Compared to them, the doctor seemed much calmer as he methodically took the bandage off slowly and put it on the tray that the nurse held.

Shen Wenna kept her eyes closed and did not open them. She only felt a lightness over her eyes as the binds from before had all been taken off.

The blonde Doctor Harrison smiled at Shen Wenna, speaking in fluent English, "Madam Shen, you can open your eyes now. Open them slowly. Lisha, go and pull the curtains open a little."

"Okay," the nurse responded, and then slowly walked over to pull open half of the curtains, leaving only a small gap.

"Wenna, Doctor Harisson says you can open your eyes now. Open them slowly to get used to the light in the room. That's right. Slowly..." Xi Mushan said to Shen Wenna.

Shen Wenna then nodded gently, still holding Xi Mushan's hand tightly as she slowly opened her eyes.

She only felt a strong light suddenly streaming in, making her wince in slight pain. Then came the blurry scenes before her that slowly shifted clear. Shen Wenna blinked and subconsciously looked at the light that was pouring in from the window. After she got used to it for a while, she could finally see clearly!

The muslin curtains were swaying gently in the wind while a butterfly with fluttering wings had even stopped on the window frame.

She finally got her vision back!

She could not help but tremble. While she held Xi Mushan's hand, she felt her emotions stir up and she turned to look at Xi Mushan.

Xi Mushan's tired and sallow handsome face greeted her sight. Since the last time she saw him, he looked much more wan and paler. He had also changed to appear a little older, and his once-jet black head of hair now hid many short silver strands.

"Nana, can you see?" Xi Mushan waved a hand in front of her frantically as he asked softly. There was a concern that could not be hidden in his dark eyes.

Shen Wenna stared at him for a long while, and then nodded gently. "I can see you. You... How did you become like this? You look much older than before..."

When Xi Mushan heard her comment, he reached out and held her by her frail shoulders. Then, he closed his eyes and sighed. "I've been old for a while now. Good, you can finally see... That's wonderful, Wenna..."

"Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?" Doctor Harrison asked from the side with a smile.

Now, Shen Wenna looked up at Harrison, her eyes filled with gratitude as she spoke in fluent English, "Thank you, Doctor Harrison. I feel pretty good."

Doctor Harrison nodded. "You've just recovered, so your eyes can't be exposed to strong light now. Mr. Xi has already prepared a pair of sunglasses for you. Wear it for a few days. When your condition is stabler, you can take them off. Be careful with the way you use your eyes. For now, you can't use them for too long. Make sure to rest. In another two days, come back for a checkup and if everything's normal, you can return home assured."

Once Harrison finished, Xi Mushan took a box out from his pocket, opened it and took out sunglasses for Shen Wenna to wear.

"Okay, thanks, Doctor Harrison!" Shen Wenna looked at Doctor Harrison in gratitude.

"You're welcome. Mr. Mu is my good friend. Previously, he's watched out for me, so this is what I should do in return."

Shen Wenna subconsciously turned to look at Xi Mushan who smiled and nodded too. She could not help but sigh, "Ah Chen is such a considerate boy. Xiaye... We can feel assured handing Xiaye over to him. The first time I met him, I knew that Xiaye wouldn't be wrong this time."

"Little Apple? Turns out Grandmother's Little Apple looks like this! Ooh, so cute!" Shen Wenna said happily as she reached out to pat Little Apple's furry little head.

"Ah Chen sent it over. He really put in a lot of thought for this little thing."

Xi Mushan lifted a hand to pat Little Apple's head. Thanks to this little thing, he and Shen Wenna had gotten much closer, and now, they could sit like husband and wife on the sofa as they held Little Apple to play with. It really felt as if they had one more mischievous grandchild.

Ah Chen's poodle was sent at such a good time.

After that, they went through another round of detailed examinations. It was close to evening when they left the hospital.

When he reached the office in the morning, Mu Yuchen received Doctor Harrison's call and found out about Shen Wenna's recovery.

"Master, is it Doctor Harrison?" Mu Yuchen had just hung up when Li Si asked him, appearing like he was anticipating something too.

Previously, it was Li Si who contacted Doctor Harrison, so he more or less knew about the situation. Seeing the way Mu Yuchen and Xi Xiaye always called Los Angeles, he hoped that Shen Wenna would recover earlier too. That way, Mu Yuchen and Xi Xiaye could be relieved. Now, there was Su Nan's end and the company matters too. Mu Yuchen nodded with a calm expression. He looked down contemplatively at the document before him, and then said, "Get Chauffeur Wang to prepare the car. I want to make a trip to Fuhua."

"Fuhua?" Li Si was surprised. He could not help but look at Mu Yuchen, feeling puzzled.

Mu Yuchen breathed in and closed the document before him slowly. "Hurry."

Upon hearing that, Li Si dare not say anything more. Master never liked people questioning him. He must have something important to tell the Elder CEO Shen.

"Should we call to inform Elder CEO Shen first?"

"No need. Be quick."

It was a sunny day in winter. Under the sun's gentle glow, the tall buildings looked like they were coated in holy golden rays, appearing beautiful and mesmerizing. The refractions off the windows made people feel insignificant as they looked at them from below.

This was where Fuhua Real Estate was located.

This building was constructed by Fuhua Real Estate itself. Mu Yuchen remembered that this place was an undeveloped land when he was still a child, and things had not been particularly lively around here, but in just twenty years, this place had grown so much!

Mu Yuchen nodded. "I have something to discuss with him. Is he inside?"

"He's in a meeting right now, so you might have to wait. It should be done in around 10 minutes. I'm just here to get some documents. You know what? I'll let him know," Lan Zilang said.

Mu Yuchen stopped him. "It's fine. I'll wait inside the office and I'll let Grandfather know once he's done with the meeting."

"Alright, have a seat inside then."

Mu Yuchen was alone since Li Si was still in Glory World.

Shen Yue's office was simple and clean. Mu Yuchen knew Shen Yue was in the military before. He maintained the same simple lifestyle even after so many years, so he was surprised when he first came over with Xi Xiaye and saw his office.

Mu Yuchen sat down on the sofa, enjoying the tea as he flipped through some magazines. Shen Yue came back from the meeting 10 minutes later, and he was glad to see Mu Yuchen.

"There's some work to be done by the end of the year. I was planning to let Xiaye take over after November, but my great-grandchild is coming soon, so we'll just have to wait until after the New Year."

"I'm afraid you'll need to work hard for a little while longer, Grandfather. Xiaye will be able to take over Fuhua after she recovers from the delivery. I've promoted some capable talents in Glory World and passed over the work she was handling to them."

Shen Yue nodded. "Sorry that you have to work harder. I'm getting old now and I'm not as tough as I was ten years ago. At most, I can only hang on for several years more. I feel kind of exhausted ever since your mother's incident. Alright, let's not talk about this. Are you here to discuss something with me?"

Mu Yuchen put his teacup down and looked at Shen Yue quietly. Moments later, he said, "This morning, I received a call from Doctor Harrison in Los Angeles. Mother removed the bandages this morning and her sight has returned. She'll be returning in two days after a little observation. I asked Doctor Harrison about her condition and he said she is recovering very well, so I got Ah Bo to book them flight tickets back to City Z in three days."

Shen Yue still felt a little uncomfortable talking about Xi Mushan. No matter what, it was impossible to forget about the damage Xi Mushan had done to Shen Wenna. His impression of Xi Mushan was at its worst.

"Ah Chen, I know what you mean. I lost our bet back then and I will fulfill our promise. I won't interfere with them. Shen Yue never liked to compromise, even with his own daughter. If he had agreed to Shen Wenna and Xi Mushan being together back then, and she got married as the Shen family's daughter, would everything have been different now?

Shen Yue was a prideful person. Maybe it was exactly because he only had one daughter, he was too protective of her, and that stubbornness could potentially lead to internal conflict.

Children all had their own views of the world. While parents do have more experience and want them to do well, they could not just clip their wings as that might cause unnecessary tragedies.

Shen Yue suddenly felt extremely guilty of his behavior. He just felt that there was too much to worry about.

However, Mu Yuchen only nodded as he listened to Shen Yue. "I'm glad to hear that. Grandfather, you don't need to be so stressed. Just go with the flow."

It was a difficult path for Xi Mushan and Shen Wenna to rebuild their relationship, and taking care of how Shen Yue felt was essential.

"What else can I say? Just let them be, do whatever they want."

Shen Yue could only compromise. He sipped some tea and continued, "I won't cause trouble for Xiaye and you as well, so don't worry about it. I know what to do. By the way, Qi Qiming got Vice CEO Yue Hai to send another proposal over. It's very similar to Qi Lei's."

Mu Yuchen instantly frowned. "Proposal? Is it regarding the South River project as well?"

"It seems like they know you have intentions to work with Qi Lei." Mu Yuchen gave the document another glance before he went on, "Grandfather, you could reconsider this based on Fuhua's situation. While I personally recommend Qi Lei, I'll respect your opinion."

Shen Yue smiled. "I've decided on it long ago. Ask Qi Lei out again after the New Year. We'll talk about the collaboration details. Things are getting busy now, so the newer projects need to wait."

"Alright, I'll let him know."

After Mu Yuchen and Shen Yue talked about the details on the South River project, they even had lunch together before Mu Yuchen returned to Glory World.

Just then, Xi Mushan called him from Los Angeles. His voice was filled with joy. "Ah Chen, it's all thanks to you that your mother is able to see again. We're very grateful for you. Doctor Harrison gave your mother a thorough examination this afternoon. He said she's recovering very well and should be able to leave the day after tomorrow."

Mu Yuchen leaned back against the chair as he let out a sigh of relief. He turned around and looked out the window at the vast blue sky with a smile. "That's great. Please send my regards to Mother. I'll tell Ah Mo to prepare the plane tickets for you two to come back. Let's gather as a family then. Xiaye misses the two of you a lot."

Xi Mushan was watching the TV as he sat down on the sofa while Shen Wenna had already gone to sleep.

"Thank you so much. How is Xiaye doing? I heard from her mother that she's been experiencing some leg cramps at night." Xi Mushan was concerned.

"Don't worry. I'll watch out for it. Father, you should focus on taking care of Mother. By the way, after you return, you should stay with Mother at the school for a while. I've sent people to refurbish Mother's apartment at the school, so you guys can stay there after returning."

Actually, Mu Yuchen ordered Li Si to work on this very soon after he got back. He knew he had to help them out a little.

Xi Mushan was very touched. Mu Yuchen had done so, so much for them! He was not their son, but he acted like one.

"As for work, you guys should discuss it among yourself since Mother has recovered. Things will get busy as the year-end approaches and Xiaye isn't in her best condition to move around now. Mu Yuchen felt lighter after he hung up on the call.

As he was deep in thought, he heard a notification sound from his laptop. He came back to his senses and looked at the laptop screen. Then, he clicked on the email notification to see a document of Li Si's investigation about the child named "Xiao Ye".

He glanced through it before closing the email.

Xi Xiaye was very fond of the child. When they visited the Shen Residence recently, they went to the orphanage as well. He could only follow her wishes. Anyway, it was not a bad idea to have another child at home. That way, she would not bug him for another child.

In the past, he did not really like children, but after he married her, he slowly started to change because of her. He longed to have a child with her and wanted to stay by her side.

It was time to prepare their baby room. He got the servants to clear out a room on the second floor just beside their bedroom. It would be done after some decoration, but as a father, he would have to do something about it himself.

Li Si instantly understood what Mu Yuchen was trying to do. He quickly mentioned, "Master, there's a pretty well-known store there. Missus wanted to go before, but Elder Madam was too worried to let her go. In the end, the visit didn't happen."

"We'll go there then," Mu Yuchen said briefly.

They soon arrived at the New Era Plaza. Because it was the end of the year, many people were doing their year-end shopping, so it was kind of crowded.

Mu Yuchen got down from the car and looked at the plaza. Suddenly, he heard the chime of a bell. He then noticed a transparent little ball beside his foot with several purple chime-bells inside. They would make a sound every time the ball rolled.

He bent down and was about to pick up the ball when unexpectedly, another hand reached out for it too. Before he could react, a pleasant fragrance wafted before his nose and their hands met.

He frowned and quickly looked up to see Gu Lingsha's face right before him. There was an indescribable sadness in her blue eyes that appeared a little swollen.

Mu Yuchen's first reaction was to pull his hand back and stand up. His eyes were filled with disgust. Even though the contempt faded quickly, Gu Lingsha saw everything.

"Master!"

Li Si noticed Mu Yuchen's expression was odd, so he quickly took out a clean wet tissue for Mu Yuchen who grabbed it and cleaned his hands thoroughly before giving it back.

Gu Lingsha's expression turned stormy.
