Antonio's POV
My mom had insisted that we dine out for lunch.
So on the car ride there it was sort of quiet but Joseph was telling me that I shouldn't of fired Miss Hand but what can I say?
When I'm frustrated or even lied to I tend to act on impulse.
When Mat brought my daughter to my office floor I was about to get real mad but my baby was around so I held it in.
but I didn't want Ellie to see that side of me.
So to my surprise she acted normal she probably didn't see me talk rudely to Miss Hand.
I parked my car and I held the door open for my daughter.
Our relationship has blossomed.
I think it's all the father instinct.
I haven't had any contact with other woman after the last s*x I had with Jenna.
It was pretty risky when we did that back then.
The worse case scenario was my daughter walking into my room while I was banging a woman on my bed or I was making out on the couch.
But nonetheless I stopped doing those.
I wasn't going to let my daughter see that.
It'll surely scar her.
So once we got situated at the table my mother had ordered drinks for us.
"Our product is pushed back" I said to my mother.
Then it was silent for a while till my daughter broke the silence.
"Daddy how was I made" she asked sipping on her chocolate milk.
I was busy taking a drink of water so I choked a bit.
I had been scared to explain that to her.
I am the world's wanted Bachelor but I couldn't bring myself to tell my baby girl how she was made.
"Baby you're a bit too young" I finally said.
To my delight she didn't push it and asked if I could help her choose a lunch she situated herself on my lap as I was looking then she pointed to the corndogs.

The meal with my mother was pleasant.
I had to drop Ellie back to school.
This time I'm going to take my time to observe the school.
But what caught my attention was the bruise on my daughter's knees.
She was wearing a skirt but while I picked her up I saw that bruise I grimaced.
Did someone hurt my baby?
"Baby why do you have a bruise on your knees" I asked before setting her on the ground.
We already bid my mother a farewell.
Then she did that thing whenever she was ashamed or scared.
"Daddy what do you mean? A bruise?" she innocently asks.
Yep something is bothering her.
"Princess did someone hurt you?" I asked, kneeling to her.
Then I saw kids come out of the building and went on the playground.
"Daddy I have to go to school!" she says attempting to run towards the other children.
I stood back up and spun her around.
"Not till you tell me" I said giving her my look.
"I-I- tripped! Yes I tripped!" she replies.
I sighed.
If she wishes to not tell me I'll have to ask her tonight.
While standing by my car I was watching her walk to the kids then I saw this bratty looking girl coming up to my daughter.
I looked down to my phone but really I was looking at what would unfold.
"I bet your daddy is ashamed of you!" that bratty girl says.
I clenched my fist.
"Leave me alone" my daughter said.
"And if I don't? You should die" the bratty girl sneers and pushes my daughter to the ground.
That's when I lost it. I put my phone away.
I walked to them.
Then that bratty girl just completely put on a the fakest smile.
"I was going to help her up" the girl said.
I ignored her.
"Baby are you okay?" I said while helping her up.

She looked away from me.
The bratty girl gasped a little but then proceeded to say she was going to help my daughter.
"Ellie are you alright?" that brat asks in a kind voice.
This girl was a two-faced b*tch.
"Raevynn why are you being kind now" my daughter asked her.
"me ? I always been kind!" the brat exclaims.
"T-then why did you break my barcelette" my daughter quivers.
"Ellie I didn't do it" The brat says.
I was really losing it.
She broke my daughter's bracelet.
"Tell me why beads were all over the ground. It was for my daddy" My daughter clenched her fist.
Father like daughter I thought.
That Brat named Raevynn basically broke my present!
"Miss Raevynn, I'm not sure if we met. But I am Ellie's father. By what I'm hearing. You've been rude" I said each sentence with hate.
Then the girl trembled.
"Daddy I sorry I lied" Ellie puts her head on my stomach as she looked up at me.
She was growing too fast it seems.
I remember she was below my waist! Now she's grown.
"Baby it's okay don't lie if you're hurt okay? I love you" I said then my daughter jumped and gave me a besito (Little kisses).
I chuckled.
I had forgot that the brat was watching us.
"I'll stay around" I said since I did not want to head back to HQ.
"Daddy come play with me!" my daughter exclaims and drags me by my hand.
She seems to be more excited to have me play with her at school rather than at home...
Oh my is she showing me off? I grinned.
We made it to the playground and most of the kids were looked at me.
Then one of the teachers supervising I'm guessing saw me.
She was staring at me.
Like this teacher was hitting on one of her students.
Clearly my daughter noticed.
So she began to do her usual 'pay attention to me daddy' "daddy daddy! Push me on the swing" she says.
"Of course baby" I said then I gently pushed her I didn't want a repeat of what happened 3 years ago.
Then my daughter said to stop and she made her way to that teacher who was eyeing me.
"Daddy this is Miss Poppy!" my daughter says.
"Hello, Miss Poppy" I said in a neutral tone which send her blushing.
"Hi Ellie's father, I am her art teacher" she introduces.
"It's good to know my daughter is under good care" I said and ruffling Ellie's hair.
Then she gave me a why-did-you-do-that.
"Daddy my hair is a mess now" she pouts.
So I knelt to her level.
"Baby I'm sorry would you like me to tie it in a ponytail?" I asked and Miss Poppy was looking at us adoringly.
****
School had ended for Ellie and I picked her up after I went back into my office and I wasn't the least happy however after spending time with my daughter I wasn't as angry.
"Chairman" my employees said. It had been a habit whenever something bad happens they would try their best to avoid any conflicts.
While I walked back I saw Camille.
I knew what happened this morning probably didn't settle well with her.
I decided to stop and grab a cup of coffee.
I set it on her desk while she was busy typing away.
Then she looked up.
"It's for this morning." I said. Then I walked into my office.
Antonio what just happened.
Why would you bother? It's as if my daughter was controlling me.

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
