《The LOVE of a BETA》Chapter 4: Day of Reckoning

"Stand up Beta. NOW!" I roared. No more mercy. I was done. This had been the last straw. He had threatened wolves that I considered my lifeline.
He was slow to get up clearly still trying process what had just happened. The blood has nearly stopped flowing from his nose leaving only a blood stained face and shirt. His eyes widen even more watching me stalk towards him. Pushing my chest against his, I make sure he and his wolf understand that I am the dominant...I am the Alpha.
"I will save you the embarrassment of being dragged to my office. However, I will have no problem doing so if you force my hand. Do not bother trying to contact your warriors. They are currently unavailable. You and I have much to discuss. Now get your ass to my office" I whisper in his ear.
Taking a small step back, huffs but walks towards the hospital door that leads to the hall. I follow behind with the guard wolves holding back. I did not want to draw attention to what was happening unless I had too.
I link one of my best warriors who also happens to be one of the wolves trailing behind Dane.
I've already instructed for extra guards to be placed at the Beta's suite entrance, Caleb's suite, as well as your suite and office. He links back.
I answer.
We only pass a few pack members on our way to my office, I motion for Dane to sit down once we enter. Without opposition, he quietly sits down staring at his feet. He looks like a lost, little pup. What the hell happened on the walk down the hall?
"Beta...Beta Dane...Dane!" I finally had to yell to get his attention. I have never seen him unfocused like this. Good...cause his ass is mine.

"Yes Alpha" he replied pitifully.
"While you were away, changes were made. New rules regarding the treatment of pack members have been implemented. I would suggest you learn them. Your warriors have been moved from your suite to appropriate lodgings. Also, the pack will now be known as The Blue River Mountain Pack. Once Titus returns he will be appointed as Gamma. The Chas already approved all the changes and they are final" I said with as little emotion as possible.
He nodded. "My mate...he's my mate" he mumbled.
"Speak clearly Beta" I retorted.
"The grey wolf at the hospital. He's my mate..." he said slowly.
The only grey wolf that I saw at the hospital was Caleb...HELL NO! He was lying. I quickly linked Caleb.
. Before I could ask he answered my question.
Yes. That asshole is my mate. If he comes near my pups again I'm going to kill him.
"I have not seen that wolf before. Who is he?" Beta Dane asked.
"That's none of your concern. I will speak with the Council tomorrow to ask guidance on breaking the bond" I replied.
He jumped to his feet with his chest puffed out. His face was red and fists clinched. "WHAT? Why in the hell would you do that? That's my mate. This is between me and him. It is my choice to accept or reject, you have no say in this Alpha" he roared.
It was almost comical watching him get angry. Almost...
I did not move from my seat, instead I sat back and looked him straight in the eyes. "Do you honestly think that he would want anything to do with you after you threatened his pups? Do you think that I would allow you anywhere near him? He has already had to endure the pain of losing one mate, I will not allow him to have to endure the pain of being your mate" I said with disgust. I knew my words were cruel, but he had it coming.

His body tensed and I knew that he wanted nothing more than to rip out my throat. But he knew he would lose. "Sit down Beta" I said.
Suprisingly, he sat. "For the time being you will be confined to your suite. You will be provided meals. Guards will accompany you if you desire to run but you will not be allowed out of the territory. Your warriors have been re-assigned to different duties. If I find that you attempt to contact them or leave your room without my consent, I will strip you of your Beta title and have you banished. I will work with the Council as quickly as possible in an effort to resolve this problem. I welcomed you into my pack and allowed you to keep your Beta title. In return you have done nothing but disrespect and undermine my authority. That shit ends tonight. Do I make myself clear?" I said loudly and with absolute authority.
The four guards I had linked to escort him to his suite arrive and flank his chair.
His eyes had not left mine. "They will escort you to your suite" I said. I saw him flinch before he stood up to leave. He left without saying a word.
I need to arrange a meeting with the Council before I went to check on Caleb and Felix. I can only pray to the Goddess that this won't make Caleb want to leave. I know I am being selfish but I want my best-friend back. I want our pups to grow up together.
I quickly picked up my phone and dialed.

The Afterlife, And How To Survive It (Barely)
Larry Foulery's monotonous, directionless life changed drastically, when he got shot in the face. Reincarnated into a new world, where he has nothing to lose and everything to gain, and with the honor and dedication of an part-time fast food cashier, he is ready to face this adventure. Kinda. The story takes place in the cynical world of Afterlife, where status screens and are considered normal, and the rule of physics cry in a corner, because nobody cares about them, and they are alone and lonely, and their family hasn't called them in years. Anyways, have fun. BTW don't stare too long into the story cover. I get the feeling it stares back. I'm trying to improve my writing, so feel free to bombard me with criticism.

Mobius
Far in the future, humans have thoroughly colonized space through the use of floating colonies and artificially replicating the Earth whenever possible. Most of these endeavors have gone well, with humanity spreading across the universe like the seeds of plants floating in the wind. Yet still there lurks the great mistake, the endless station of Mobius, a megastructure which hasn't ceased its building in over a century. Dante, a man living in this megastructure, is tasked with the recording of stories told by criminals, particularly those who travel between strata. One day, a prisoner is captured claiming to be Captain Pluto, an infamous criminal thought to be fictitious by most scholars. Even more curious, he claims to hail all the way from Stratum 56, a location so far away from Dante's Stratum 999 that it would take lifetimes to traverse such a distance. Dante must discern whether or not the story is false or true, and the longer he lets Captain Pluto speak, the more difficult his task becomes. *****Average chapter length will be 10k words give or take. This isn't a very serious story for me. I'm writing this to blow off steam. Updates will happen infrequently because of this, and it will most likely be unpolished unless I begin to take it more seriously.
