《FALLEN》CHAPTER SIXTEEN.

My heart was still thumping at an uncontrollable speed since last night. The everlasting tingles continued to sit on my lip, only reminding me of the sensational feeling of his upon mine. The memory continued to roam my mind, never once leaving.

But that wasn't the only thought running in my mind.

No, I continued to wonder what had caused him to run out in the session. What had got him in such a troubled mood. And most importantly, if he was okay.

A low sigh left my lips as I twirled the spoon around in my cup of hot coco. I wondered where he was and what he had gone to do. I just hoped he wasn't in any trouble of some sort...but the unusual churning occurring to my stomach, said otherwise.

I pulled the spoon out of the brown colored, liquid cup, placing it to the side. My tongue swiped out, wetting my lips, before I brought the cup up to my lips. Warmth flooded me as I swallowed the hot liquid, the flavour of chocolate dancing on my taste buds.

There was no coffee left in the staff room and I wasn't a big fan of tea, so hot chocolate was my last resort. However, I wasn't complaining; it was just as good. I took another sip, letting out a low breath. The slight pain in my temple, faintly there.

The only reason I had this headache was because I was busy thinking about him, overnight and during the beginning of my day. He just wouldn't leave my mind. Hence, it lead to my temple throbbing.

I once again found myself frowning, my brows furrowing slightly as I thought back to him. It wasn't only his well being which continued to play in my mind. It was also...also his lips. Red blush burned against my cheeks as I remembered the way they felt upon mine.

And God, the way his hands warmed my skin. Sending shoots, large blasts of pleasure throughout me. I was aroused just by the simple feeling of his hands on my hips. It was a overwhelming feeling which I wanted to feel more of.

I shook off my thoughts, shifting on my seat.

I shouldn't be having these thoughts.

But I just couldn't help myself.

Letting out a sigh, I brought the cup back up to my lips, taking a large sip. I let my eyes flutter close, hoping to catch a few seconds of peaceful silence. Not busy thinking about the intriguing hazel orbed man.

The sound of the staff room door opening, caught my attention. My head shot up, my glasses almost falling from my face. Daniel gently closed the door behind him, pulling on a small smile. Earlier this morning, he had returned back from his two days off and once again I was more than relieved.

"Hey," I quietly greeted. He walked over to me, running a hand through his curly mess of brown hair.

"Hey," He mumbled, pulling the chair beside me out, before slumping down on it. Small ripples occurred in my cup of hot chocolate. I hid an amused smile.

"You seem drained." I commented, pushing my glasses up. He glanced at me, holding a hand to his cheek as he used his elbow for support.

"You could say that." He muttered, nodding his head along. I found myself frowning. He slumped his body fully down on the table, a loud yawn leaving his lips.

"Why's that?" I softly asked, taking another sip from my nearly finished hot chocolate.

Damn it, I was enjoying it.

"Sam beat up Mark." He announced, nonchalantly. I choked on my mouthful of hot coco, having no choice but to spit out.

"What?!" I blurted out, shocked. Amusement danced into Daniel's eyes as he let out a low chuckle.

"Shit, Belle." He got out, laughing. I rolled my eyes, reaching out to pick up a white napkin. I wiped it across my lips, before picking another up and dabbing it along the top of my white t-shirt. Fortunately, it didn't stain it.

Daniel continued to laugh, eventually shutting up after muttering comments like 'You should have seen your face' and 'It was damn priceless, I wish I recorded it.'

I rolled my eyes at him, but found myself cracking a grin of my own. When silence returned to the air, the cause of my little accident danced through my mind.

"Were you joking?" I cleared my throat. Daniel stopped playing with his tie and glanced up at me, shaking his head. I noticed the little crease in his brows. I don't know how to exactly describe it, but in the moment I felt an odd feeling occur in my stomach.

"What...w-what happened?" My words shaky. He let out a sigh, leaning back in his chair and turned to face me.

"Sam was found beating the crap out of Mark, but I'm not sure why. If you didn't pick up, Sam and him...have some tension with one another. God knows what could have caused him to act out this way." He explained to me.

"Y-Yeah, I'm aware of him and Mark...but what happened after that?" I continued to ask.

"After Marco and some other guard saw them fighting, they pulled them apart and they were both sent to Isolation. That's where they are now." He told me.

My heart dropped at the last part of his sentence. I wasn't entirely sure what isolation was, and what that punishment included, but I could fix it all together. I assumed it was sort of like a time out.

"What's isolation?" I asked him.

"Both of them are kept in a separate room for two days. Well, depending on why you're there in the first place. They aren't allowed any form of communication or entertainment, until their time is up."

"What about food?" I heard myself ask.

"A guard brings it in for them. But I doubt they'd eat that shit. It all looks as if taste like plastic." He grimaced. I frowned along with him, feeling my stomach clench. My worry for Sam only grew.

"D-Daniel..." I hesitantly started. He bobbed his head, humming lowly.

"Is...is it bad?" I whispered, afraid to the response. A glint crossed his eyes and it looked as if he wanted to say something, but decided against it. Instead, he shrugged.

"I'm not sure about that, Belle. I guess it's the person you ask. If you're able to be cut off from the world for two days, and have no problem with it, then you're fine. But if not...I guess not."

I nodded along with him, agreeing. There was no fault in his logic, it was true what he was saying. But still, I continued to worry about him. I didn't know how he would feel about it, if he could handle it. That just pained me a little.

It was just this heartbreaking image that would paint in my mind as I thought about this isolation. Sam, alone in a dull, dark room. His hood was over his head, and he sat on the cold ground, shivering. His back was against the wall and his knees were brought to his chest. And slowly, he would lose hope.

I shook off my thoughts, not thinking twice before asking the question.

"Can I see him?" I blurted out, already feeling the red blush take over my cheeks. His eyes clocked over to me, both his brows raising in surprise. I sighed, glancing down at the table.

"Why would you want to do that?" He asked, sounding as if he had heard pigs could really fly. Chewing down on my bottom lip, I thought of an excuse.

"B-Because...I'm worried about him. He's my patient, I believe it's my job to." I played off, cracking a forced grin. His eyes narrowed as he looked to see if I were lying, before he reluctantly nodded his head.

"Of course," And a grin grew onto his lips. Relief instantly flooded my body, feeling my smile grow.

"But you can't stay for long. Twenty minutes maximum."

I bobbed my head immediately, happy I was at least going to have a chance to see him.

"Thanks, I owe you."

"Yes, Belle. Yes you do."

Nerves and excitement battled inside my stomach as I followed behind Daniel. This route was unfamiliar, new to me. I had never seen this part of prison and my interest grew.

How big was this place?!

"Keep quiet." He whispered, glancing back at me. I opened my mouth to reply, but went with a nod of a head. Silently, he retracted a set of keys from his pocket, all kinds of silver and gold keys bashing against each other.

"Daniel!" I hissed, reaching out to slap his shoulder.

"So much for keeping quiet." I muttered, earning a snort from him.

"Sorry, alright. I don't think anyone's going to be walking pass just this second." He argued. I rolled my eyes, pursing my lips as I tightened my hold on the container in my hand. After what Daniel had told me about the food and it seeming off putting, I was almost certain that Sam hadn't eaten.

I chewed down on my bottom lip at the thought of him. I hoped he wasn't suffering like I had thought he were. But then the sparkle of anger grew in my stomach. How dare he run out like that? And distract me by kissing me?!

I had a couple of words to say to him.

"Alright, now it's time to keep quiet." Daniel mumbled, motioning his head to follow. I did just that, mimicking his footsteps as he walked passed a few doors. Most of them were empty, which I could tell by the open doors. But right at the end there were four that were closed.

Sam was behind one of them.

"Here, Belle." He walked over to the the very last one on the right row, whistling a low tune as he put his keys in it to turn it open. Suddenly, the nerves over took me. I slowly walked over to the door, watching as Daniel motioned his head over.

"Twenty minutes, B. Not any longer." He warned. I nodded, not hesitating as I pushed the door open and stepped inside. Immediately, my eyes landed on him. Bile grew in my throat.

It was strange, so sickly similar to the image I had pictured of him in my mind. He was cuddled up to himself, his head resting on his arms as his hood covered the beautiful strands of blonde. My mouth parted as I felt my stomach churn.

"S-Sam," I breathed out, gently closing the door behind me. I watched as his body tensed, before he slowly lifted his head up. When our eyes locked, I felt an odd feeling flood my body. From head to toe, I just felt the sparkle flying through me.

"Belle?" He softly rasped, sounding so confused at my presence. I stilled for a second, mixed emotions dancing around inside of me. Sympathy, concern, hurt and anger washed through me.

"What are you doing here?" His husky voice asked, clearing it afterwards. My heart twisted as I realized how dehydrated he sounded. But before I gave him my heart, I'd give him a piece of anger.

"I can't believe you, Sam!" I exclaimed in disbelief. A confused glint crossed his eyes.

"Why would you go and do something so stupid, that would make you end up here?!" I raised my voice, hoping he'd get the message. His jaw clenched as his gaze turned down towards the ground.

"A-And, I can't believe you actually distracted me by kissing the hell out of me and then running off!" I frowned, narrowing my eyes at him. There was only silence in reply.

"Well? What do you have to say for yourself?" I wanted to cross my arms over my chest and jut out a hip, but I couldn't with the container in my hands. He sighed, leaning his head against the wall and looking at me.

"Sorry," He lowly mumbled, adding on a shrug.

"What was that?" I repeated, earning a sigh from him.

"I'm sorry, alright? I shouldn't have done that." He rasped, running a hand across his face. My heart fluttered, at the feeling of his eyes on me. It was so tingly.

"Good. I forgive you." I sighed, slowly making my way over to him. I slowly sat down beside him, feeling the cold air sink through the materials of my jeans. When I glanced back up at him, he was already watching me.

"Why are you here?" He repeated, his masculine voice sounding so deep. I blushed from the close proximity to him and let out a breath.

"I...I was worried about you." I honestly told him. His eyes narrowed and an odd beam washed across them. Slowly, a dimple broke out onto his cheek.

"I brought you some food, since I figured you wouldn't eat what they gave you." I handed over the container of tomato pasta I had quickly whipped up, cheese sprinkled on top of it.

"Oh, and here's water." I pulled out the bottle of water from my pocket, handing it over to him. His eyes were locked on mine as he slowly took them.

"Thank you," He rasped.

"You're welcome." I felt myself blush. A moment of silence washed across the air, and Sam slowly pulled off the lid, not hesitating to dig in. I watched, a little nervous, awaiting his reaction.

"This is good." He muttered. A grin cracked onto my lips. I couldn't find myself able to look away as I watched him welcome more and more forkful's of pasta into his mouth, occasionally licking his lips.

Not long ago, they were on mine.

It was when my eyes darted to his face for a brief second, I noticed his eyes were locked on me. They were darkened, watching me with interest and another emotion I couldn't place. But whatever it was, it oddly made my lower region tingle.

"Did you only kiss me to distract me?" I blurted out, not giving it a single thought. I closed my eyes, biting down on my bottom lip, before letting out a sigh.

"I'm sorry...I should have never asked that." I whispered, feeling the blush grow on my cheeks and travel down my neck. And just when I was about to open my eyes, I felt them being placed on me. His soft, pillow like lips pressed down on mine, startling me for a second.

It lingered for a second, slowly pulling back, making me open my eyes.

"Does that answer your question?" He lowly asked, his forehead resting against mine. I nodded my head, biting down on my bottom lip. My heart fluttered as I watched a grin grow onto his lips and slowly, he pulled back.

Silence danced into the air as he we back to eating the pasta I cooked. I tried not to stare at him, but couldn't help myself.

He was simply breathtaking.

"Are you okay?" I softly asked. He nodded his head, cracking a grin.

"I'm not the one with a fucked up jaw, Belle." Was his cocky reply.

It was all ruined when the door turned open. Both of our heads snapped to face the door, fear waving across me as I thought about the blush still playing on my cheeks.

"Two minutes, Belle." Daniel informed me, his eyes glancing back and forth between us. I nodded, sighing as I chewed down on my bottom lip.

"You good, man?" I heard Daniel say to him.

"I'm alright, bro." Sam's raspy voice called back. The door closed and I glanced back up at Sam, he put the plastic fork down in empty container, smiling in thanks as he gave it back.

"Thank you, Belle. That was delicious."

I blushed from his words.

"You're more than welcome." I whispered. Our eyes locked and I realized it was time for me to go. Contemplating on what to do, I found myself leaning in and placing a lingering kiss on his cheek.

"I'll see you soon, Sam. Take care of yourself." I softly told him, his eyes locked on me. I slowly stood up on my feet and held the empty container in my hand. He didn't smile, or say anything. Instead, he continued to look in my eyes.

"Bye, Sam." I quietly said as I made my way out the door.

As soon as I stepped outside, I suddenly wished I could go back inside.

I sighed to myself.

Get ahold of yourself, Belle.
