It pains me that I cannot recall the sound of your voice,

The comfort of your arms or the kisses on my cheek,

Though I suppose I am not selfish for it wasn't my choice,

Nobody sounded the alarms and in the end it made me weak.

I wish I had more photographs to cherish,

More items to keep,

We all knew that you'd perish,

I'm so glad that you went peacefully in your sleep.

I'm missing you now more than I thought I would,

I would kill to see your face again,

My heart is breaking more than I thought it could,

I hope that I'll see you when my time also comes to an end.
