《I'm A Krieger Harris》Chapter Forty Eight

- Paige's POV - November 23rd -
Jade and I wake up to our alarm that we set for when to get up since we have a flight to Orlando. Jade has the Thanksgiving holiday off this year since she worked last year. She wants to meet my family, but also wants to be with me for the holiday.
We reluctantly get up and take a shower together before getting dressed.
I put my hair up into bun after getting dressed into some joggers and a baggy tee, and some Converse. Jade dresses into some jeans, a tee, and a bomber jacket with a snapback and some slip on Vans.
We grab our phones, make sure we have what we need in our suitcases before heading downstairs.
David and Claire are gonna keep Captain for a few days, which Jade took him over last night.
"Want some coffee beautiful?" She asks. "Is that even a question?" I ask as I give her a look, and she laughs. "I should've known, right." She says and comes over to peck me on the lips before returning to the counter.
After a little bit we leave the house and head to the airport.
"Okay, you might want to keep your sunglasses on and maybe turn your hat around because there's paparazzi and reporters always looking for us around the holidays, or just anytime we're traveling, or they know we're going somewhere." I say as I put my backpack on and get my suitcase out of the car.
"That's fucked up. I'm also Houston Police though..." She says. "Don't abuse your job please." I say with a laugh. "I'm not. I can't do anything anyways, I'm off duty." She says. "True." I say as she shuts the trunk.
"Let's go." She says and we intertwine our free hands as we walk towards the entrance of the airport.
"Fuck, there's pap." I say.
"Paige Krieger Harris, how's it feel having been traded not even having played a few months for Man United?"
"Paige, care to comment on the address you made about your breakup with Mallory Pugh?"

"Was the breakup in reality not actually mutual?"
"Paige, can you talk about your opinion on Mallory and Dansby?"
Cameras are flashing but I just ignore it all.
"Paige who's with you?" Someone shouts as cameras close in on me from the side, and one guy is walking backwards in front of us.
"Alright, sir. That's enough." Jade says defensively, and points to the dude in front of us. He continues taking pictures but moves out of the way.
"Dyke doesn't know how to comply with media." Someone says making me turn around.
"Excuse me?" I ask. "Who just called me a dyke?" I say. Then reporters and media guys all point at a dude in khakis and a button up standing with a camera.
"Learn how to not use homophobic slurs and respect people's privacy." I say. "That last part goes for all of you, leave professionals and celebrities alone when they're minding their own business." I say then continue walking through the airport.
Our flight is already open so we board and all before sitting down when we find our seats.
"I'm sorry, baby." Jade says as she kisses my cheek. "It's okay." I say and lean my head on her shoulder.
- Later -
We landed in Orlando a little bit ago and just got to the house.
"So, this is the home I mostly grew up in." I say as we head up to the front door. "It's nice." She says and I nod.
I open the front door and walk in.
"Hi Logy." I say as the family dog walks over and Jumps up against me. "This is Logan. Oh and there's Storm." I say. "Come here, Storm." I say and the dog runs over. "Hi." I say as I pet them both.
I sit down on the floor as Storm smothers me with licking and Logan greets Jade.
"Paaaaaige." I hear and Storm moves before I'm tackled onto my back.
"Ow." I say with a laugh. "Hey, Oak." I say. "Hiiiii." She says as we hug, and she gets off me.

"Oh... New person..." She says nervously as she backs up a little bit. "Oh, Oakley suffers from xenophobia." I say. "Oh, understandable." Jade says and I nod. "She's not gonna be a stranger for much longer, Oak." I say. "I'm Jade, you must be Oakley." Jade says with a smile, and my sister nods. "Well, it's nice to meet you Oakley." "Nice to meet you, too." My little sister says shyly.
"Where's Moms?" I ask. "Out back." She says. "Mmkay, don't say anything about us being here. I'll be out in a minute." I say and she nods.
I pull Jade upstairs with me quickly.
"What are we doing?" She asks with a laugh. "I didn't want them seeing you if they happened to come in." I say as I'm trying to remember where all my swim trunks are.
I find a pair that has palm trees and change into them, and take my shirt off.
"Alright, I'mma go surprise em." I say.
We walk back downstairs quickly, and I lead us to the back door.
I run out quickly and jump into the pool. I resurface and see Jade laughing. "Hello!" I say to my parents. "Hi!" They say as they laugh. I get out of the pull and grab a towel from the little outside storage thing and dry off a little bit.
I hug my Moms before formally introducing my girlfriend.
"Moms, I'd like you to meet my girlfriend, Jade. Jade, my Moms, Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger." I say. "Nice to meet you." Jade says happily. "Nice to meet you, too." Moms say.
- Ashlyn's POV - Later -
So we've spent the last few hours getting to know Jade, I just pulled her aside to talk to her.
"So, I'm sure you know what I'm about to talk about." I say and she nods. "Yes ma'am, I do." She says. "What are your intentions with Paige?" I ask as I cross my arms.
"My intentions are to do my best to keep your daughter happy at all times, let her know that someone is there for her all the time no matter what, that I care for her without a doubt, and that I love and support her with everything in me. Paige is an incredible, beautiful, and caring young woman who deserves everything she wants in life, and deserves the world. I know I can't give her the world, but I promise to do my very damn best to ensure her happiness. I'm falling in love with your daughter because of her amazing personality, and who she is as a person. I don't like her and love her just because of her popularity and fame. I like and love her because of who she is as her own strong, and independent person. I am trying and will continue to try to not hurt her unintentionally and intentionally, because I definitely don't want to, and if I do, I don't know how I would forgive myself for hurting someone like her." Jade says and I am impressed and happy with how much she cares for Ali and I's oldest.
"I like you, Jade. You're very kind, and I can already tell how deeply you care for my daughter. I've been through this two other times, one with a guy who abused her and also nearly killed her, and another who cheated on her. I had a good feeling about the last one, but she messed that up and hurt Paige very badly. So I would like you to understand, that if you end up doing something like that, or even near that, you will have me hunting you down, her mother, her siblings, and her entire family, which I'm sure you wouldn't want to deal with." I say and she kind of shrinks back as she becomes intimidated.
"Yes ma'am, I definitely understand. If I ever hurt her, I would come to you all, no need to hunt me." She says and I nod. "I believe you. Welcome to the family." I say and she nods. "T- Thanks." She stutters and I nod with a small smirk.
