Silas glanced inside the hotel room. Maria slept peacefully while Silas's heart was beating so loud. He felt as if his fingers have gone numb. Every sound around him became too vivid. The wind. The traffic outside. Marcus's voice from the other side. His heartbeat and breathing – he was suddenly very aware of everything. Everything paused for a second for him. Did he hear it right? Did Sean end his own life?

He slowly blinked and brought the phone back to his ear, "Hello? Silas?" He heard his brother's voice. Silas exhaled and looked up at the sky. It was near dusk – the sky was gloomy. It matched the situation. "Did I hear that right?" He asked his brother slowly. "Did Sean really –?" He didn't have to complete his sentence.

Marcus heaved a sigh, "Yes," He replied short. "I wouldn't have believed it if it wasn't on the news." He added. There was a pause where Silas only heard Marcus's heavy exhale, "I reckoned you didn't see the news, or else you would have reached me. I just – God, this is awful," Marcus mumbled. "When will you tell Maria?" He asked.

Silas glanced inside the hotel room where Maria peacefully slept with their son. Today was a progressive day – Maria was genuinely happy after the appointment with Dr. Quinn – how can Silas ruin everything for her by telling her the awful news. She will be broken. Silas does not doubt in his mind that she will be blaming herself for what happened. Maria was the last one of the Harrisons who even saw or interacted with Sean and now that he has killed himself, Maria will take all the blame on her and will be left devastated.

"I can't tell her now," Silas muttered while his eyes are fixed on Maria from the outside, "She will not take this news well. We are coming back in two days. I will tell her the first thing after we get home," He answered Marcus. Silas turned back around and soaked in the view of the city from his hotel's balcony. He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, "Can you please ask Charlie to not say anything to Maria about this?" Silas asked.

Marcus took his time to answer. He didn't believe that keeping this from Maria was the right thing to do. "I can, but Silas, don't you think that Maria will not appreciate you not telling her sooner? How about you tell her now and maybe the trip will take her mind off of this," He suggested. Marcus doesn't know about Maria's appointment with Dr. Quinn. All he knows is that Maria accompanied Silas to Chicago on a business tour. Marcus is not a person who asks too many questions, so it was easy to lie to him.

Silas heaved a sigh. He can't share it with Marcus until Maria says so, so he shook his head. "I will explain everything to you later, but now is not the right time. We will be visiting Elizabeth and Leo tomorrow and then we will be back home. Don't worry. I will take care of everything," Silas replied. Marcus couldn't force his brother, so he agreed to his plan before they both ended the phone call.

Marcus leaned against the chair in his office. He looked down at his phone in his hand. He heaved a sigh. He was still shaken by the news. He knew Sean was crazy, but he never imagined him taking such a big step. Marcus's mind immediately went to his son. Sean had a child. How could he do such a thing to his son? Marcus's heart ached for the boy, who will have to live without his father. He closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. He opened his eyes when he heard a knock on his door. "Yes," He voiced and sat straight.

In came William, "Sir, Mrs. Harrison is here." He announced.

Marcus nodded his head and watched William walk back outside before Charlie walked in. She didn't say anything nor did he. He simply looked at her and stood on his feet. Charlie rushed to her husband and embraced him in a hug. Her eyes teared. Sean's smiling face came into her head. Charlie hated that man now, but there was once a time when she thought of him as her friend. Until the truth about his involvement in Ruby's plan came out – Charlie believed that he could be a man for Maria. She was truly upset to know that Elna and he weren't anything more than pawns. And now that he is gone – it hit Charlie hard that even though she doesn't like Elna or didn't like Sean – she sure didn't want any of them to get hurt either.

"How are you?" Marcus asked her while gently rubbing her back. He could hear her sniffle. After a small pause, Charlie nodded her head and pulled away from her husband. She sighed and looked at him, "It is hard to believe that Sean took his own life," Her voice wobbled. Marcus had his forehead creased. He slowly nodded his head, "It is horrible, I know." Marcus added.

Sean was threatening his family. He made someone break into Silas and Maria's house. He was willing to hurt Silas and even Ezra to get to Maria. He wasn't shying away from taking her by force. This is all that Sean accepted, but deep down Marcus believed that he would not go through it. He was just trying to scare Silas. Sean needed help, but no one could help him overcome his obsession with Maria and it ended with his taking his own life. How weird life can be?

Marcus had his arm wrapped around his wife. He looked down at her, "Where are the kids?" He asked. "I left them with William. Well, he offered to look after them while I am here. Ella is sleeping and Kathie has brought her coloring book with her. I am sure they will not cause William any trouble," She replied to him. Marcus nodded his head.

The last couple of days has been hard for Marcus and Charlie. They have been trying to explain their situation to her by scaring her away from Charlie. Kathie is still a little hesitant around her mother, but at least she is not scared of her. Charlie ensures her every day how much she loves her. She has been giving her all her attention, just so Kathie doesn't feel left out. Marcus and Charlie have been having some hard conversations with their daughter – explaining how other people might try to scare her off, but she is not supposed to believe them and come tell her parents what has been told to her.

Charlie has come to realize that this is how parenting for her will be for a while, at least with Kathie. She will also have to pay Kathie extra attention now that she is growing up so that nothing taints her little mind into thinking that Charlie doesn't love her like she loves Ella. She hugs Marcus again and rests her head on his chest – so much has changed lately – it feels like time is flying for her.

"Did you tell Silas?" She asked him. She felt his chest vibrating as he hummed, "Yes, but he will not be telling Maria about it until they return in a couple of days," He informed her.

Charlie slowly nodded – staring into nothing while still embracing him. "I understand," She mumbled. Marcus gently chuckles, "You do? I was asking Silas to tell her now and not hide this from her for long," He asked her – slightly pulling away from her. Charlie still had her arms around his waist while she rested her chin on his chest and looked up at him, "Yes, I do." She nodded. "This news will hit Maria badly. They are on an official trip. Maria will need a space when she learns about Sean's death and honestly, I want to be around her when she learns so that I could be with her during this time," She explained. Marcus hummed and nodded his head.

Back in Chicago, Elizabeth walked into the kitchen where Leo was preparing a meal for tonight's dinner when Maria and Silas comes to visit, "Are you cooking everything?" She asked – peeking into different pots and pans. She was already hungry. Leo chuckled and nodded his head, "Of course, unless you want to give them food poisoning with the food you prepare," He asked – receiving a stingy eye from her along with a slap on his arm. Leo laughed and chopped the vegetables.

Elizabeth her eyes at him, but he was not wrong. She doesn't know how to cook and if she does decide to prepare something for tonight – her brother and Maria will end up in hospital. And she will not bother to even fix a salad, because then Silas will get a chance to get on her nerves for her incredibly poor cooking skills. "I was only asking because I know how much you adore your off days and now you are stuck in the kitchen cooking for my family," She added.

Leo paused and looked at her. He raised his eyebrow, "Maria is my sister, babe." He pointed out. Elizabeth winched, "Damn, yes. Sorry, sometimes it slips off my mind," She bt the tip of her tongue. She doesn't know it happens, but it does. Leo look at her funnily and shook his head before resuming preparing the food.

Elizabeth walked into the kitchen to talk about something else with Leo, but she was feeling hesitant. She twisted her mouth and stayed silent instead. She couldn't come up with the right words. Leo noticed her silence and glanced at her before he inwardly chuckled, "Say whatever you want to say, Elizabeth. It is not going to stay in you for too long anyway," He joked. Elizabeth rolled her eyes at him again, "Arent you in a mood to roast me today?" She asked. Leo chuckled and dropped the knife before he wiped his hands with the apron and put his arms around her instead, "I am sorry," He mumbled with a soft smile on his face. He pecked on her nose, "Say it. What is bothering you?" He asked.

Elizabeth sighed, "I was just thinking about Liam. He has gone really quiet since the last few days," She mumbled. Since Sharon has been in the hospital – Liam has been staying with Leo and Elizabeth. Usually, Liam is a quiet kid, but lately, he has been distant as well. He hardly comes out of the guest bedroom of Elizabeth and Leo's apartment. He only comes out when they are having a meal. He doesn't talk much – Elizabeth is worried that the kids in his school are still giving him a hard time.

Leo exhaled, "He has always been a quiet kid, Elizabeth. And lately, he must have been worried about Sharon. She is still recovering from a stroke in hospital – of course, he is worried." He tried to explain.

Elizabeth nodded, "I understand that, but I am also worried that he is still getting bullied at school." She put down her concerns. "Although, when I asked him about it. He promised those kids are not bothering him anymore, but still I think something else is bothering him as well. I hope he is not hiding something from us." She mumbled. Currently, Liam is at his friend's house. Leo, himself, went to drop him at this boy's house. Elizabeth made sure that it was not one of the kids that bothers him and Liam assured her that it is the only friend he has in school.

Leo smiled as he looked down at Elizabeth, who was squinting her eyes – lost in her thoughts. He bit the inner skin of his cheek, "I didn't know you care this much for him." He gently spoke. Elizabeth immediately looked at her. Her forehead creased, "Of course, I care for him, Leo. I am not heartless." She spoke defensively.

Leo quickly shook his head, "That's not it. I didn't mean that you don't care for others. I know you do – more than me if I am being honest. But I have never seen you take such interest in a child before. It is refreshing to see," Leo told her and kissed her lips.

Elizabeth sniggered, "I will be honest, I am not a big fan of children, but I have a special place for certain children – like my nieces and nephew and well, Liam. I don't know what it is about that kid, but I feel for him." She mumbled before she placed her head on his chest. There was silence while the two just embraced each other for a while. Elizabeth blew her cheeks out and pulled away, "I guess I am overthinking," She shrugged and pushed her fingers through her hair, "A lot has been on my mind lately, so I guess this jumbled on." She chuckled dismissively.

Leo tilted his head, "What has been on your mind lately? Is it about me? Have you had enough of me already?" Leo playfully asked. Elizabeth squinted her eyes at him, "Yeah, you will." She grinned. Leo chuckled and rested his hands on her shoulder, "What is it then?" He asked.

Elizabeth chuckled, "Nothing. Just some stupid faulty thoughts about dad," She waved her hand dismissively. The smile on Leo's face immediately dropped and so does his heart. He gulped and pulled his eyebrows together, "What about him?" He slowly asked.

She shrugged, "I don't know – Silas and I think dad is – I don't hide something or maybe he has been feeling down lately or something. Maybe we are just overthinking, but dad hasn't been answering our phone call on time. He disappears for days without a single phone call. He says he has been busy showing Pops London, but I don't know – I feel like he is covering for something." She paused, "Silas told me that he has not been asking about work like he usually does when he is away, which is very suspicious," She added. Elizabeth chuckled and dismissively waved her hand, "Anyway, this just us wondering – I am sure we are just overthinking," She added – leaving Leo in a very difficult position.

The next morning, in New York, Marcus walked out to his house's backyard. It was still very early in New York – the sky was still in the process of waking up. It was a little over five in the morning. Marcus usually goes on jogging at five, but since he woke up early, he went earlier. Now after he returned, he walked to the backyard and took his phone out. He clenched his jaws and gulped before he dialed the number and listen to the rings. After a couple of rings, Owen finally picked up.

"Marcus? What happened? Why are you calling so early? What time is it in New York? Is everything okay? Is everyone okay?" Owen bombarded his son with questions after questions. It was morning in England and he recently had breakfast that the helper brought to his bed. It has been two days since he had his last chemotherapy and after a couple of difficult and painful days, he was feeling better today.

Marcus blinked as he stared ahead blankly, "How bad is it?" He breathed. His voice wobbled, but he control it.

Owen felt nervous about Marcus's question. He gulped, "What do you mean?" He softly asked – scared of what Marcus said next.

"Whatever is wrong with you. Whatever you have. How bad is it?" Marcus repeated.
