《The Tracking ✔》Chapter 41-The One Who Loses

Creating that fire was nothing short than pure magic and emotions. Even with my telekinesis, I have never felt so alive and weak at the same time. It was pure energy coursing though my veins. I almost forgot what I had accomplished because it went black for second when I was falling.

Everything was fuzzy and my body was tired, but I felt so present in the moment. I can't describe it and I craved more, yet was scared of it. Chase has carried me inside the pack house and laid me gently on the couch.

I fought to keep my eyes open as I looked out the window at the fire, Theo and Kelsia stood in the sparks and smoke. He is on his knees with his back turned toward Kelsia and she held the silver knife with my blood in her hand.

I have to stay awake to make sure he is okay when everything is done.

Kelsia places the blade to what looks like the back of his neck and Theo's face turns in pain, but he doesn't look to be screaming. He's holding back, trying to be tough.

Theo's eyes open to watch me through the window and I stare back at him. Our eye contact relaxing each other unexpectedly.

"I can't let him go through with this." Chase says to himself. I break eye contact with Theo to focus on Theo's Beta in the corner.

Chase is looking out the window, pacing back in forth with his hands in his pockets. He must think I'm asleep, so I don't move but follow him with my eyes.

Chase lets out a series of low remarks as he debates whether to go outside and stop the transformation. Then I guess he reaches a conclusion because he reaches for the handle and I muster all the strength I have left to lock it.

"This is what needs to be done Chase." I say sternly. Chase looks at me with displeasure and rattles the door harder.

"He's my brother." He almost pleads with me, but instead it sounds like he is ordering me to open the door.

I can see where Chase would be hesitant about this. But Theo and I, as Alpha and Luna have decided. We need this to happen. I can't let him get in the way of that or get hurt in the process of stopping it.

"He's my mate." I say back and push Chase down into a chair forcefully, which lands a few curse words thrown my way. I manage to sit up in the couch, ignoring his rage at me.

My eyes train back on Theo and it seems that Kelsia is pouring the bowl on the back of his neck, this time Theo lets out a loud scream. Chase tries to get up again and I put the pressure on him to stay in the seat.

"What if something goes wrong? He's screaming. What if the witch isn't who she says she is?" He asks trying to reason with me. Kelsia is a honorable witch, I can sense it and without a doubt, I know she is true to her words.

"You don't need to worry." I say, giving Chase a slight smile which he doesn't return back. I turn my attention to see Theo collapsed on the ground beside the fire. Kelsia stood over him chanting some more. Not an ounce of fear invaded my thoughts.

"It is done." I conclude, letting out a sigh. I let Chase stand from the chair and watch as he walks to the door to get out.

"Help me go check on him." I stop him and try to stand up, but fall back down with a loud thud.

"I'll bring him in here." Chase growls out and looks at me as if I killed his best friend, his Alpha. I decide to ignore that, but nod at his verbal response. He walks out to the where Kelsia and Theo are at. Kelsia and him share a small conversation and then he places Theo over his shoulder, carrying him in.

"Lay him here." I say patting the empty space on the couch with me. Chase does and I lay his head on my lap, stroking his hair.

"Watch his neck, we want to make sure everything enters his blood stream." Kelsia says as she walks weakly inside. I look at Theo's neck to see a cut so deep with purple and red sticky fluid inside it. It was the shape of a half moon with a bold line in the middle of it horizontally.

"Is he okay?" Chase demands and answer. I look at Theo's resting facial features, I know he is okay. I know because of our bond, but I also know for another reason as well. I can't place it.

Kelsia sits down in one of the chairs with a low barely noticeable moan. "Yes, he will be. He just needs a couple hours of rest."

"Are you okay?" I ask, watching her carefully. She doesn't look too well and her eyes lay closed, but scrunch in pain every few seconds. When Kelsia opens them, I see sadness and agony.

"I'm dying JC." Kelsia says, laying her head back.

This was a short chapter but I felt it should end here. Why do you think Kelsia is "dying"?
