The two of you walk along a path, the sun almost completely covered by clouds. It was somewhat cold, especially for Liyue. Luckily, your outfit covered up most of your body. But Scaramouche on the other hand...

"Aren't you cold..?" You ask him, looking him up and down.

He shakes his head, "No, I'm used to it."

"Was it cold in Inazuma?"

Scaramouche looks at you, he seemed annoyed but you thought you were seeing things wrong, "Not exactly. I uh.. lived in Snezhnaya for a while."

You gaze at him with utter fascination, "Wow! Is there anywhere you haven't been?"

He folds his arms, "Actually, I don't think I've been to Sumeru."

You smirk, causing him to look at you with confusion, "Well, I've been to Sumeru! It's actually really pretty. I went there on official business once. It was super hot though.."

The two of you continued your small talk until it started to rain. You looked up to the sky, sighing. Glancing over at Scaramouche, you remember he had his huge hat, which was shielding him from the rain. You looked away in jealousy. Suddenly, you felt a weight on your head, to which you realized Scaramouche had put his hat on your head. You looked over at him but he didn't seem phased. He just continued to walk without saying anything about it. Your face felt a bit warmer, he really was a good guy.

《Scaramouche's POV》

As it started raining, Scaramouche noticed how bothered Y/N was from the rain. He decided to give them his hat. He usually didn't put others before him, in fact, he never put others before himself. He had convinced himself it was simply to keep up his nice-guy front.

The two continued their walk in silence, which got awkward very quickly. But before they knew it, the sun was going down once again.

"Wangshu Inn is nearby, why don't we stay there for the night," Scaramouche offered, "I would usually continue but since it's raining and someone is bothered by it-"

Y/N agrees, "I'm okay with that. I was getting tired anyway, I don't usually travel this far by foot."

《Your POV》

You arrive at the inn and check into your rooms. The inn was quite beautiful. It was also built into a giant tree which you found fascinating. After you were done admiring the architecture, you and Scaramouche parted ways and checked into your separate rooms, to which Scaramouche kindly paid for. He must have made good bank doing whatever he did for a living.

You flopped onto the bed, sighing happily that you didn't have to sleep outside. It made you miss your home. Though you moved around a lot, you considered Mondstadt your home. But to you, home meant wherever your younger brother was.

He was currently staying with a friend of yours in Liyue. You had to admit, the main reason you went on this journey was to that you could visit him.

Just as you started getting ready to hit the hay, you noticed Scaramouche's hat still in your possession. You quickly took it and left your room with the intent to give it back to him. You knocked on his door. No response. You knocked again. No response. This time you gave up and opened the door.

There he was, asleep. You quietly laughed as you walked in. You tried your best to place his hat next to the bed as quietly as possible. Looking at his face, you notice his slightly reddened face. Was he sick..?

You went to the side of the bed to get a closer look at his face. Though it was hard to tell, you could see his face turning a bit red. He was sick. You wanted to check his temperature, but you had just met this man 2 days before, you felt weird touching him without permission.

Scaramouche had a very youthful appearance, much like yourself. You had always been told you looked younger than you actually were.

If you were being honest, you'd say he was quite handsome. He looked so peaceful as he slept, you couldn't dare to wake him. You decided to silently leave the room and let him rest. Him being sick meant you would have to get a later start the next day, to let him sleep in.
