《The Tracking ✔》Chapter 53- Reunion

Jamie squirms under the rogue, trying to break free as his eyes land on me. Tears gather in my eyes without my permission, but I keep a cold expression of my features as I look at Morgan.

"Let him go." My order comes out shaky and I swallow a lump in my throat as the rogue holds a knife to Jamie's throat.

"Give me what I want." Morgan says throat clenched teeth. my lips form a thin line as I look at at him, angrier than I could possibly imagine to feel.

The rogue walks closer to me with Jamie, the knife already making him bleed a little. Jamie appears to be trying to stay tough, but I see the fear in his eyes. A fear that reminds me back to when we were kids.

"Do what he says or I'll kill the kid." The rogues says seriously. I watch his body language to try to tell if he's just talk- but for the first time I can't tell.

"JC." Jamie says my name, tears gathering in his eyes as he wonders what I will do. I don't know if Mom or Dad told him what I am, but if not then he probably won't understand why I can't give them what they want.

"No." I struggle to say. One the words comes out of my mouth, I feel the wind knocked out of my lungs. I feel like I could easily have a panic attack. Morgan looks at me in surprise, then suddenly takes Jamie in his arms- putting the same knife to his throat.

I try to keep calm. Breathe in, breathe out. Repeat.

"Please." Jamie begs me. I let out a breath and look down. I fight to keep myself under control. Theo better get here soon because I don't know what to do. I don't have enough strength to get the knife and get the rogue and Morgan away from Jamie.

"One last chance Jacqueline. Make me a Spellbound Lycan or you're little brother dies."

"You'd kill a kid Morgan?" Theo's voice relaxes my slightly and I feel his powerful presence come up behind me. The rogue who previously held Jamie legs begin to visible shake as my mate towers over him.

"To get what I want? Yes." Morgan gulps as well, but keeps the knife pressed to his throat.

"You know we won't let either happen." Theo's deep voice echos through the warehouse. The majority of the rogues are dead, but the ones who are still alive start to go over to Morgan's side. What will happen now? What's Theo's move? He has to figure out something soon because I'm frozen.

The warehouse seems to grow quiet as another presences fills the large room. Morgan's eyes drift behind us and his eyes widen. "Jared?" he breathes out the name.

I don't dare to turn around and take my eyes off of Jamie. Morgan's grip loosens and I use my abilities to get the knife out of his hand, slinging it across the room. Morgan notices, but doesn't try to fight me. His attention stays on Jared. Jamie rushes over to me and put my arms over him protectively.

I place a protection spell that Kelsia taught me over him, so no one can hurt him. Theo is the only one who seems to notice this, since everyone else is stunned at the new arrivals.

Jamie's arms circle around my body as he silently cries. Theo comes over to me and puts his arms around the both of us. He pulls us further away from Morgan, then we turn to where Jared is.

He walks in with our pack, some of Bellamy's, and some important looking people I don't recognize.

"Stop Dad." Jared says finally reaching us. Morgan walks up to him. The rogues growl, warning him to stop but he puts a hand up silencing them.

"I'm doing this for us, you would be wise to get on board." Morgan hisses out, but the love for his son shines in his eyes. Jared breathes out, shaking his head.

"You're destroying lives."

"I'm building them."

"You destroyed my life." Jared's voice shakes as he says this, and I hug Jamie closer to me.

You should kill him Theo.

Let Jared talk, everyone is here. Nothing bad will happen now. Theo replies back, hugging Jamie and I tighter. I want to tell him about what Jared told me. About how he wants his father dead. We shouldn't trust this man.

Morgan laughs at Jared's accusation. "I gave you a life to live, son."

Jared this time laughs, "What kind of life did you expect me to live? A life of crime? Poverty? Hate? You claim all of this is for us, but it's really for you. You've always wanted to be top of the line. But you'll never have a future. Not like this."

There's a silence and Morgan watches his son carefully, as if he's waiting to realize something.

"You've seen it?" Morgan asks, his eyes widening and his lips parting. His confidence drifts away and just like that he seems to listen to what Jared is saying.

"I've seen it." I'm confused. Seen what? How could Jared possibly know how this would turn out?

Either way, Morgan's shoulders drop and his head hangs low. "You... understand right? Why I wanted this?"

"No." Jared answers with a harsh tone. He turns back to the our group and nods. The ones I don't recognize come forward, power seems to radiate off of them. I find myself avoiding eye contact, all though they haven't even looked at me.

"They are going to take you. If you want any shot at a decent future, you will go." Jared pauses, looking at the rogues remaining, "All of you will."

Morgan drops to his knees and looks over at me, then to Jamie in my arms. A flash of regret shows in his eyes, but Theo turns us away as different ones start restraining all of the rogues.

I stop, bending down slightly to talk to Jamie. "I wouldn't had let anything happen to you. You know that right?"

"I know." He answers honestly. I smile and let out a breath I was holding in. "You've always protected me." He adds.

"Jamie?" The voice of my mother comes to my ears. We both turn to see her and our father at the same time. My brother runs to them, throwing himself in their awaiting arms.

My mother's tears flow uncontrollably. Theo and I both watch the moment in front of us. A feeling of jealousy comes to mind, but I almost don't have it. They will still hate me and find a way to blame me for this as well.

Mom looks up to me then and opens her arms wider.

Inviting me to join.

Tears gather in my eyes and without a single word said from her or I, I dive into their warm familiar embrace.

One Day Later

"We made you a gift JC, to say thank you for being a kick-ass Luna." Natalie and Melanie approach me with their famous fruit baskets wearing a big smile on their faces.

They've came around to the idea with me being their Luna after I basically saved their life. Their mother still doesn't particularly love me, but she applauded Theo and I for our bravery on protecting the pack for a while until more forces arrived.

"Thanks girls!" I hug them and watch as they walk away. They noticeably swoon over Jared who walks up to me, he notices too and smirks.

Already becoming a little player. I grin, laughing at him.

"Has the council spoke with you yet?" He asks as he sits down with me. He watches the girls out of the corner of his eye, but I can tell his question is serious and he wants to know. I pick some grapes out of the fruit basket and pop some in my mouth.

Morgan and his rogues were taken by some council members. It was my idea to call the council, Theo agreed reluctantly. The council will not allow Spell Bound Lycans to become a thing. Whether that means helping us, or killing me I'm not sure. However, they are our hope in all of this. Chase contacted them while Theo and I surrendered to morning, but he found out that Bethany from my home pack, contacted the council and alerted them of what was going on first.

Obviously, her intentions were not pure. She informed them that I was dangerous and putting everyone in willing danger. Chase told them what Theo and I have done to try to protect our pack, and they've seemed to believe us more than her based on how they haven't came for me yet. We aren't sure yet though, they aren't people of many words.

"No. Later today I think though." I say, smiling nervously as I start binge eating. Not only do I eat my feelings sometimes, but I nervous eat. I am very nervous.

"No need to be nervous, it's all going to be fine." Jared says confidently. I chuckle and throw a grape at his head. He catches it quickly in his hand and pops it in his mouth mischievously. "How do you know little boy?" I tease.

"I know that you're safe now." Jared states, getting a few of my fruits and eating them himself. I study him and try to figure out how he's able to be so positive about some things. It's like he knows what's going to happen sometimes.

"Jared, how do you seem to know things before anyone else does?" Everything he has told me, has been true or has happened now. Maybe it's shear luck or the fact he's a very smart boy, but I feel like it's something more.

Jared looks down at my fruit basket and let out a sigh. He took some pieces of watermelon and cantaloupe. "Follow me."

I walk with him down the halls of the pack home until we get to the attic. He eats the rest of the fruit in his hand and sits down in a bean bag chair. I do the same except I sit on the cot.

"I..." He looks at me and then looks away. He gulps and his hand grips his knee. He's nervous to tell me whatever it is. "I can see the future."

One more chapter and an bonus epilogue for all my wonderful readers. I had to leave you on a cliff hanger just one more time! Ending this book took a little more time than I anticipated. For once, I didn't know how it would end either! But now I do :)
