《Devil's Rebellious Queen》Chapter 22

I knocked on the door of his room.

After a few seconds, the door opened and he appeared.

Lucifer King.

His eyes wandered to Dante and me and turned visibly darker. Man, for a 40 year old man he was really well built. His jaw clenched seeing me and I could see his posture stiffen. He was wearing a casual white button up shirt with black jeans.

"Come in," he said curtly, extending the door for us.

What the hell?

I thought he would be like those typical over protective, angry dads...

Nevertheless, I walked into the room and motioned Dante to follow me. By Dante's expressions, I could conclude that he was scared of Lucifer. It would be stupid not to be.

Lucifer motioned us to sit on the sofa and we obliged. Not a word was spoken till yet. Lucifer sat on the chair in front of us, placing his left leg over his right knee.

"So, let's begin, shall we?" he finally spoke.

Begin what?

Nonetheless, I nodded.

"Why did you abduct my daughter?" he asked, gripping the arms of the chair tightly.

"Okay, first off, I did not abduct her this time. I simply saved her from those Germans," I clarified.

He narrowed his eyes and leaned back on his chair.

"I love Xena, sir...," I trailed off.

He chuckled humorlessly. "Love? You love her? You can't love someone you don't know."

"I know her. When I first kidna-met her, I truly acquainted with her," I began, refraining myself from using the word kidnapped, "Xena is a bold person, fearless as well," I continued.

Something flashed in Lucifer's eyes, but it went as quick as it came. Perhaps pride, I guess.

"And what do you intend to do in the future?" Lucifer asked, leaning back on his chair.

"I wanted marry her," I answered in a heartbeat.

"Marry her?" Lucifer repeated, "You really think I'll let you marry my daughter?"

"I wanted to marry her, and, of course, still do, but I'm planning on letting her go this time. I don't want history to repeat itself."

Lucifer hummed. "We'll see about that," he said, with an unknown emotion in his tone. He then faced Dante.

"Now, you're the one who 'claimed' Ysaline as his, am I right?" Lucifer asked.

Dante nodded confidently, but if you were more observant, you would notice his legs trembling.

Lucifer clicked his tongue. "Ysaline is like my own daughter. Hurt her in any way, and I will kill you," Lucifer threatened, promising those words.

I could see how petrified Dante was but he did a fabulous job in covering it. Lucifer turned back to me.

"The same goes for you as well," he said, "Hurt Xena, and I will make you beg for death."

"I won't harm Xena, sir. I would rather die," I said truthfully. Lucifer hummed.

Suddenly, his posture tightened and his eyes turned darker. As if a beast was unleashed within. His eyes swirled with grey orbs, a huge storm brewing beneath.

Lucifer stood up and took a step forward. Clearing my throat, I stood up from the sofa as well.

Damn, he was tall.

The next second I found my face whipped to the left.

Ouch!

That hurt like a bitch.

I've had several people hit me before, after which I tortured them to death, but nothing ever hurt this badly. But then again, he was the king of the American mafia.

A warm liquid trickled down my lip and I wiped it off with my thumb. My cheek throbbed with agony and stung severely. I lifted my head to meet the death glare of Lucifer's.

Every cell of my body screamed to kill and murder him but...I couldn't force myself to even slap him, leave murdering. Probably because he was Xena's father.

Lucifer then turned to Dante with an enraged look. He raised his knee and hook kicked him. Dante groaned and tumbled down on the floor, clutching his bruised abdomen.

Damn, Lucifer knows karate as well.

He turned to me but I raised both my hands in surrender. I expected him to fight me, or scream curses at me, but he did no such things. Lucifer simply sat down on the chair, placing his right leg over his left knee.

I walked over to Dante and helped him get up.

A question crossed my mind.

A rumor was spread that Lucifer King had forcefully married his wife, Rylee. No one knows how far these gossips are true. But what better way to clarify than asking the person himself?

"Lucif-Sir, it's said that you married your wife, um, forcefully," I began, internally slapping myself for asking this.

Lucifer raised his brow. "And?"

"And, "I urged, "Is it true?"

A small grin broke out on his face. "Hmm, it is," he clarified, shutting his eyes as if reliving those times.

"Rylee and I were college sweethearts. We dated each other in college for 2 years and truth to be told, those were some memories. She was not one of those damsel in distresses who submitted easily, no, not at all. On the other hand, she was fiery, feisty, bold. I loved her. She loved me as well. But everything broke apart when she found out the truth...about me and the mafia. She broke up with me, ran away to Sydney. Long story short, I brought her back and married her forcefully."

Wow. That's a lovely story. How romantic.

"Rylee knows how it's like for someone to force you into loving them. She clearly isn't fond of that. Xena is our only child. We don't want history to repeat itself. Now, I want you to hand over Xen. By today."

I shook my head. "I want to spend more time with her, sir. You have my word, I'll let her go the moment she recovers fully."

He just nodded. "We'll see..."

"Questo è stato un discorso interessante," I muttered.

(This was an interesting talk)

"Lo era davvero," Lucifer replied.

(It really was)

My jaw hung.

What.

The.

Hell?

"You understand Italian?" I asked in shock. He grinned and nodded.

"Wait...that means Xena can too?" I yelled further.

He paused for a second and then shook his head as 'no'.

I let out a sigh of relief. Thank god, otherwise she would have understood everything I said to her.

"This was a lovely chat, Enzo, but you need to leave. Now. Otherwise I'll be compelled to do something I'll regret later," he said sternly.

What? He's telling us to leave already?

I took a deep breath and nodded.

I motioned Dante to follow me and he seemed relieved to finally get away. We were about to step out of the door when Lucifer's voice stopped us.

"And yes, don't think I'll let this matter go easily. Xena is my daughter, and so is Ysaline," he snarled and shut the door on our faces.

I just stood there, processing our full conversation.

Wow.

This fucking son of a bitch Enzo thinks he can kidnap Xena and get away with it.

I chuckled when Enzo bought my lie. He thinks Xena doesn't know Italian?

Oh, how wrong he is.

She's extremely fluent in Italian, French, Spanish, and German.

I'm pretty sure Xena kept that hidden from him so she could decipher his talks and pass on the information to my mafia.

She just needs to stay strong and have hope. She's capable of surviving this. I'm sure she is.

And as for Enzo...

He doesn't know what's coming for him.
