《Devil's Rebellious Queen》Chapter 9

"I need 2 guns."
Dimitri raised his brow but nevertheless, removed the gun from his holster and tossed it to me.
I caught it with 1 hand and scanned it.
Lovely.
One of my favorites; Glock 23.
Lydia removed the gun from her holster as well and threw it to Ysaline, who caught it effortlessly.
"You have a silencer?" I asked. Dimitri nodded and tossed 2 silencers from his pockets to us.
"I'm not even gonna ask why you carry silencers in your pockets," I muttered, placing the silencer on my gun, Ysaline doing the same.
"So you're planning on murdering Enzo and Dante?" Dimitri asked, leaning against the couch.
I shook my head. "Nope. The guns are for killing the men who come in the way of our escape. And also, for our safety as well."
Dimitri hummed.
Well, if Enzo and Dante try to stop us, I will have no choice but to shoot them.
"And where are you planning on hiding the guns?" Lydia continued asking.
Good question.
"I have no clue," I admitted with a groan, "but I'll find some place to hide it in."
"Xe, let us help you," Dimitri said in desperation.
"No," I sighed, "The last thing we need is the Italian mafia attacking yours."
"Touché," He muttered with a nod.
"So, guys, let's watch Netflix!" Lydia squealed with an excited grin, "After so long we 4 are together...let's make the most of it."
I smiled and agreed.

"NO! No, no, no!" Lydia yelled, covering her mouth with her palm.
"Shit," Ysaline cursed, staring wide-eyed at the screen.
Dimitri and I shared a look and rolled our eyes.
"Calm down, girls. It's just a movie," He tried explaining.
"No! Its not just a movie," Lydia whined, silent sobs wracking her body.
"THIS WAS SUCH A SAD ENDING!" Ysaline bawled, throwing a popcorn at the TV screen. Lydia nodded, wrapping her arms around Ysaline and sobbing over her shoulder.
I scooted closer to Dimitri.
"I told you it was a horrible idea to watch The Notebook with them. Ysa and Lydia are way too emotional," I whispered, staring at the crazy girls.
Dimitri nodded, agreeing with me. "You should see how Lydia acted during the end of The Fault in our stars. On top of that, she was on the time of her month," He whispered back, shuddering at the last sentence.
Aww, poor Dimitri.
"I hate this!" Lydia yelled, making Dimitri and me jump.
"Me too!" Ysaline added, hugging Lydia tighter.
"Ysaline, as much as I'm into Lesbian romance, I suggest you distance yourself from my wife," Dimitri said, clearing his throat.

Lydia rolled her eyes and moved closer to Ysaline.
"Bro, are you seriously jealous of Ysa?" I asked him incredulously.
He just shrugged.
I mentally cursed myself for having horrible taste in guy friends.
"This movie is the opposite of perfection!" Ysaline shrieked, clearly disturbed by the ending.
Dimitri sighed. "I guess there's no such thing as perfection."
I frowned and gestured to myself. "Do your eyes even work?"
Dimitri rolled his eyes but I noticed the faint smile playing on his lips.
"Oh, guys, wanna hear a joke?" Lydia suddenly asked, straightening up her back.
"Looks like you married a bipolar ass bitch," I whispered to him side-eyed.
Dimitri stared Lydia and nodded, horrified.
"Guys!" Lydia yelled, when no one answered, "I asked whether you wanted to hear a joke."
"I'm more into dark humor," I spoke up.
Lydia nodded with a pondering look and got up, and walked towards the switch board. She turned off the lights and darkness fell over the hall. Satisified, Lydia sat back down on the couch.
"So, the joke goes-"
"Lydia!" I yelled incredulously, "I did not mean that literally!"
Did she just switch of the lights in order to tell a dark joke?
Wow.
"What did the blanket say as it fell of the bed?" She asked, an excited grin plastered on her face.
We 3 shrugged.
"Oh sheet."
Huh?
Oh.
Ysaline was the only, I repeat, the only one to laugh at that.
"Mind telling me how you fell in love with her?" I whispered, watching my 2 girl friends laugh over the lame joke.
Dimitri shrugged. "She's crazy...but she's mine."
I smiled and nodded.
"You know, falling in love was the best thing that has ever happened to me," He said with a soft look across his face.
"Mhm..."
"People haven't quite figured out what love is yet. But you know when it's there...you just feel it."
"Who are you and what have you done to my best friend?" I teased, smacking his chest, chuckling at the love-struck puppy.
"Why are you still single?" He suddenly asked, gazing at me intently, "Too pretty to be single, eh?"
"Nah, too pretty to be messed with," I smirked.
He chuckled, as if impressed.
"But you're a princess. Literally...the American mafia princess. Who's gonna be your prince, huh?"
I shook my head at him. "Why settle for a prince when you deserve a king?"
His lips curved up into a grin. "I love your witty replies. Fine...then who's your king, then?"
I smiled.

"Every queen wants a king, but doesn't need one. Don't get it twisted, because this queen," I pointed to myself, "Can run the castle by herself."
Dimitri raised his brow and his grin widened.
"You know, my mom always used to tell me that 'A boyfriend won't make you a queen. Study hard, and only then you can you become one.' And my dad always told me that 'I don't have to marry a prince to be a princess when I'm the daughter of a King and Queen.'"
"Your replies are quick-witted," He commented with a smile, "and your parents are absolutely right."
"I know they are," I said with a shrug.
"Babe! It's late! We gotta leave! Our flight for Moscow leaves in an hour!" Lydia suddenly yelled, standing upright.
"Oh fuck," He cursed, checking the time on his watch.
He then turned to me. "Ysa, Xe, are you sure you don't want us to help?"
I nodded. "But just do me a favor and inform my dad that I'll be reaching home soon."
Hearing that, he chuckled and nodded. "Sure."
"Hey, we are leaving for the airport right now. Why don't you both come with us?" Lydia asked.
"No," I sighed, "Enzo has ordered the guards not to let Ysaline and me leave the mansion. It's fine. I'll find a way to escape...soon."
We hugged each other tightly, not knowing when we would meet again.
"Bye guys, love ya!" Lydia said, scurrying through the gate.
"Bye, Di," I muttered, hugging him one last time.
The doors shut and we were back in captivity.
"So, where do we hie the guns?" Ysaline asked, staring at her Glock 19.
Wracking my brain for a suitable place, I smirked.
"Follow me," I instructed, rushing up the stairs to Enzo's room, AKA, my cage.
I walked into the walk in closet and strode over to the female section. My eyes scanned over the rack of coats and I removed one from the hanger.
I grinned after I saw the the coat had an inside pocket. A large one, that too.
I placed my gun into the right inside-pocket and put Ysaline's gun into the left one.
I, then, hung the coat back into the hanger, in it's place.
"You're a genius," She muttered, smiling at the hiding place with awe.
"Girls! We're home!"
I groaned after hearing the voice of my nightmare.
Did I ask?
Rolling our eyes, Ysaline and I hopped down the stairs to face those idiots.
We walked down and saw Enzo and Dante sitting on the couch looking like lost puppies.
They saw us and their eyes lit up.
Wow.
"Where are Dimitri and Lydia?" Dante asked, scanning the empty hall.
"They left, duh," I replied, with a shrug.
"Good you didn't ask them for help," Enzo said with a smile.
Oh yeah? But the gun hidden in your room says a different story...
"Alright, I'm sleepy. Today was exhausting," Enzo yawned.
"Alrighty, then. Ysa, let's go," I said and was about to walk into the guest room when I found myself dangling off a sharp shoulder.
I groaned as Enzo carried me up the stairs, back to his room. He finally put me down and smiled.
Rolling my eyes, I walked into the walk-in closet. I pulled out a loose tank top and comfy pj's. I changed and freed my hair from the bun.
I quickly checked whether the guns were still hidden and, thankfully, they were.
I walked out of the closet and saw him lying on the bed. He had changed into a white loose shirt and sweats. I reluctantly got into the bed beside him.
Forcefully wrapping his arms around my waist, Enzo pulled me to his rock-hard chest.
"Sweet dreams, mi amore," He whispered before turning off the night lamp.
Soon enough, I found myself drifting into the sweet abyss.
Darkness was all I could see...
"Xena..."
My ears perked up and I tried following the voice, despite the murkiness.
A figure stood forth. A girl. Her chocolate curls partially hid her eyes.
"You could have saved me...," She whispered, gazing at me with tearful eyes.
"Is-is it you?" I asked, taking a step forward, "A?"
"You could have saved me," She repeated, louder, this time, "You could have saved me!"
I staggered down to my knees, placing my palms on the ground.
"I-I couldn't," I sobbed, "I tried! I tried!"
"This is all your fault!"
"I'm sorry," I cried out, clutching my chest, "I'm so, so sorry."
I tried stepping forward but I couldn't move a muscle. I fisted my hands, trying to put pressure on my foot, but I remained stuck.
"I trusted you...," She whispered, before darkness swallowed her whole....
"A!" I yelled, jolting up.
I looked around the room frantically, trying to find her.
Taking deep breaths, I calmed down as realization struck me.
"It's not real, you're fine, it's not real," I muttered over and over again.
"Xena," Enzo's deep voice called out, "I heard you yell."
He rubbed his eyes, trying to get the sleep out of his system.
"Uh, ya, just a nightmare," I lied, laying down back on the bed.
"You sure?" He asked softly, wrapping his arm around me.
His touch felt warm in the chilly room.
I nodded and shut my eyes.
"As you say...," He trailed off, spooning me.
Within a second, I drifted into a deep slumber, with only 1 thing resonating in my ears:
