" He said with excitement. Everyone turns towards him with either a smile, worry or unison.
"Hey Aiden, remember the other day when we were outside in the woods and you were looking at the direction somewhere random and you where in a trance?" Rocky explains with an excited, eager tone.
Aiden's eyes widen and she shakes her head In agreement.
"Yeah?!"
"Well, do you think if we went out there now, do you think you can remember where it is? Maybe it's the direction towards the house you used to live in?"
Everyone stared at each other, staying silent for a while.
"That's perfect!" Aiden suddenly shrieked.
Rocky and Colt jumped slightly on the cushion couch.
"Really?"
"Yes! Let's try it out right now!"
Rocky licked his lips and took a deep breathe.
"Oh, o-ok. Let me grab us some flash lights and a weapon first." Rocky suggested.
Aiden stood up and pulled on his shoulder.
"Alright, lets go!" She said, happily.
Colt and Tum got up and followed the two outside or Grandpas cabin.
The night sky was singing with owls who-ing and crickets creaking in the bushes all around the grounds.
Rocky stayed close to Aiden and his protective mode was turned on. He controlled the flashlight and was making the light scatter across the forest floor.
"Do you remember which direction that you were staring at last time?" Aiden shook her head and glanced around.
"It might take you a while, I guess."
Colt and Tum Tum came running up to them with extra flashlights.
"We just let grandpa know what was going on so he wouldn't be upset. He said we have to be inside in an hour." Colt explained, taking a look at his black wrist watch. Rocky nodded his head in agreement.
"Ok!" He motioned for everyone to start walking again. Rocky made a mental note to stay away from the maze area.
Just then, the four of them stopped when they heard a loud tree snap close by!
Aiden held onto Rocky in fear and Colt and Tum Tum's eyes widen.
"Wh-what was th-that?" Aiden studdered.
"Probably a bunny...or a squirrel." Rocky answered, trying to make Aiden be brave.
They walked a little further into the woods and they finally came across a hill. Aiden stopped and she felt an odd, tingly sensation of worry flood through her whole body!
She yanked onto Rocky's arm and shivered.
She kept her eyes focused on the hill and her eyes became shaded, looking right at the top. Her face became still and serious.
Rocky recognized the look on her face and he turned around to look at his younger brothers.
"Shine more light up that hill, guys. I think this is the spot!" Rocky ordered.
Colt and Tum Tum did what he asked and as soon as the light landed on the trees way above them, Aiden could feel her heart beat faster.
"R-Rocky! It's up there." Aiden said shakily. Rocky rubbed her arms softly to comfort her.
"Okay, we aren't going up there tonight though or we will get lost for sure. Let's climb there first thing tomorrow morning!" Rocky said, putting his fist into the Center.
"Tomorrow morning!" Everyone agreed, copying Rocky's hand gestures and gave each other a small smile.
"Let's go to bed now and get lots of rest for tomorrow." Rocky ordered.
Everyone turned around and went back into the cabin, making sure no one would end up getting lost or trail behind.
Once inside Rocky got Aiden a nice warm glass of milk he drank with her to keep her calm and tucked her in, saying goodnight to her.
Before leaving she asked for a kiss goodnight, which made him blush.
Colt and Tum Tum were giggling, hearing the whole conversation.
Rocky gave her a small kiss on the head and told her to sleep well, tucking her in on the couch.
^^^The next morning^^^
The mornings grandpa excused Aiden from her ninja lessons and said she could skip today's since she had a traumatic time yesterday.
So she decided to clean the cabin for him and get everyone ready for going over the hill today after lessons.
Rocky has brought his green backpack from home and colt had his blue one. She went around the place, collecting things they might need to help them on their little mission.
If they found the house that Aiden used to live in, she wasn't going to rescue her sisters right away but she somehow wanted them to know she was looking out for them and coming to save them soon.
"Should I, leave them a note?" Aiden thought to herself.
She thought about it for a while. She wanted to tell her sisters she has amnesia but is starting to remember them and they she has met Rocky and his brothers, who are real ninjas and they are planning to rescue them!
She declared to write them a note to slip in through the window somehow!
She gathered first aid kits, some ninja weapons and she also made sandwiches and stuffed Tum Tums bag with candy just in case they needed lots of stuff.
Aiden didn't pack herself a bag because she felt safe just being with Rocky and his brothers.
She looks around the cabin for a piece of paper and pencil to write.
That moment, Rocky walked into the kitchen and found Aiden scurrying around in a slight panic.
"Aiden, what's wrong?" Rocky asked, his face is all sweaty and hot after training.
Aiden turns to face Rocky and the second he saw him glowing with sweat, she found her mouth flew open and her eyes glued to how handsome he looked. His pale skin was emphasized against the bright sunlight peeking through. It made her heart palpitate on the spot.
Rocky's sandy hair was brushed to the side and looked a little bit wet as well, mostly his bangs across his forehead and his blue eyes sparkles happily.
"I wanna write my sisters a letter to leave them when we find the house, In case we can't rescue them right away."
Rocky sighed and ran his fingers through his hair, thinking it over.
"It's a sweet thought but I don't think it's not a good idea." Rocky said, truthfully.
"Why n-not?" Aiden asked.
Rocky felt bad for her. He knew she wanted to make her sisters feel safe and all and tell them that she was coming to get them out of the house to safety.
"It's just, what if your step father finds it? Then he will know your coming to get them and he might plan to stop you." Rocky explained.
He was feeling bad about wrecking Aidens idea but Aiden understood completely.
"It's ok, that actually makes sense." She said. "I'm going to quickly get a shower and change and then we can head up the hill ok?" Rocky said.
Aiden slowly nodded and watched Rocky leave, she plopped onto the kitchen chair and stares longingly at the wall, thinking about her sisters.
Where they missing her and wondered what had happened to her? She was hoping that her step father wasn't still terrifying her siblings while she was away.
Rocky took about 20 minutes to shower and she had all the backpacks filled with plenty of stuff they needed for their journey. By the time she is done her whole body was shivering with nervousness from her head to her toes.
Colt and Tum Tum had their showers and once everyone was all set, they headed back outside towards the hill they were looking for last night.
Aiden was worried and her anxiety only grew higher the closer they got to the hill.
She grabbed onto Rocky's arm and he patted her shoulder.
"It's ok, Aiden! I promise you I won't let anyone or anything hurt you." He whispered. Aiden smiled at him and nodded.
The four of them began to climb the hill. To them it felt like hours when they made it to the top.
They had to be careful with the long, prickly tree branches that stretched out far and would almost poke them in the face. Rocky went ahead of Aiden and made sure to brush them out of the way and make sure his brothers got up safely, too.
Once at the top they were a little disappointed because their wasn't a house anywhere close by but a couple of winding paths that ventured through some thorn bushes. The four of them sighed and Colt piped up.
"What now, guys?" He asked in pure annoyance. He crossed his arms and saw Rocky thinking of a plan. He suddenly snapped his fingers.
"Aiden did you pack our walky talkies?" Rocky asked as he slid his backpack off and opened it.
"Yeah I'm pretty sure I did." Rocky found a pack of batteries and their walky talkies. He and Colt used to use them all the time when they were younger.
"Ok colt, take these and we will split up." Rocky orders. Colt nodded but was still annoyed for being bossed around.
"Ok."
"You and Tum go that way and Aiden and I will go this way. If you feel you find something worth telling us, turn on the walky talkie."
"Got it."
They all split up and went into their own direction. Rocky grabbed Aidens hand and they went on the left path.
"I hope we can find my sisters, Rocky." Aiden suddenly said in a quiet voice.
Rocky turned to fade her and smiled.
"Me too!" There were a ton of pine trees that were tall and thick as anything. At some point Rocky felt like the prickly pine was shocking him and yet he always loved nature.
"How much further?" Aiden was beginning to whine after they been walking for what felt like hours. Colt hadn't contacted them through the walky talkies in a long time and it made Rocky a little worried.
"Let's stop for a break and see what Colt and Tum are doing." Rocky suggested. Aiden agreed and right away she plopped onto the ground, taking a long breathe.
The two of them were sweaty and Rocky also brought out a tin can of water.
"Here, have some water." He handed it to her and took out the walky talkies.
"I hope my brothers are alright." Rocky thought out loud. Aiden took the tin can and spoke.
"Me too, Rock." She lay down and closed her eyes, listening to Rocky beside her. Enjoying the brief summer wind and bright sun beaming down on her.
"Come on Colt, this is Rocky. Got any updates?" Rocky questioned. The sound of static filled the air for a few minutes and then he felt relieved when he heard Colts voice on the other walky.
"Rocky this is Colt. I did a bad thing and gave Tum the power to control the compass. There isn't much to report back yet, we are still looking for any signs of a house. Over." Rocky sighed at this discovery and answered back quickly.
"Aiden and I are taking a little break from walking. You guys should stop for a bit, too. Over." Rocky turns off the walky talkie to save batteries and stuffed it back into the nap sack. Aiden passed him the jug of water to drink.
Then he sat and admired Aiden who seems to be falling asleep to the sound of the wind around them.
"Aiden?" Rocky checked to see if Aiden fell asleep and it looks like she did. He shook her slightly and she didn't even stir or make a sound.
Rocky sat in boredom and just stared at her angelic, sleeping figure in the grass. He loved watching her hair sweep against her sleeping face, and how her eye lashes looked longer against the bright sun shine.
How her cheeks looked so soft and rosie. How her chest rise and fall during her slumber when she was breathing, she looked incredibly beautiful in Rocky's eyes. He loved watching her sleep piecefully.
He lay down in the grass next to her and rest his head on his arm. He watched her sleep for a while and then thought what if he ventured off ahead a little, just to see if he could find anything that would help them find the house?
He decided to go ahead and just check out a little bit more. Rocky left his backpack behind, leaned in and kissed Aidens warm, glowing cheek.
"I'll be back in a few minutes, promise." He whispered back. Aiden's mouth formed a smile and she didn't move or woke up from her slumber.
Rocky smiled back and with that he got up and continued to walk further into the forest. He wanted to find the house and Aiden's sisters before she woke up.
He wanted to give her some kind of hope and happiness.
Rocky found himself in front of another steep hill once again but this one had a set of long stairs made out of rock and pieces of wood.
"Maybe it's up there." He thought out loud.
With that he climbed higher on the hill and the whole way he hoped he will find what they were looking for at the top.
It took Rocky a total of 15 minutes to get to the top, it was a lot longer than he had imagined. At the top he was relived to find a house a little further off in the distance.
He took a sigh of relief and slowly walked towards it, turning on the walky talkie.
Before talking, Rocky snuck around the yard and found a hiding spot behind what looked like a shed.
"Rocky to Colt, come in Colt." Rocky turned down the volume a little with his finger on the side and waited. He turned and kept his gaze on the front door.
Their was a large wooden porch that circled all the way around the house and tall square shaped pillars all along as well.
There weren't much decorated stuff on top or anything like chairs or tables to enjoy the outdoors. Rocky felt suspicions inside him.
His eyes grew excited and scared when he heard the door fling open and a tall man holding a beer bottle stumble outside.
He made a loud belch and grumble that ripped through Rocky's insides and made him tremble a little. He swore he could smell a foul odour from where he was hiding.
Rocky heard Colts voice finally come though the walky talkie.
"Hey Rocky, you there?"
"Hey Colt, I think i found the place we are looking for. I haven't seen any signs of Aidens sisters yet and I left Aiden all by herself so I can't be out long." He crouched closer to the ground and kept a close eye on the older man.
But the man was nowhere to he seen! Rocky stood a little taller and checked around in a panicked expression.
Before he knew it, he blacked out and all that he could remember is being hit on the head and the sound of heavy footsteps somewhere close by!
