I feel well rested the next day after laying beside JC all night. I turn over and watch as her eyes flutter. She must be having a pretty intense dream because her eyes are moving fast under her eye lids.

I lay there for a while and watch her dream a little longer, then kiss her forehead. I try to get out of the bed carefully, but my leg knocks the files and papers off the floor and scatters them in the floor.

"What?" JC mutters and wipes drool from her mouth, then falls back into a deep sleep. I laugh a little to myself and start gathering the paper on the floor. I put them in the correct folder and lay them on my desk in the bedroom.

I need a shower so I go to the bathroom and start the water. I put on a playlist of Drake and Kendrick Lamar then get in the shower. I wash the dirt of my body with my favorite soap.

Today feels different. I guess because I'm a Spellbound Lycan now, although I can't tell other than my body feeling slightly different. But for the first time in a long time, I feel like everything will be okay.

JC opens the door to the bathroom and strips of her clothing.

"Can I shower in peace?" I joke as she gets in the shower with me.

"Of course not." She sarcastically says back. I pull her naked body close to mine and kiss her passionately.

"I tried letting you sleep in." I say in between the kisses, but she keeps coming back and pressing up against me.

"Shhh." She shushes me by putting her index finger against my mouth, while her other hand trails lower.

I smile and shake my head at her playfulness. She isn't like this too often, so I take what I can get.

I bite her finger that is still around my face and she laughs.

"I love you." I say kissing her neck and collarbone. She's out of breath by the time she's able to say it back to me.

"I love you too baby."

She connects her lips with mine in a heated desire as the water glides down both our bodies. I wrap my arms around her back and squeeze her butt. She smiles against the kiss but keeps kissing me with everything she has.

I pick her up and pin her against the sturdy shower wall.

"Take me." She demands and immediately I grant her wish.

"Hey man. How are you feeling?" Chase asks me as I prepare myself breakfast in the kitchen. I note that he looks like he's uncomfortable or feels obligated to ask me how I am.

"I'm fine. Thanks for asking." I reply looking at him as if he will yell at me or tell me I'm not a good Alpha for making the choice I made.

Chase nods and turns to make his own food. I'm sure he was up all night so I'll mention that it's okay for him to rest or check in on Violet, his mate.

"Thanks for handling things here last night. You should get some rest now." I suggest, but make it sound like an order.

Chase sets down his bowl of cereal and pours milk in it. "Yeah, well I don't sleep much anymore." He says it as if it's my fault that he doesn't sleep, but I ignore it. I shouldn't be jumping to conclusions.

"You'll need your strength. The fight isn't over." I say taking a bite of my fruit loops.

Chase puts the milk back into the refrigerator. "It will never be over. Also, wasn't it part of your plan to become this freak super werewolf so we wouldn't have to fight?"

There is is.

I drop my spoon in the bowl and look over at Chase. His face is almost unreadable but I know what he must be thinking; what everyone is thinking.

"What do you mean by that?" I ask for more of an explanation on his choice of words.

"I mean that the fight will never be over if JC is alive. And you're suddenly this Spellbound Lycan and you act like all our problems will be solved with that." Chase has a harshness in his tone and I have to bite back a growl.

Chase is my best friend, but he is also my Beta. He deserves to be heard if he has concerns. But I'm the one who makes the decision for this pack.

"So what do you suggest? That I kill my mate?" I ask logically and try to avoid lashing out against what I think he's saying.

"All I'm saying is you made sure that wouldn't be an option when you got Kelsia to die for you to become this thing."

I stand up from my seat, the chair scrapped the floor loudly. Chase stood up too, preparing himself for me to fight him. His nostrils flared and his fists clinched at his sides.

For some reason, I feel like it's a lot harder to hold back from wanting to punch his teeth down his throat. But I do it anyway. I sit back down in my seat despite the steam rolling off my back

"You want to leave? Take Violet and leave. You can go to JC's home pack. I'm sure you will all have a great time discussing how little JC's life means to all of you." I raise my voice, but remain in control. "I became a Spellbound Lycan to protect her and this pack. I did for all of us, not just for JC. And I had no idea Kelsia would die, she made that sacrifice because she believed it was the best decision. She did it not just for me, but for all of us. Don't you dare question my loyalty to this pack, I didn't ask for any of this. "

Chase looks at me for a minute processing what I just said. I sit down and eat the rest of my cereal. I'm upset, don't get me wrong. But I'm the Alpha of this pack and I won't let Chase upset me so much I won't eat the rest of my breakfast.

I go back to eating my cereal. Chase is still standing in the same place I left him when I was so close to fighting him.

"We never asked for any of this either." He replied and tossed his plastic bowl in the sink. Then he left the room.

I walk in at what seems like a heated discussion between Theo and Chase. Chase just stormed off, but Theo sits eating his breakfast as if nothing happened.

"Everything okay?" I ask. I expected Chase to be upset about Theo becoming Spellbound, but I had a feeling it was more than that.

Theo looks over and unexpectedly sees me standing at the door way of the kitchen. I go over to Theo and kiss his cheek. I start making my bowl of cereal when he finally speaks.

"Chase is just having a hard time adjusting to everything. Everyone is." He says in defense for Chase. It's more than that and I'm sure Chase said more hurtful things to Theo than Theo is letting on.

Everyone is adjusting to a risky life is what Theo is saying. The women and children haven't had to go into the bunker in years. They've been down there for weeks now. Warriors are away from their mates and children are away from their fathers.

I would change all of that if I could in a heart beat. I don't want them to live like this but until we find a solution then we can't do very much. Theo can't leave his pack, I can't leave or I will get captured. If Theo and I were both to leave, whose to say that the rogues wont still retaliate on this pack? It's a no win situation for everyone, but we are working on finding a way to make things better.

Theo has a distant look in his eye as I watch him eat the remaining of his food.

Chase is Theo's best friend and I know they've been distant lately. They still care about each other but Chase doesn't know the full situation because Theo has never got the time to tell him. Chase can get under Theo's skin better than anyone can. So, it's no surprise to see Theo like this- blank.

"I understand." I simply reply back and start eating my food.

The rest of the day goes by without any red flags. Theo's mom came up and we are making dinner now for the warriors.

They've been training and trying to find where the pack of rogues are hiding all day. Theo just told them to come back home after fifteen hours of nothing.

Kate and I have been getting along quite well. Even though she isn't aware, she's helped me get my mind off of other things like the rogues, Chase, and my parents.

"Will I be getting any grandbabies in the near future?" She suddenly asks as she cuts up some onions.

I stop cutting up some vegetables and sigh. "I'm sorry, Theo and I decided kids will not be an option for us."

Kate shakes her head in disappointment and glances over at me. "Because you're a hybrid and he's a spellbound Lycan now?"

"I didn't know you knew about Theo." I say preparing myself for her to hate me too for letting him make that decision.

Theo hadn't told his mom because he didn't know when it would happen. It happened the day before yesterday and he hadn't seen his mom since then to tell her.

"Everyone knows. The twins came back and told everyone. Luckily I was down there to calm everyone down. I said that when I come back up here I will get more information to put everyone at ease."

So that's why the twins asked how Theo was doing. They had been up here for longer than I initially thought. They must had witnessed what happened that night.

I nod and continue cutting. "Kelsia knew it would be the best for this pack and for us. Theo just doesn't know how to explain it to everyone yet with everything going on."

"This is his pack, he will have to help everyone understand. The twins made it look like it was a ritual or sacrifice since Kelsia died. It's made everyone worried for their future even more so now. "

I place the sliced vegetables in the pan. I have to fight the urge to correct her that this is our pack.

"We've spoke about it. When he gets the time he will go down there and talk with everyone. We both will."

"You've both got so much on your plate. So he can start tonight, by talking to the warriors."

"We will." I reply and start finishing the rest of the meal, as does Kate.

Despite her being one of the nicest people I've encountered this far, she still doesn't seem to get the fact that not only is Theo the Alpha now, but I am also the Luna.

I guess not only I have to get used to that, but everyone else does too.

Theo enters the kitchen first kissing his mother's cheek and then kisses mine.

"Mother, we need to discuss bringing Drake here. It's been too long, and he would like to help." Theo says after a few moments of silence as we gather the utensils and plates.

I almost forgot about Drake. I mean, I didn't forget completely but so much has been going on and I hadn't heard his name spoken in several days.

I feel guilty, but I'm so thankful Theo hasn't forgotten about our friend.

"Theo, you're the Alpha now. I just thought we should respect your father's command for a while after his death. But it has been long enough." Kate replies back, glancing back at me and then back to Theo is also surprised.

Kate wasn't exactly thrilled when Theo first mentioned Drake joining the pack, but now she seems at peace with it.

"Theo can we go get him?" I ask without thinking properly or clearly.

Theo immediately shakes his head, "You know what I mean." I input before he can unknowingly make me look stupid in front of his mother.

I know I can't leave these walls.

I gather the plates up in my arms and watch as Kate gives me a stern glance before she gathers the cups that have ice in them.

"I'll send someone to retrieve him after the meal." Theo says as he gathers the forks, spoons and knifes. We all walk to the dining room and set the room up.

I'm excited to see Drake again, it feels like months of not seeing him when really it's just been a month.

He's staying in a home off in town that is owned by Theo, so he's not homeless and we've sent money for him to get groceries.

Theo whistles out the door for the pack warriors to come in and soon enough they all come in and take a seat at the long table.

Alpha Bellamy and Luna Kelly join us as well. Kelly walks immediately to Kate instead of greeting me or Theo. However, Bellamy greets us by shaking Theo's hand and nodding respectfully to me.

Bellamy takes a seat at the table and calls Kelly over from talking to Kate. Which I should add, Kate looks a little uncomfortable before Kelly finally takes her place beside her mate. Theo and I remain standing at the head of the table.

Kate gets to her seat on the left side of me, although it takes her a moment to remember that the Alpha and Luna of the pack are the last ones to remain standing at an important meal.

Not everyone is here. About twenty people are still out there watching and defending our pack borders but once each warrior is done eating they will trade out.

"I'd like to take a moment to thank all of you for how hard you've worked to secure this pack and protect the lives in it. It is a complicated situation that we want to solve soon, but until then- your bravery and loyalty means everything. Kate and Luna JC have prepared this meal for you, in appreciation. So dig in!" Theo announces.

We sit in our seats. A lot of the warriors are watching us carefully and even more so Theo, because some of them witnessed what happened a couple nights ago with Kelsia.

Theo hasn't showed much signs that I know of yet, but he said he still feels slightly weak which is improving with time.

We should see a change soon.

"Alpha, I know a lot of men and myself would like some questions answered. Would you mind if we asked now? While almost everyone is here." A warrior from a few men down asks Theo.

Theo is still placing different food on his plate when he gets asked this and he looks partially stunned. I guess he wasn't expecting that to happen, but I knew it would.

"Yes, Jackson. Ask away." Theo respondes. I continue making my plate although I'm sure it will be cold by the time I actually get to eat it, as will Theo's food.

So the questions began. Some warriors wasn't so happy with our answers but a lot accepted it.

They want to defend their home, but also they want to defend their future. It doesn't mean they will like doing it, but they know it needs to be done.

Eventually, Theo and I begin eating and Theo sends out two warriors to go retrieve Drake. Bellamy and Kelly remained silent through the questions and eventually excused themselves after some noticeable sexual tension between the two.

Theo and I were just getting finishing up our cold meal when the two men got back.

"Alpha, Luna." The men approach us, Drake no where in sight.

"Where is Drake?" I ask, waiting for him to come around the corner so I can engulf him in a big hug.

"He's gone. It looks like he took all of his belongings." One of the warriors says.

Theo and I look at each other, puzzled. Drake wouldn't just leave would he? He would be going back to being homeless.

"Theo, why would he do that? He knew he would be accepted here soon. He wouldn't just leave. I know he wouldn't." I turn to Theo with small tears in my eyes.

Drake is an important person to me, and all I've ever wanted was him and Jared to be a part of this family. They are my family; they believed in me when no one else did.

Theo doesn't respond because he's literally speechless.

"He left a note." The other warriors says, handing up a envelope that is addressed to me. They both dismiss themselves as I stare at my full name written on the front.

It is still stuck together, so no one has read it yet. I open it up quickly and gasp at the content of the letter, a tear dripping on the pages.
