Barry offer Varity to go to Jitters with him as that was her usual routine after she finish a modeling session in the morning. There was a huge line for coffee and Barry being Barry decided to take advantage of his speed and make everyone coffee.

He held out a caapuchino for her while she smirk grabbing the coffee. "Show off." He just smiled widely as they both chuckled together.

As they were walking to a park a random guy pull out a gun on them. "Dont try anything, wallet now" He directed his gun at Barry.

"Oh, this is awesome you've got to be kidding me. Hold on okay? I'm just going to put my coffee down." He set his coffee on the ground as the person directed his aim at her now.

"Barry he pointing the gun to both of us not just you." Varity spoke out above a whisper. "I mean this is crazy." He look at the stranger. "There are literally hundreds of thousands of people in Central City and out of everyone you could have pick, you pick me."

"What are you sick? Money now! Or I will hurt your girlfriend" He pointed the gun to her face as she clutch the drink in her hands. "I mean if there was an Olympics for bad luck you didn't just medal pal you Michal Phelps."

"Im going to count to three and I'm gonna shoot her. One... Two..." She shut her eyes tightly. "Barry!?"

In a flash Barry grab her and took care of the robber. They then pop up in front of Caitlin, Cisco and her dad while Barry was holding his coffee.

She set her coffee down before erupting a sob as Caitlin quickly hug the trembling girl. "Barry what happen?" Cisco look concerned as Caitlin hush the small girl clearly traumatized. "W-we almost died!" They look at them wide eyed. "No you don't understand you had to be there."

"I'm gonna need a moment or two alone with Barry." Wells look at him with a stern. "If your going to scold him about putting my life on risk you don't have to because he getting the silent treatment." Varity walk out with Caitlin who rub her back. "Oooh your in trouble..." Cisco whisper then catching up with the rest.

Varity stood around Caitlin and Cisco trying to I.D. the poor man who was burn into crisps in a case. "How did he get fried in the first place?" Varity look at her friends. "Is there a meta-human who can control electricity maybe?"

"It'd take a serious electrostatic discharge to cause that level of tissue damage." Harrison spoke his thoughts out loud."Guys, according to the software there a 82% chance your victim can look like this." Cisco pulled up the picture.

"82%?"

"Hey when you first came it was a 0." Cisco said to Barry "Can you cross-reference that with the dmd database, maybe get a name?"

"Yep this software can do just about anything now that Felicity reprogrammed it. Casey Donahue, no wife, no kids, use to work at the petersburg electrical substation."

"That weird someone use his I.D to enter the substation." Cisco added in. Varity look forward to the computer.

"The petersburg grid is experiencing a power drain right now." Caitlin read from the alert received. "Barry be careful" Harrison spoke as he sped away before he could finish his sentence Varity then got headache with just a vision of Barry himself.

"Are you okay Varity?" Caitlin ask her gently. "Hmm, o-oh yeah just a little worn out from designing clothes and working." She spoke low. "Don"t wore yourself out" Her father spoke as she nod. "I'm just gonna rest in a chair." Varity grab a few painkillers and a bottle of water and sat in a chair. Then before she gulp the pills down a sentence pop in her head saying "Barry is in danger." She place her bottle and pills down walking over to Cisco. "C-Cisco, Barry is in danger he needs to get out." Varity took the com, "Barry get out of there now!" Harrison look over to his daughter terrified expression. He quickly came over taking the com from her as she began to pace."Barry what happening?"

"Do as Varity told you run Barry."

"I can't my speed is gone" We heard Barry reply. "I-i'm going to pick you up." She grab her keys heading out as her father called her name.

They enter star labs testing Barry speed. "He runs slow even for a normal person." Cisco stare at his form as he ran on the treadmill. "You just can't just lose your powers. Your DNA was transformed by the particle accelerator blast. There no way to untransform DNA. " Caitlin said as she look at Barry. "So we were wrong this meta-human doesn't electrocute people he siphons electricity thereby removing your powers." Harrison concluded "All right do we think this is temporary or-" Barry got cut of. "We have to run tests" Wells responded.

"Right I've gotta warn Joe." Barry was about to head out when Varity rush over to him. "Can I come I need to talk to Joe about somethings and just to let you cheer up I'll let you drive." Varity extended my cars keys."And yes I'm aware I fail silent treatment but I can't stay upset forever." He gave her a smile and took her keys gently her hand. "Barry we will find a way to restore your speed." Wells spoke firmly while looking at Barry.

Varity was sitting next to Barry while suddenly Joe grab a coffee mug and drop it on the floor. The two look at him in shock. "You didn't catch it." Joe responded lowly. "I love that mug. What part of meta-human stole my speed didn't you understand?" Barry spoke with a pout.

"Barry, there's no part of anything you can do that I ever understand. What does Dr.Wells say?" Joe said while looking at Barry. "He says he working on it but I haven't received no news." Varity sighed looking at her phone.

"Barry you have to get your speed back, the people in this city need protecting. If you don't get your speed, how the hell we are gonna keep them safe?"

"Joe the meta-human who stole my speed, he burned up the body we saw in the alley today. You need to tell the police not to confront him he's dangerous." They all heard a familar voice. "Who dangerous?"

"Iris!" Varity sat up and walk over to her pulling her into a hug.

"No one just some thief." Joe responded to Iris as they pulled away

"Well criminals better watch out cops in Central City are the best and if you can't protect the city, I know the flash will." She smiled confident.

"What if he can't? , what if he gone?" Barry look at Iris "Or maybe whatever he could do before, he can't do anymore."

"Do you have some place to be?" Joe spoke looking at Varity and Barry. She nodded playing along. "Right you are Joe come on Barry we don't want to be late."

"Joe when you have free time can I give you a call?" Varity look at Joe

"Yeah, sure why is it important?" Joe question. "No-no it can wait just asking." She said goodbye to Iris and gave her one last hug and caught up with Barry.

A strange men with weird glasses said to Barry that his watch was nice as we enter the elevator. "Thanks." Barry responded. "Take took mine all of them." The man said. "Guess you shouldn't done what ever it is that you did." Barry responded looking at the criminal.

They both headed back to Star Labs as Barry sulk looking at his suit on the mannequin. "You think I'll be able to wear it again?" Barry spoke to Varity. She walk over placing her head on his shoulder looking at the suit infront of them "I know you will trust me." She gave a small smile.

"I didn't have my speed for very long but now it feels like part of me is gone too." Barry said to me as he look down. Shr change her position so know she stood infront of him. "With or without your speed your still the Barry Allen."

"But I'm not, I'm not the best version of myself. I love being the Flash. I live everything about it, the feeling of running hundreds of miles per hour, wind and power just rushing past my face,being able to help people. I'm not sure I can live without it Varity." She place her hand on his Barry heart and was about to say something when Cisco came and said a name. "Farooq Gibran." She put her hand down gently as Barry turned away. "Who?"

"The power vampire who hacked Barry speed. I hacked into the surveillance footage from the substation. It was easy to find a match." Cisco said and show us his tablet.

"He climbed an electrical tower the night of the accelerator explosion." Barry spoke as he look at the tablet with the video.

"No surprise where his power came from." Caitlin responded as Barry look at her. Beeping came from the monitors. Cisco rush over to the computer while everyone follow. "Oh, you've got to be kidding me. This is not happening." Cisco look at the screen. Through the monitor Farooq yell for Dr. Wells to see him and to open the door.

Varity got a headache seeing Iris on the floor with a gun held to her. She look around her surroundings to see the lights began to flicker off. The place started shaking.

Varity grabbed her phone and try to call Iris and Joe. She call Captain he pick up pressing speaker. "Hey Captain I been trying to get in contact with Joe and Iris."

"There a hostage situation Varity, Joe and his daughter. I call you when I know more." She was hoping they would be okay in the long run. "I need my powers back now." Barry said as he look at all of them."I have a theory, it's untested." Harrison spoke quickly. "I'm willing to roll the dice."

"You lost your speed but nothing has changed inside you on a subatomic level your cells are still primed they just need a jump-start."

"How do we jumpstart then?" Varity ask looking at her father. "We need to replicate the initial jolt to your system."

"But that would mean a peak current at least 20,000 kilo-amps." Cisco added

"Are you insane that more electricity than they give to people in the electric chair." Caitlin look at Wells with wide eyes. "Caitlin with Farooq in the building we are all looking at a death sentence here."

"The spare generator is offline if we reboot it we could get a charge that big." Cisco spoke saying his thoughts outloud. "We need something that can transmit that load from the generator to Barry body without shorting out." Wells look at the team.

"The treadmill!?" Varity suggested certain but not certain. "My baby can take the charge." Cisco spoke to them as she rolled her eyes. "What if Barry can't?" Caitlin look at them. Varity clasp her hands together taking a shaky breath. "That up to Barry, whatever you choose I'll support you." He then started walking out. "Where are you going?"

"I'm gonna talk to him."

"No, no." Her father said shaking his head disapprovingly. "You didn't see him at the substation he needed to feed. I got super speed of out the particle accelerator blast but his best friends died, he woke up with a disease." Barry look straight at Harrison. "Earlier today, you worked a crime scene where this meta-human electrocuted an innocent man, he's a murderer! And you are powerless to defend yourself against him."

"He may just need help like I did. I don't need my powers to offer him that. I have to try." Varity went up to Barry and went up on her toes pecking his cheek she look him into his green eyes, "Good luck Barry and I think your doing the right thing." He grab her hand while looking at her and squeezed it tight then left.

The team were all behind the wall listening to Barry and Farooq when Barry got blast down the hall. "Barry!?" Varity went down and check on him.

"Done being noble Mr.Allen? Varity and Caitlin get him to the treadmill, Cisco bring the generator online make sure Barry get the charge."

"Dad be carful." Varity told her father. She and Caitlin headed to the treadmill with Barry. The set him down against a wall. "I'm not healing fast anymore am I?" Barry look at both of them. The two ladies nodded there head no. "That's unfortunate." Barry responded wincing."Don't worry when my dad has a theory he's usually right its how he caught me sneaking out all the time when I was young."

"What if something happens to Joe and Iris first?" They then heard electricity crackling. They peep there head out the glass and saw Farooq. They all went back down pressing there back against the solid wall. Varity receive a headache it show her Eddie on the floor clutching a wound and Tony dead on the floor.

She shook it off quickly she needed to stick to the plan.

Farooq enter were they were hiding as they sneakily move behind another room. "Did you know the human body generates electricity? The average person gives off 342 watts and I could smell it coming from you." Farooq smiled.

She shiver at his words. "Turn on the treadmill." Barry said to Caitlin. "Your still hurt Barry..."

"We don't have time!" He responded she look to the plug in her hands. "Caitlin!" Barry said waiting for her turn on the generator. "I can't."

"We don't have a choice."

"If I turn this on it could kill you."

Varity blurted out "It's not gonna kill him, Caitlin you need to trust me on this please." Varity walk forward to her looking her in her eyes. "If you don't we could all die." Barry added. "I already lost someone I cared about in this building. I can't do it again." Caitlin said worryingly. "Listen someone once told me that I was struck by that lighting for a reason that it chose me." Barry said as he look at Varity. "I'm not sure if I believe it. Right now it doesn't matter what I believe." He then grip of treadmill will his strength. "What do you believe?"

Caitlin then grab the handle while Varity put her hands over hers. They nodded both pulling the handle upward. Barry flew to the other side of the room. "Are you okay?" The two woman look down at him "Did you feel anything?" Caitlin questioned.

Barry put his hand up to see it vibrating and then stop. "It didn't work." Barry said to her they heard a loud boom in the distance. The two quickly scoop him up walking in the hallways hearing electricity crackling and saw Tony on the floor. "Tony..." Varity and Barry spoke at the same time. "Tony what are you doing here?" Barry question.

Tony was bleeding so she rip apart of her skirt and started wiping Tony mouth as the blood drip her hands shaked. "You know me Barry I never run from a fight." He smiled as she let out a sniffle. "All right well stay with me okay?"

Tony grabs his hand and look at them. "Run" He then fell back down lifeless.

"Tony?! Hey!?" Varity check his circulation but she didn't feel nothing beating. Caitlin grab the two since Farooq was coming.

They then went to the generator were Cisco was while supporting Barry. "Your winded, that not good."

"I need to take your blood and figure out what happened." Caitlin said to him while preparing to draw some blood out. "I can't believe he dead." Barry spoke under his breath as Varity frown holding her hands tightly.

"Dr. Wells?" Cisco look wide eyed."No Tony, wait where my dad Cisco?" She look around. "I'm not sure... "Cisco responded.

"Tony escaped from the pipeline."

"He must of got out when the blackout hit." Barry concluded. "Not possible the pipeline was designed to withstand a power outage someone had to let him out. " Cisco shook his head. "I did, I release him." Harrison wheel into the room

"W-why?" Varity question looking at her dad heartbroken. "To divert our intruders attention while we worked to restore Barry speed."

"You use him as a distraction?!" Barry raise his voice. "An unnecessary one as it turns out it seems the plan has fail" Varity turned her head away disgusted at her father's words. "I have his blood on me." Barry gritted his teeth furious. "Dad...How can you do that!?" She look at him straight into his eyes holding her shirt tightly.

"Your showing a lot of sentiment for the man who broke your phone and injured you and Barry for the man who tormented you as a child." He look at the two. "Tony might have been a bully then and now but he didn't deserve to die." Barry replied. "It was either Caitlin,Cisco,me,Varity or you. I had a choice to make him or us, I chose us without a second thought."

"Well, all your talk about miracle cures and scientific breakthroughs but you don't care about people."

"Maybe you care too much Barry. I know being a hero is important to you and I respect your ideas I just don't have the luxury of sharing them. "

"I forgot your game's chess we're all just pawns to you right? So what your move doctor? Which one are you going to sacrificed next?"

"We have to get out of the facility." Harrison spoke as Varity stood there quietly. "We just left him on D level." Barry look at him. "We'll never make it to the main entrance from here." Caitlin type away on the computer.

"What about the garage, the mobile lab van?" Cisco suggested.

"It's my move Mr. Allen and I say we make a run for it."

"Barry look your cells they're rapidly regenerating." Caitlin said showing him the images. "I still don't have my speed. "

"It must be mental not physical."

"Oh you have the yips." Cisco stated. "The what?" Varity look at him in confusion. "You know when a second baseman all of the sudden can't throw to first or a golfer tries to putt then get embarrassed and upset then that make the yips worse and it a hot mess and then they feel more of a failure." Cisco emphasize. "That not helping." Barry said to him.

"Look you asked if I believed you were struck for a reason, if you were chosen I believe. You should too." Caitlin said to him. "Let's move." Harrison spoke to the rest.

They all ran to the van. "Second van keys are inside." The engine in the car stop working as they just turn it on and so did Harrisons wheel chair since it was electrical. "He's here"

Farooq blasted the Van and Barry jump out.

Varity rush to him grabbing his hand pulling him up "Are you okay?" She search is skin for any marks to see none. Farooq then started to approach the two when Wells call out his name.

"You're here for me." He spoke firmly.

"Finally you show your face." Farooq said to him. "Well I wasn't exactly eager to be killed."

"Neither were my friends."

"I know a lot people were hurt that night."

"People, you don't even know thier names."
