《I'm A Krieger Harris》Chapter Forty Three

- Paige's POV - October 28th -
I just got out of the shower and dressed back into my street clothes when I hear my name as I reenter the main part of the locker room.
"Yeeees?" I draw as I search for who said my name. I realize it was Coach. She motions for me to follow her and I do into the hall.
"I've been told to break some bad news to you." She says, confusing me. "Bad news?" I ask and she nods. "Well, I guess just break it to me. My life's been full of it so nothing has seemed to change." I say as I brace myself for the worst.
"You've been traded." She says, and my eyes widen. "I... I've what?" I say in shock. "You've been traded. I'm sorry kid. You have a lot of potential on this team and I love how hard you work and how your dynamics are with this team, but I didn't have any say." She says. "Who is coming in my place? And also where am I going?" I ask. "Rachel Daly, and Houston." She says.
I seriously got traded for one of my friend's ex's? What the fuck?
"Thanks for letting me know Coach." I say and she nods before I head back into the locker room. Thankfully all I keep in my locker is some extra few little things in case I forget them so I throw them in my backpack before putting it on, telling some people bye, and leaving the facility.
I head to my apartment to pack, which I don't have much.
While packing, I get a call from the Dash saying that they're expecting me by next week at the latest.
I set my phone own once done and get busy again.

My phone starts ringing, and I recognize it to be the FaceTime tone so I grab it off the counter and answer it.
Soon, my girlfriend appears on the screen.
"Hi, baby." She says happily. "Hi." I say, returning a small smile. Her facial expression changes, confusing me.
"What's wrong? Your cheeks get like red whenever something's bothering you." She says. "No, they don't." I say. "Yes, they do boo. There's also boxes behind you. What's up?" She asks.
"I've been traded. I didn't have a say in it, I didn't even know it was happening." I say. "Oh, I'm sorry, P." She says. "Don't be." I say. "How come? That was the team you've always wanted to play for." She says.
"You don't happen to be looking for a roommate would you?" I say. "I mean we're probably ready to move in together anyways but I don't have a place in Houston and wouldn't even know where to start looking." I say.
"Wait, you're moving here? To Houston?" She asks and I nod. "Really?!" She asks happily and I nod again. "Of course I'd want you as my roommate, baby." She says. "Really?" I ask. "Yes!" She says. "So... What do I do then?" I ask.
She tells me to send the stuff I have to her address and she'll help me get settled.
I know we haven't been together long but I love how caring and understanding she is.
There's something over her radio and she picks up her little mic thing to respond since she's sitting in her cruiser.
"Hey babe, I gotta go." She says. "Mkay. Be careful, please." I say. "Always am." She says. "Bye." I say and she smiles before we end the call.

I set my phone back down before getting back to packing.
I'm interrupted maybe an hour later when there's a knock on the door.
"Just a minute." I say as I look around to remember where I put my shirt.
Ah, fuck it.
I head over to the door to answer it. I open it and am met with my entire team, well ex team now I guess.
"Uh... Hi?" I say. "YOU WERE TRADED?!" They all say at the same time, causing me to sigh. I move aside so they can all file in.
They all sit around on the furniture and the floor.
"The reason Coach pulled me out of the locker room earlier is because she was letting me know I've been traded." I say.
"In the place of bitchy Daly?" Christen says making me look at her in shock. "Yes, I said what I said." She says. "Wait, hey that's our teammate." Ella says, referring to the England National Team.
"She cheated on our friend, us three Americans say. "Oh." Ella says and we nod.
"This means you have to get housing quick. Do you need any help?" Tobin asks. "No, I've got someone I'm gonna be staying with." I say.
"Does it happen to be a certain special American?" Lauren asks and everyone stifles a laugh. "You posted a picture of you and Jade, remember?" Tobin says and I facepalm. "Shit, that's right." I say. "Yes, it's a certain special American as you call her." I say. "Aren't you only eighteen?" Jackie asks. "Yes, but I'm turning nineteen next month." I say and everyone says 'Oh' besides Tobin and Christen, and I nod.
"Now, if you guys would excuse me, I need to finish packing." I say politely. There's yes's and mhm's around the room as they all get up. They all hug and tell me bye before leaving.
I look to see Preath still where they were.
"What?" I ask.
"How are you? I mean you get told you're getting traded and you literally just come home to pack." Christen says. "I'm fine." I say, and they both give me an 'I call bullshit' look. "I'm serious. As I was growing up I learned that you shouldn't always expect to stay in one place for long as a women's soccer player. And yes it hurts because this was my first professional team but at least I got to play some great games and score some goals with an amazing team, and form new friends along the way. Also kind of discover more of who I am as a person." I say, and they nod in understanding.
They didn't want to leave me alone, even though I'm perfectly fine, but they insisted in helping me.

The story starts off slowly, more like a slice of life than action-adventure, but it gets there! I’m going to be posting M-W-F I do know how the story ends, and I promise if it ever gets dropped, or I stop doing this, I will post the ending. They never called, yet he is here (censored edition)
Introduction:Not every world needs a Summoned Hero, even if it is possible to summon one. No, really! Everywhere, no matter the time, there are always good people who can use glory, power and personal harem themselves. And the one who was summoned? He is just a resource, nothing more… Translation of the original novel by Avada KadavraThe uncensored version is available here.Authors notes:This is just my take on the whole Hero Summoning thing, where a hero happened to survive.Fatal mistake, an error in a well-oiled mechanism that lasted for generations, gave a Hero a tiny chance to decide his own fate. After all, bad guys never expect a Hero to come, yet, the fucker still does.Partially inspired by the series “You summoned the wrong one” by Aitbaev T.A. who was in turn inspired by “Rise of the Shield Hero”.I have to warn you, Aibaev’s work of fiction is pretty out of ordinary, it makes one breath fire, cry until tears turn to blood and laugh to unconsciousness in equal measure.
