Thump, Thump, Thump, the rain splattered onto the pavement of the city as she ran, her body had been weak and being 5 years old didn't help.
She has been running for the last two hours from her once loving father who she admired and adored only to find out he has a different side.
It had been 2 years of her mother being gone he's been different.
while she was lost in her thoughts of why she is running, her father was getting closer and closer.
she inhaled as her body was running through the city streets.
Most people were bystanders they just kept to their business.
she ran till she was exhausted.
she had looked back and she didn't see her father anywhere.
Then as she turn her head to look at her surrounding her father was only 20 feet away.
she gulped.
The traffic light just turned red and a crowd of people began to walk.
she jogged towards the crowd and she had bumped into a masculine and tall person, she didn't say much due to her selective mute upon the death of her mother, she slowly looked behind herself not bothering with the person she ran into and her father was edging closer.
gradually she had looked up at the person she bumped into.
The person's eyes showed curiosity, at first she was put in trance with the person's eyes but then she regained her focus and she scurried away.
due to her being small she slid in between the fences and hid in the alleyway making sure her father wasn't anywhere near her.
she wasn't sure why father was acting this way.
He began drinking and she thought it was to cope with the loss of her mother but it continued.
she was sad that mother was gone too.

But that's when he began to hit her.
Every night he came back from the bar and threw glass bottles at her.
At first she thought it would help her father but it was the complete opposite her father didn't get better he got worse.
But she loved her father too much to go ask help.
But she felt a stab of betrayal.
One time he grabbed his belt and began to whip her on her back and even stripped her of her clothes.
she curled up it was beginning to rain.
Her entire body had ached.
she was wishing that her mother would save her and take her with her.
As she was consumed into darkness and her night terror that she felt being lifted.
Am I on my way to heaven? she thought.
