Alec had a death grip on the steering wheel. His knuckles were so tight that they were turning white. He was sweating profoundly since the day of decent the atmosphere had been damaged so bad that the entire earth has been hit with a heat wave. Ice bergs on both north and south poles have melted but instead of increasing the sea level the head had decreased it. The only thing harder to find more that medical supply and food was water.

Seeing the how tense his husband was Magnus put a hand on his upper thigh. Alec turned to his right to see Magnus giving him a worried look. With a sigh he forced himself to relax. It was night because using the hood of darkness was the only time humans could move around without falling prey to the hungry aliens who had a permanent craving for human flesh.

"Are you alright darling? You can rest for a while I don't mind driving" Magnus said softly. Tears came to Alec's eyes remembering how their life was a few years before the dreadful day. How he was able to make sure the love of his life was safe and secure and not they were driving to one of the most alien infested places because their camp was running out of supplied and he was putting the man he loved with ever part of his being in danger.

"You should've stayed at camp" Alec chocked out

"Not this again. I told you anywhere you go I'm going with you. I promised you that when I married you" Magnus said tightening his hold on his thigh

"And I promised that I would keep you safe even at the expense of my life. You don't get it Magnus when we reach the nest I wouldn't be able to do anything to you keep you safe. Fuck....Magnus why didn't you stay back" Alec chocked tears streaming down his face. He knew the odds of coming out of this were slim and he was chocking on fear for his husbands life.

"Alexander" Magnus called softly. Alec's grip on the wheel tightened when he saw the nest in his view. Alec parked the car out of view and he climbed out and went to open the back of the van after wiping his tears away harshly. His brother and sister with their supposed others and their friend's ragnor and Catharina got out.

Magnus got out of the van too and went to stand beside his husband as they went through their plan one more time. Before the team headed inside Alec pulled his husband back and kissed him hard and passionately. He kissed him with a promise and fear and when they pulled apart hugged him tight.

"Don't move far from me" Alec whispered

"I know how to defend for myself" Magnus whispered

"Magnus...please" Alec pleased

"Okay Alexander...I won't" Magnus mumbled with a smile.

They walked closer to where the aliens had gathered around their queen while still being out of view but they couldn't manage to get any closer because the area where the food and water was stored was swamped. After kissing his husband one more time and telling clary and Simon to protect him with their lives. He took his brother and sister to the other side of the nest and opened fire as a distraction.

While the lightwoods fend off the aliens coming at them with vigor Magnus and the rest took the supplies they needed and packed the van full. The problem was when they were done there was only place for three people to fit. Magnus wanted to go back and help his husband but with secretive glances at each other they knocked him out and put him in the van. They decided since out of them the best shooters where Simon and clary and because they wanted to go back for their other half's they went back and Catharina and ragnor drove the van back to their camp site.

With all five of them and the amount of ammunition they carried they were able to hold the aliens back till they could set up an explosive and with all of them taking cover dedinate it taking most of the aliens coming at them out. The problem was once they were out of the alien's range they had no way of getting back. Because the aliens didn't have other sense's beside the sense of sight they had the upper hand during the night and if they didn't get back to the camp before sun rise they would lose it.

They started their journey back to the base that night but not after long they saw the sun peeking out from being the mountains. They took cover inside an upside down school bus and covered the door and windows with what they had on them. After covering everything most of them were half bear which didn't bother them much since it was getting hotter and hotter as the day progressed.

As the rest spent their time chatting Alec was sat on the corner alone playing with the ring engraved with "aku cinta kamu". He was happy Magnus was alive and well back in the camp but after hearing how they put him in the van he was slightly worried. Even more so to that he knew Magnus would be furious when he got back. They had promised they wouldn't leave each other's sight for better or worse

"You know his going to be fine right?" Jace asked softly standing next to him.

"Yeah, I'm just worried you know" Alec replied weakly

"I feel you man. I know I would be worried sick if clary wasn't beside me" Jace said sitting beside him

"Oh don't mention carrot. I have a bone to pick with her" Alec said looking towards his sister in law.

"Come on alec. You know Magnus would have come for you if they didn't knock him out and you would have killed her if she allowed him to run into danger" Jace said with a smirk playing on his lips knowing his brother didn't have much point to argue on.

"Yeah I guess" Alec replied playing absentmindedly with the ring on his finger

"His fine. I promise you. You'll find him in one piece when we get back" Jace mused

"Oh he better be" Alec said forcing a smile.

After hours of waiting it was finally dawn again and they started their journey to the camp again. Luckily even if they were tired and hungry they got there in time before dawn. When the people in the camp saw that someone was approaching they got in defensive mode and a lot of guns and other weapons were aimed at them. But once they realized it was them the doors opened and running out there came their families.

When Alec saw Magnus running towards him he dropped the bag on his shoulder and opened his arms for him. He was surprised when Magnus punched him square in the jaw. He almost fell to the side but using what little energy he had left he balanced himself. Just as he stood up he was tackled to the ground.

"Okay the punch I understand but why did you have to knock me down?" Alec asked laughing while tightening his hold around his husband

"I thought you died. I was worried sick." Magnus muttered into his neck.

When they finally separated and everyone went inside Magnus and Alec went to their bunks. After Alec showered they were laying on their bed cuddling while whispering softly to each other.

"I was really terrified you know." Magnus whispered

"I was too. I'm sorry they knocked you out" Alec replied

"You asked them to, didn't you?" Magnus asked

"I asked them to keep you safe" Alec replied kissing his forehead

"I'd rather be out there with you than here safe" Magnus replied kissing his jaw

"I know but I need you to be okay or all of this would be in vain. I want you alive and safe." Alec stated

"I know but what if me being here keeps you from surviving out there. I want to be out there protecting you. Making sure you'll come back" Magnus whimpered against his pulse point

"I'll always come back to you magnus. You can count on that" Alec replied closing his eyes and unconsciously baring more of his neck for his husband

"I love you" Magnus whispered moving up his jaw and kissing the corner of his lips

"I love you too" Alec replied before their lips met in a passionate kiss
