Y/n's POV
"Here we go again," I say, rolling my eyes.
"Lloyd! We've got to get you out of here!" Sensei Wu orders.
"Why should we run? I can just—" Lloyd summons up a burst of energy.
"No!" Sensei and I both say in unison, swatting his hands down.
"Why not?"
"The overlord is after your golden power. The more you use it, the stronger he gets," Misako explains.
"Yeah, so we need to get out of here before—crap!"
Before I can finish my sentence, a claw comes out of nowhere and snatches Lloyd and me up, pulling us away from the group.
"Now you are mine!" The overlord laughs.
"That escalated quickly," I mutter while struggling against the claw thingy keeping me captive.
"Lloyd! Y/n!" Everybody calls.
"We're okay!" Lloyd says, trying to assure them. "Whoa!"
The claw thingy's base starts pulling us upwards, and the speed increases as we get closer to this flying aircraft.
"Uh oh," I say, looking up. "This isn't good."
"What do we do?" Lloyd asks, looking at me.
"Uh..."
I glance around us, looking for something that will get us out of here, but nada.
All I can hear is the overlord's evil laughter as we're pulled up into the aircraft, and brought into a glass container. There's this strange person in this white hooded cloak who slithers towards a panel next to the container, and flicks a switch.
A noise that sounds like a vacuum starts whirring, and there's a strange sensation prickling at my skin. Lloyd groans, as if he's been wounded.
"Lloyd?" I say with concern. He falls onto his knees and presses his palms against the glass, trying to get through the pain.
"Pythor! Let him go!" I shout to the person in white.
Pythor throws off his hood is shock. "How did you know it was me?!"
"Uh... lucky guess?"
Lloyd shudders, and I drop to my knees to be beside him. "Just hang on," I whisper. "It'll be alright."
Lloyd's golden power is swirling all around us. He's getting weaker by the second, which means the strength of the overlord is returning.
"Give up, golden ninja," the overlord taunts. "You are nothing without your friends."
"What am I, invisible?!" I protest. "I'm standing right here!"
The overlord completely ignores me. "You are all alone."
"How rude," I mumble, rolling my eyes. Once I'm over my irritation, I turn to face Lloyd.
"Lloyd, look at me," I say, holding onto his shoulders. He tries to lift his head but it's too heavy, so I gently support the sides of his face with my hands. "You are not alone. I'm right here, and I'm not letting you do this alone."

"We're at 80%, my lord!" Pythor says.
"What?! How did that happen so fast?" I ask, although I don't expect an answer.
"I... I can hear Zane," Lloyd mumbles.
Reflect the light! A voice echoes in my head. It sounds like Zane.
"I hear him too," I reply.
Reflect the light? What does he mean? I look at Lloyd, then I think back to why Zane would be saying those words.
How did you get into the Digiverse so fast? I think, wondering if Zane can hear me. I'm not quite sure how we're even communicating, but I've learnt not to question logic in Ninjago.
Cyrus Borg is aiding us! He had some equipment ready to send us to the... wait, how did you know we were in the Digiverse?
I—uh—never mind. You should already know the answer by now.
Right, Zane replies, remembering that I'm from another world. Where are you guys? Is Lloyd alright?
Yeah, I-I'm fine, Lloyd stammers. Even in his thoughts, his current state is obvious.
You don't sound fine, I reply. I'll talk to you later, Zane. Don't worry, I'll help him redirect his golden power.
"Lloyd, I know you're losing your power, but I need you to redirect everything you've got left towards our teammates," I say. His head sways with his eyes closed, but I can tell he's trying.
"Y-y/n..." Lloyd whispers before passing out.
"Lloyd? Lloyd!" I cry, not sure what's going on. "Wake up wake up wake up!"
Suddenly, I get this pain in my chest that's if my energy is being drained. I collapse onto my hands, not sure what's going on. Why do I feel so weak?
I glance around me, and see double the amount of golden power is surrounding us. I look around, trying to make sense of where all this extra energy is coming from, until I find the second source is... me.
"What the heck?" I say, glancing at my chest, which is the source for a stream of golden energy.
"90%!" Pythor announces.
I'm starting to think the bad guys might win this round, until I start seeing flames. No, I'm not hallucinating. The plane is on fire!
"Ah!" Pythor shrieks as the flames surround him, and slithers always to abandon the ship.
"Lloyd," I say, using the last of my strength to shake him awake. "We... need to.. get... out of here."
His eyelids flicker open. Thank the gods.
"What's going on?" He says as loudly as he can, trying to compete with the roar of the burning flames.

"The plane is going down!" I reply. Suddenly there's a rumble, and it throws both me and Lloyd against the glass. It shatters, freeing us from our prison, so we start to crawl away.
We make it to the loading dock, where we can see the ocean below us.
"We have to jump!" I yell over the wind.
"On three," Lloyd responds, taking my hand. "One, two, three!"
We stumble off of the ship and plunge into the sea just as the plane explodes. I had just used the last amount of strength I had stored within me, and the last thing I see before floating of into unconsciousness is Lloyd swimming towards me.
————-Lloyd's POV———-
As soon as we hit the water, y/n starts to lose consciousness. I can feel my energy returning, so I swim as fast as I can towards her. Once I have her in my arms, I kick up towards the surface.
I gasp for air once my head is out of the water, and I check to see if y/n is still breathing. She is, but barely.
I begin towing her back to the closest shore, trying my best to keep her head above water. Even though I hate it when she's hurt, I can't help but think she looks beautiful despite the situation.
I'm so distracted by looking at y/n that I hardly realize that I've reached land. Although my golden power is limited at the moment, my strength has pretty much returned, so I have no difficulty lifting y/n out of the water bridal style. I carry her onto the shore and lay her on the sand, then I look at our surroundings.
I notice a village in the near distance, so I pick up y/n again and head in that direction. Once I get there, I set y/n down on the grass beside the road. Sitting next to her, I try to connect with Nya with the communicator thing I have sewn into my gi.
"Lloyd, do you read me?" Nya says.
"Loud and clear," I reply.
"I've tried contacting y/n but she won't answer. Is she with you?"
"Yeah, but she's unconscious."
Nya gasps. "What happened? Will she be okay?"
"It's kind of a long story," I admit. "But yeah, she should be okay."
"Don't you dare let my best friend die, Lloyd Garmadon!" She warns threateningly.
"Don't worry, I've got everything under control. Although... do you think you can give us a lift? We're in a remote village, and they don't seem to have any vehicles to lend us. And my golden power is kind of... spent."
"I'll send Jay to come pick you up; we'll talk more once he gets there. Over and out!"
Once Nya isn't talking anymore, I turn my attention back to y/n. Her breathing has gotten stronger, but she's still not awake.
"Oh dear! What happened?" A lady says as she passes by us. "It looks like you two nearly drowned!"
"W-we survived a p-plane wreck," I stutter, my teeth chattering. Holy sh*t it's cold out here.
"My goodness! Come, let's get you inside where it's warm."
She gives me her jacket, which I drap over y/n's shoulders. She's shivering, and I don't want her to catch a cold. I scoop her up again, and follow the lady.
"What are your names?" The lady asks as she leads me down the street.
"Lloyd and y/n," I say, nodding my head towards y/n when I said her name.
"What a nice couple you two make," the lady observes, which makes me blush. "My name is Scarlet, by the way."
"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Scarlet."
"Oh, it's just Ms. now. My husband left me ages ago, and took our daughter with him."
"I'm sorry," I say, meaning it. "Were you close with your daughter?"
Scarlet sighs. "No, she was just a baby when they left. I just wish I had more time with her, that's all."
I don't know what to say next, especially since she seems to be having a moment, so I just stay silent.
We finally arrive at a house, and Scarlet opens the door for us. "This is the guest room," she says, pointing to a door on the right. "You're welcome to stay as long as you need."
"Thank you," I say, and go to put y/n down on the bed.
I glance around the room curiously, and notice a photo on the dresser. It's attached to a letter, and according to the date, it's from a few months ago.
~the letter:~
Dear Mom,
I know it's been a while, but I just wanted to say happy birthday. I've been training a lot lately so I haven't had much time to write. I've included a picture of me, since it's been a few years since you've seen what I look like. The photo was hard to get printed, so consider it a birthday present.
I love you!
Signed,
Skylor Chen

Asturian Warbringer - A LitRPG on Earth
Currently releasing 5 chapters a week Luke Kells liked only one thing about himself: his green eyes. He hated getting bullied, hated being poor, hated being an orphan, hated his weakness, hated the government, hated his life. If someone had given him a button to push and kill everyone but him and his granddad, he would've done it without a second thought. Then, one day, after fainting during a beating, he woke up with memories that would change his life. Magic, martial arts, how to craft special artifacts; he knew it all. Anyone would’ve taken that path to glory at once. However, he had to deal with a lot on his plate first. To even begin walking that path, Luke first had to deal with his own psychological issues. Almost two years of brutal bullying that was akin to torture and no support from the school staff of the police had left him with a broken soul. Before even realizing he could be rich or powerful, he had to bring himself out of the mental hellhole he found himself in. Oh, and his memories also told him the Sentinel Tower would change reality in six months to protect the planet from the Demonic Horde. But that wasn’t as important as not making the local bully angry, right? A story about personal growth, overcoming obstacles, and reaching absolute glory at the end of the path. This is a slow-paced, character-centered story. If you want something faster paced, filled with almost immediate and nonstopping action, check out my other novel: Modern Awakening - A cultivation, LitRPG, apocalyptic novel. Silver, Sand, and Silken Wings
In the opinion of the common storyteller, Sylph did not exist. Frustrated and deceived by her mothers hiding the truth of her parentage, young dragoness Sylph heads out looking for answers along with a childhood friend, a young human alchemist. From the sky high walls of Carthia, through the winding, lively streets of Halfhill, her journey leads her all the way up north to the picturesque nightmare of snow where she hatched. And yet, the answers lie buried in the desert sand on the other side of the continent. In a world of cruel slave traders and a ruthless, self-proclaimed queen, Sylph uncovers the answers she seeks and realizes her grave mistake of ever leaving home. A singular misstep in the hostile city means death, or worse, and the guards are hot on her haunches after blundering her way through the gates. The draft for this work is finished. I am editing the chapters and putting them up. Updates every 14 days because I am tangled up in work.

Despondent Divinity
There exists a Great Seal which split the world in two, one half ravaged by the Darkness, the other a safe haven of Light. Since the collapse of the old world, 20,000 years have passed, and the world watches on as their only protection from the Plague of Plagues slowly dissipates. Only the strong may survive the oncoming Demon horde, and the forgotten prince, Jack Calmira, fears he may not have what it takes. In a world where weakness is punished by death, what are weak men to do? Author's Note: Expect a chapter or two every month, but I'll get faster eventually. This story isn't a Wuxia, but it has a lot of eastern influence. The MC isn't OP and is flawed. Less action, more character driven. Constructive criticism would be appreciated as it's my first story. Chinese culture has inspired a lot of the novel, but much of it is an amalgamation of different cultures, some made up and some not. Think Xianxia + Shounen with a mix of western and eastern fantasy elements.

Ashen Ghost
Gravelroy, the last free city, giant metropolis. All ethnicities, cultures, and religions can be found there. Merchants, sailors, criminals, everyone is welcome inside its walls. Everyone but a king, the free citizens don't kneel. But some rulers on the continent would like for this to change... A country bumpkin coming to the Big City. Raised by the wilderness as much as the war. Turned criminal by necessity. A wounded and insane woman. A monster lurks in her prison. She struggles to regain her memories and dreams of escape. A tiny, insignificant meeting. It will send ripples through the world. Given time, ripples can become waves. With enough luck, once in a very long while, a wave will turn into a storm. Slaves, commoners, and soldiers. Bishops too, kings even. Perhaps the Emperor himself. Everyone will feel it. But for now, the stubborn little rock has yet to fall into the waters. He has quite a long way to go in fact. Let's give him a little nudge, shall we? With chance, something might happen. Life can be unpredictable. Especially when we consider the adventures of a crazy girl and a weird lad. Things might get dramatic as the prelude suggested, or they might decide to do as they want and go nuts. Maybe a bit of both. The girl will fight against her own mind, her prison, and her fate. Who imprisoned her and why? But maybe she has imagined everything. She is mad after all. To save someone dear, the boy fights hunger and city guards. Sometimes pigeons as well. Well, this city is cracked anyway. Cover art by Paul Lerouvillois.
