《Devil's Rebellious Queen》Chapter 2

I hopped to dad's office and strode in, not bothering to knock.
Ah, I would never get bored of seeing his marvelous office. It showed a fantastic aerial view of the city.
Dad was behind his desk, seated on his leather black, cushiony chair. Anger flashed in his eyes when he heard that someone just barged into his office without knocking but softened once he saw it was me.
"Hey dad," I greeted, plopping down on the soft couch.
"What do you want?" He cut to the chase, putting down the file he was reading.
I mentally chuckled. He knew me so well.
I gasped dramatically. "Why do you always assume that? Why can't I talk to my dear dad just because I want to?"
He raised his brow. "Dear dad, huh? Now I'm 100% sure you want something. Spill it."
I grumbled and rolled my eyes. "I wanna," I cleared my throat, "Have a boyfriend."
I shut my eyes, expecting a huge scolding; 'No! My daughter won't have a boyfriend!' as I knew how overprotective he was.
But silence sustained..
Huh?
I peeled my eyes open and saw dad sitting coolly against his chair.
"Alright," He said calmly and got back to reading his files.
My eyes doubled. "Really?" I asked, my mouth wide open.
He nodded, not looking up from the files.
"Of course you can have a boyfriend, because," He paused and looked at me, leaning back on his chair, "I know that if he cheats on you, or insults you, you will whoop his ass and he will end up in the hospital the very next minute. You'll handle it well."
I smiled, knowing what he said was true. I never allowed anyone, especially a guy, insult me. "So, I can have a boyfriend?" I asked to confirm once again.
He nodded. "But," He continued, "if you fail to beat him up, I will step in. And trust me, that guy will not like it," Dad muttered darkly.
I nodded. He was extremely over protective over me.
"Xena and Lucifer King!" Mom's stern voice suddenly yelled.
Dad and I froze. We looked at each other with wide eyes. Mom called me 'Xena' instead of 'Xe' and called him 'Lucifer' instead of his nickname, 'Luc.' This definitely meant mom was angry.
"What did you do?" We asked at the same time.
"Me? I didn't do anything," I said with a scowl. "Neither did I," Dad snapped.
The door of his office slammed open and mom walked in. Dad stood up from his chair and I stood up from the couch.
Mom had a stern look on her face which made us both cower down.
"Josh told me something," She began, crossing her arms over her chest.
Josh.
Oh, our so loyal security guard.
Note the sarcasm?
That bastard's a snitch. He never keeps secrets. Anytime a boy comes to visit me, he instantly calls my mom to inform her. Josh must have snitched about something.
"And guess what he told me?" She asked, looking at dad and then at me, "He checked the CCTV footage and saw that you both snuck out at 10 p.m. and reached home at 3 a.m. yesterday."
Dad and I shared a look.
I definitely snuck out yesterday...but not with dad. Where did he go, then?
"Dad and I had gone to visit aunt Sky," I lied smoothly. Aunt Skylar was Mom's best friend, but they were more likes sisters. Uncle Ford was Skylar's husband.

"At 3 a.m.?" Mom asked, not believing what I said.
I nodded. "She was unwell and uncle Ford wasn't at home as well, so she called us for help," I continued lying.
"I see," Mom muttered with a nod and then walked out of the office.
Dad and I let out a huge sigh of relief.
He then turned to me with a sharp look.
"Where were you so late at night?" He asked, raising his brow.
I smiled sheepishly. "At the club with Ysaline and Gabriel," I admitted.
He shook his head and chuckled.
But then, realization struck me.
"Wait, wait, wait. Where were you so late at night?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.
He gulped. "Uh, library," He lied.
I rolled my eyes. "Library? Seriously? Dad, I saved our asses back there and saved you from mom's scolding. And here you are, lying to me."
Now, he rolled his eyes. "Drama queen," He muttered softly but I heard it.
"I was with Ford and Andrew...at the casino," Dad finally confessed.
Ford and Andrew, dad's best friends.
I nodded with a smile.
"For saving you, you need to take me out on a date tomorrow," I negotiated.
We both had many father-daughter dates before. He took me to waterparks, restaurants, carnivals, and more.
Dad smiled. "Alright, Xe. Where do you wish to go?"
I shrugged. "That's up to you," I replied and he nodded.
I was about to walk out of his office but stopped. "And yes, if you cancel the date because of your mafia or business work, I'll tell mom who ate her cupcakes," I blackmailed and then dashed up the stairs to my room.
I could hear dad shout from his office and I chuckled. I laid on my bed and picked up the book I was reading before.
"Xena!" Mom called out. I groaned and got up from the comfortable position I was just lying in. I walked down.
I regretted it as I saw mom and dad kissing.
Ew.
Dad's arms were wrapped around mom's waist possessively.
I cleared my throat and they instantly pushed each other away.
Mom's cheeks were red in embarrassment while dad looked everywhere in the room, not meeting my eyes.
"You called?" I asked mom, dismissing what happened earlier.
Mom nodded and cleared her throat. "Can you go get milk?"
I stared at her unbelievably. "Seriously? Ask one of the men."
"No, you're a grown-ass woman. Be independent," She scolded.
I looked at dad for help, but he gave me an apologetic look, not daring to go against mom. I glared at him and he glared back.
"Fine," I gave in. I wore my beige coat and ankle boots. It was freezing in Paris.
I walked out of the house, shutting the door behind me. I walked through the deserted alley. Unfortunately, that was the shortest way to the supermarket.
Suddenly, a group of 3 men appeared from nowhere. I didn't think much of it and continued walking until a guy grabbed my wrist.
"Lâche-moi, bâtard," I snarled, pulling my wrist away from his hold.
(Let go of me, bastard)
"Oh, babe. Why don't you let us have a taste of you," The guy asked sickly while the other 2 nodded, licking their lips.
I groaned. I can't fight men like them everyday.

"Look, I am in no mood of killing today, so kindly get lost," I said with a bored look.
The guy still persisted and wrapped his strong arms around me. I sighed.
"Sorry mom," I muttered before banging his head on the wall harshly. He shrieked clutching his bleeding head.
The other 2 looked shock and launched at me. I ducked and hooked my arms around his foot and pulled forward, making him drop to the ground. The third guy took out a gun from the pocket and aimed it at me while smirking. I yawned in boredom.
"Do you know what this is?" He asked, motioning to the gun with a sick grin. "Glock 19," I replied simply.
"Oh and yeah, that's a fake one," I added.
His jaw dropped down to the ground. I smirked before backhanding him and shoving the gun out of his hands. I kicked him in the gut making him spit out blood.
"All done," I announced and resumed my journey yet again.
I walked into the supermarket and bought 4 cartons of milk, along with a swiss army knife for me. I carried all the stuff to the cashier. She looked terrified upon seeing me.
"Ma-Ma'am, you can take it for free," She stuttered. I rolled my eyes.
People were terrified of my family. We were the leaders of the American mafia, the most powerful one. Yeah, even though we controlled the American mafia, we operated from Paris.
That's because mom loved France, so dad decided to shift here. For my mom and me, dad could do anything. Not kidding. He literally bought a black obsidian crown for my mom and that costed over a billion dollars. He even bought a bloody private island for my 16th birthday.
My dad, Lucifer, was the King while my mom, Rylee, was the Queen. They ruled the mafia empire really well, if you ask me. I was the mafia princess, soon to be queen.
"I'll pay for it," I said sternly and removed the cash from my wallet and paid for the stuff.
I carried the bag and walked out of the supermarket. Humming a song I heard yesterday, I walked across the streets.
"Diable!" I suddenly heard someone yell.
I instantly knew who it was.
Only one person called me Diable, which meant Devil in French. Well, it's not wrong.
Ysaline. She was my future second in command.
Ysaline came running up to me with an angry look in her face. What crawled up her ass this morning? Probably a blonde French dude. Hehe.
"What's up with you," I asked, lightly hitting her shoulder.
Her lips were swollen and bleeding and her hair was messy. She fumed in anger.
"I went to this flower shop to gift Denis a rose," She began. Denis was her boyfriend for 2 years.
"The suddenly, out of nowhere, this random guy comes up to me and kisses me!" She ended with a frustrated yell.
My mouth hung open. Someone kissed her?
She rubbed her lips hardly, probably trying to remove that guy's touch.
"Didn't you slap him or what?" I asked.
Knowing Ysaline, she probably did.
"I did and I don't regret it. He was probably Italian, or Spanish, judging by his accent," She replied, "he said something like 'ti avrò presto' if I heard correctly."
"I have no idea what that means," I said with a shrug.
"Oooh, let's go to the club," She said excitedly.
"Nah, we went to the club yesterday. I wanna go somewhere peaceful today."
"The beach?" She suggested and I nodded eagerly.
We walked back to my home, chatting about different topics.
"Mom, I'm back!" I announced, removing my shoes.
"Tante Rylee!" Ysaline called out.
Tante meant Aunt in French.
Seconds later mom appeared with a bright smile.
"Ysa, how are you dear?" She asked cheerfully, giving her a warm hug.
"I'm good. Comment vas-tu?" Ysaline asked.
"Je vais bien," Mom replied.
"Yeah, yeah. Forget about your own child," I pouted.
They looked at each other and chuckled.
"Mom, I'm going to the beach with Ysa," I informed.
She narrowed her eyes at me. "No."
"What? Why not?" I whined.
"You have work to do," She said sharply.
"Alright, I have a meeting. Ysaline, you and Xena will not step out of the house before completing your tasks, is that clear?"
Ysaline and I groaned but nodded. We walked up to my room and fell on the bed with irritation.
"You know what, Ysa?" I called out.
"Hm?"
"Let's sneak out," I suggested with a smirk.
She giggled and nodded. "Typical Xena. Such a rebel."
I changed into a loose white sweater and sap green cotton shorts. I wore soft sandals and tied my hair into a messy bun. Ysaline was a cute blue crop top and denim shorts.
I saw mom's car drive off from the window and I grinned. It was time.
"Let's go!" I yelled. We rushed down the stairs and were about to open the door when dad stopped us.
"Xe, Ysa," He called out and we walked to him.
"Yeah dad?" I asked.
"Where are you guys going?" He asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Beach. We informed mom already," I lied.
"Oh really?"
I gulped and nodded. He tried to look intimidating but soon cracked a smile.
"Alright. Go and have fun. You're secret's safe with me," He said, pretending to zip his mouth.
Ysaline and I sighed in relief.
"Oh, and when you return, could you bring-"
"Whiskey?" I cut him off with a grin. He chuckled and nodded.
"Yep. Ryl banned me from drinking because I insulted Johnny Depp," He said with a sigh making Ysaline and me gasp.
"Don't worry, dad. I'll fulfill your temptations," I assured.
"Thanks. Oh, and yeah, don't forget to carry your gun," He reminded.
I nodded and placed my gun into my holster and walked out of the house.
I got into the driver's seat of my Lamborghini, and Ysaline sat beside me in the passenger's.
I rolled down the window, my hair flying around due to the wind. I switched on the radio and we sang along with the lyrics.
"They say he likes a good time!" I yelled, taking a sharp turn to the left.
"My oh myyyy!" Ysaline joined. We started singing together.
"He comes alive at midnight!"
"My oh myyyy!"
"My mama doesn't trust him!"
"My oh myyyy!"
"He's only for one thing but-"
"So am I!"
We chuckled and swayed along with the song.
"We reached," I said, unbuckling the seatbelt.
"Yas!" She exclaimed running across the sand.
I chuckled and removed my sandals. I walked on the soft sand, letting my toes run along it.
I removed the cans of beer from the trunk of my car and carried it out. I was 22, and more than legal to drink beer.
We sat on the sand, drinking and chatting.
Soon enough, gold rays of sun kissed the horizon before setting, giving a majestic view. The moon solely illuminated the starry sky. It was as if the night fell just so that the moon could shine.
"Ra ra, ah ah ah ah," Ysaline suddenly started singing. I joined her.
"Roma, roma-maa!"
"Gaga oh lalaaa!"
"WANT YOUR BAD ROMANCE!" We yelled together. We burst out laughing.
Ysaline was my sister. Her mom, Alexia, and my mom were cousins.
Ysaline and I sat silently in the tranquil weather. I smiled as I closed my eyes, inhaling the frosty December air. I sighed in content. The cool gust of wind made my brown locks wave across my face, hampering my vision. I giggled and tucked them behind my ear.
"Xe, I'm sleepy," Ysaline said, compressing a yawn. I yawned after her and nodded.
Looking at the serene beach one last time, we threw the empty beer bottles into the dustbin and turned to walk back to the car.
Suddenly, I heard a leaf crunch behind me.
I stiffened and my hand instinctively reached down to my gun, perfectly tucked into the holster. I motioned Ysaline to be quiet and she nodded, taking out her gun too.
I gripped it tightly and turned around. I couldn't see anything due to the midnight darkness. The only source of light was the bright, illuminating moon shining brightly in the night sky.
"Who's there?" I asked loudly, no trace of fear in my voice.
No one answered.
"I asked, who's there?" I repeated sternly.
Once again, no one answered.
I sighed and tucked the gun back and resumed my steps but forgot that I'd left my phone back at the beach.
"Ysa, just stay in the car. I forgot my phone," I instructed.
She nodded and sat inside the car. I walked to the same spot on the beach and picked up my phone. I dusted the sand of my screen and placed it into my pocket. I was about to walk back when I heard a deep, husky voice.
"Hello there."
I abruptly turned around and saw a shadowy figure. The person's face wasn't very clear due to the midnight darkness.
"Yes?" I asked.
"You know, you're quite pretty."
I rolled my eyes.
"I wish I could rearrange the letters of the alphabet. I would place U and I together," He continued.
"That has got to be the lamest pick-up line in existence."
"Don't worry. That's just plan A."
"So what's plan B?"
"To take you hostage."
"Yeah, good joke," I muttered with a laugh.
When the guy didn't laugh along, I stared at him.
Seriousness hitting my face, I turned around to walk back to the car when two strong arms wrapped around my waist. My attack instincts kicked in and I kicked my legs frantically, trying to pry of the strong hold.
"Xena!" I heard Ysaline yell from nearby, panic evident in her voice.
I stepped on the person's foot and kicked him on the knee. He groaned and left me.
I was about to make a run for it when the same arms pulled me back.
A sharp, piercing feeling erupted through my body as the man injected the sedative. My eyes drooped and arms lay limp as I fell into my captor's arm.
"Dormi, amore mio. Perché quando ti sveglierai, sarai mio."
