"Woah Yeonnie why are you clenching your fist so tightly? You'll hurt yourself," Kai reached over the table and removed Yeonjun's nails from the palm of his hand so the male wouldn't injure himself more.

"D-did he really say that?" Yeonjun wanted to kill him.

"I mean it's what I heard. I don't really know if it's that true or not because I don't talk to that group at all, but it very much could be true." Kai lowered his voice because of the gossip and leaned in to continue.

"And based on the way he carries himself I think it is. I mean look at him now, he's with a different guy than earlier today at lunch."

Yeonjun frowned and Kai looked at him with a quirked eyebrow and then gasped.

"Wait.." Kai was connecting dots

"Wh-"

"It was you!" He stood up and pointed at Yeonjun, drawing attention to them both. "You're the one he fucked!"

"Kai, sit down." Yeonjun whispered through gritted teeth. Soobin was looking in their direction with an unreadable look on his face.

It left Yeonjun with an unsettled feeling in the pit of his stomach.

Kai's eyes widened in realization and he sat back down, clearing his throat before looking back at Yeonjun again.

"I'm sorry."

"It's okay. He already got what he wanted."

Kai frowned while Yeonjun continued to talk.

"I mean I should have seen it coming too. Now I have to break up with his sister before the rumor gets out. Because you already know about it, and the only reason why it isn't that bad with you knowing is because you're new to this school. But it's only a matter of time before she figures it out.."

"Why did you date her?"

"Because if i didn't, they'd be able to tell that I was gay. And I don't want to be hated again. I haven't had any friends for a few years now, you're the first."

"Yeonjun.."

"I-It's going to be okay, after this I'll just go to college and I won't have to see them ever again. That p-prick! He really toyed with me.. that whole t-time I thought he l-liked me.. I-" Yeonjun realized his eyes were watering and looked up at the ceiling to stop them from falling.

His efforts were in vain when the tears trickled down his face regardless.

"Sorry Kai, now you probably see me as someone who just cries."

"No! You should have the chance to let out what you're feeling, let's go. I bet that prick being here is ruining the atmosphere for us."

The two of them stood up and packed up their things so they could leave. Kai wrapped an arm around Yeonjun's shoulder and wiped his tears with his sleeve.

"Let's go." Kai murmured. He turned around to make sure he hadn't left anything at the table and noticed that Soobin was looking at the both of themso he flipped him off while smirking at the male.

Soobin's jaw dropped at Kai's action while Kai turned around like nothing had happened with his hand around Yeonjun's waist.

"I'll walk you home Yeonjun."

"Thanks Kai. I really appreciate you being nice to me."

"Don't be thankful for me being a decent human.."

"It's just really refreshing.. " Yeonjun admitted while looking at Kai.

Kai smiled back at him and felt something arise in him.

He wanted to protect Yeonjun.

He felt like Yeonjun was a tiny bean.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Yeonjun questioned with an eyebrow quirked.

Kai laughed before pinching his cheeks and smiling at Yeonjun's perplexed expression.

"From today on we are best friends." Kai answered.

"Well.. okay!" Yeonjun smiled back his cheeks still in Kai's hands.
