《The Tracking ✔》Chapter 2-The Ten Commandments

Mr. Sam Winchester is my inspiration for Theo!

"Get your head in the game son!" My father called out in the distance using his powerful voice, almost making all the other applause and cheers die out. My ears rang and I could feel the tension building in my shoulder blades. I had zoned out in the field, flashes coming alive in my vision.
I caught the football, going through opponents with speed and tactic. Then ran it home. The buzzer and cheers of victory sounded across the field by my fellow players, as they came up and surrounded me in different congratulations and "hell yeah's."
I grinned.
And all though I smiled, I didn't care about any of it. Sure, I laughed and hyped up my team but I wasn't there mentally. I didn't feel the victory.
Instead, I was hit by visions of a vibrant woman. She had brunette hair and a fierce smile. Her birthmark set on her cheek bone, resembling a star. I couldn't quite make out her face, just the soft shape.
I took my helmet off, hoping to shake these images out of my head so I could focus. It's gotten worse as days pass.
"What's your problem man?" Chase came up behind me and asked. I shrugged his hand off my shoulder and clinched my teeth. I felt possessive of her already.
I had planned to visit the pack listed on the website, but things held me back. Nonetheless, I didn't want anyone finding her before me, especially my enemies in case her description is known by them.
Weasels are everywhere.
"Nothing." I said and clapped my hands together at my team. I shook a few fellow teammates hands and walk to the bleachers where my mother and father stood patiently.
"Good job son, your hard work has paid off, now one to another task. Get cleaned up and your mother and I will speak with you in my office." My father, the Alpha said patting my shoulder and walking with my mother to the car hand in hand.
I longed for that, holding hands with my mate. My mother and father had a deep passionate connection with one another. Their love almost seemed to outshine every mated couple in my pack. My father's responsibility as Alpha never kept him from being a wonderful father to me and considerate husband to my mother.

"Want to come with the guys and I to the club? We need to celebrate end of the season." Chase approached me, asking lowly as to not let everyone know what we usually did after games.
I turned, noticing the guys behind Chase waiting for my answer.
"I can't. I need to take care of some business with my father." I replied, letting the other guys hear me so they wouldn't complain or think they could talk me into it. Business with the Alpha is never to be taken lightly.
"Understood." They all mumbled respectfully.
"Enjoy your night guys!"
I walked to my car, a 2017 Ford expedition. I climbed into my seat, and felt my muscles relax against the black leather. I was already ready for bed by this point, though my wolf wanted to run.
While I could be training with my pack and developing my skills as the future Alpha, my father had me participating in school sports. I was thankful that it was end of season and I would be graduating college soon.
My father had everyone participating in sports. He didn't want our childhood taken from us. He believes that while we should gain knowledge about fighting, our wolves, and leadership, we should also learn other things as well.
Science, Literature, Math, Anatomy, etc. Other packs keep their younger members home for "homeschooling" and teach them history of the werewolves, fighting techniques, mating bonds, leadership skills, and The Ten Commandments of every werewolf.
1. Do not kill a member of your pack or any other pack without acceptable reason.
2. Do not commit adultery against your chosen or fated mate.
3. Do not abandon your pack.
4. Do not create havoc or chaos among your brothers and sisters.
5. Do not have relations with your enemy; including warlocks and vampires.
6. Obey the council.
7. Respect and obey the higher ranks in the pack.
8. Do not conceal your wolf longer than one month.
9. Always serve and protect your community and pack.
10. Love one another.
Yeah those are probably way out of order but you get the idea. My father decided that our pack, among others would get as much education was we could.
I was almost to the pack houses by now. Many members are at bonfire near the back field. The guys and I usually go to clubs 3 nights after games and I don't get to join in on the fire. I wanted to tonight, I wanted to anything other than go to the club and have this meeting with my father.

I knew what it was about, I've sensed it coming for months.
I grab my duffel bag and go into the mansion sized pack house, and took the elevator to the top floor where I knew my parents would be waiting.
I grew anxious and nervous with each step. I swallowed, hard. I could hear the conversation die down between my mother and father as I approached the door and knocked.
"Come in." My father's voice said behind the wooden oak door.
My father was sitting in his large leather chair, and my mother was sitting quietly on the couch beside it. My father gestured for me to take a seat, so I dropped my duffel bag against the wall and walked over.
I gave my mother a small smile and nodded at my father respectfully.
He cleared his throat, "So son, how does it feel to be officially done with the season?"
"It feels great, to be honest Dad." I laugh a little. I am so ready to do more in the pack and have felt bad when I'm away at practice and school even though it was just fifteen minutes away.
"I figured so. I've known you've been anxious to pick up some more slack around here." He said looking at me with pride. I know my father is proud of me, although he doesn't say it because he doesn't want the cockiness get to my head.
I nodded, "Yes sir."
"I've asked you about if you have had visions yet. You've always told me no. Is it time for me to be worried yet?" Dad's eyes hold an amused, but worried look and as do my mother's.
I grow anxious again, but knew it was time to let him know about them. If I don't there's a possibility he would make me go see a doctor as stupid as that sounds.
"I have been getting visions." My mother let out a small gasp and I looked to see her mouth grow into a beaming smile.
"Have you located her?" My father asked, growing more serious at the topic.
"No sir." I look down and say apologetically.
"Have you used the program the council has provided?" He asked sternly. He would be disappointed and upset if I lied and said I had not. It was all truth from here.
"Yes. She is in the North Star Pack." Along with the visions, I have seen their pack name on a gate. The Moon Goddess doesn't want to slow the process down for future Alphas. She always gives us a hint or in my case, a straight answer.
"Why have you not requested to go retrieve her?" He asks, growing impatient at my lack of drive to find my mate. I know this would be disappointing to him and he would not had approved of my choice on the matter.
I let out a small sigh and looked down, "I'm not ready for her just yet."
My father let out a sigh of his own, a sign of annoyance. My heart seems to sink into my stomach as I think about how I have let my father down. My father is a good man and a good Alpha. I've always wanted to be exactly like him one day, but just leaving out the finding the Luna part.
"Theo, it is your duty as future Alpha to find your mate and create full leadership for this pack." My mother added in and stood up to stand by my father. She placed her hand on his shoulder, helping him relax. However, he still held a sharp stare in my direction.
"You will leave tomorrow for North Star. This is the time son, it doesn't matter if you are ready or not." This is a direct and final order. I wanted to argue. I wanted to tell him that when I feel ready, I will go. I knew I couldn't.
"When you get back, we will discuss your role in taking my place. It is urgent that you do this, because you will become Alpha in one month."
I know I had to look like a deer caught in a headlight.
A month?
