《Mrs. Maximoff》Forty-eight

It was the day of the party, and after sleeping over at Wanda's again, I asked her to drive me home so that I could get ready for the night.
It was a little past seven o'clock when she dropped me off, which meant we had about three hours to get ready before we had to leave.
"I'm home!" I shouted, assuming Morgan was home for the same reason.
"Y/N! You asshole, you're finally home!" They exclaimed as they ran up to me, giving me a hug.
"Woah, what's all the affection about?" I asked.
It was strange that I still didn't get insulted by them.
"I'm just happy." They grinned as they held me closer, squeezing me probably too hard.
"It's because of the party, isn't it?"
"I can't wait to get wasted!" Morgan started jumping like a little kid, I seriously thought something serious was up.
"Of course you are." I walked into my room, starting to think about what I would wear that night.
I hadn't gone clubbing in a while, so it was difficult for me to even find something I could wear there.
I wanted it to feel like the old times again, like when we were in college and went clubbing even though we had back-to-back classes the next day.
I skipped over the pants and shirts section in my closet and went directly to the few dresses I had.
I couldn't decide between a red one and a black one, so I knew I had to call for some help.
"Morgan!" I shouted, hearing fast footsteps coming my way as soon as I did.
"Yeah?"
"Red one or the black one?" I asked as I held up both dresses for them to observe, which they seemed to do pretty hardly.
"The red one is way too short, it's fucking freezing outside." They stated.
"Beauty is pain, Stark."
"Is it, though?" Morgan said before walking out again, probably headed to their room so they could start getting ready too.
After giving both dresses a good observation, I settled on the black one, Morgan was kind of right.
I didn't really like bringing coats in this kind of situation, so I chose the black one to make sure I wouldn't freeze to death.
I went to take a shower and also washed my hair, I didn't really know how I would style it yet, but I had time to figure it out.
One of my playlists was keeping me company as always, of course.
"Y/N! I need the shower!" I heard Morgan from outside the bathroom. Scoffing, I got out, put my robe on, and took my speaker with me.

Once I was in my room I got fully dressed, when I checked the time it was almost 8:30, gladly I was just in time to do my hair and makeup, which weren't going to be out of this world since I wasn't the best at that kind of things, I just knew how to do the necessary parts.
I started with doing my makeup, it was going to be just a light layer of foundation and some concealer, a thin eyeliner in the inner corner of my eye and mascara.
Just as I was done doing that I heard the doorbell, and since Morgan was still in the shower I went to open the door.
"Y/N!" And there was Jules, all ready to go.
"Jules! I missed you!" I hugged her tight, she did the same. "You look amazing!"
"Look who's talking!" She looked at me from head to toe before walking in.
"Morgan is still showering, you can either for them or help me figure out what to do with my hair."
"Second option sounds better."
"Great, let's go." I said and guided her to my room, as if she didn't know where it was.
Jules took her time to think before speaking up: "Braids it is."
"I can't braid my hair." I stated.
"I will, I'm amazing at braiding hair."
"Do your job then!"
We started by putting some products in my hair that would protect it from the heat and then we blow-dried it.
Jules divided my hair into two big sections and started her work.
Within fifteen minutes she was done, she sprayed some hairspray to make sure the braids would stay in their place.
"They're amazing! Thank you, Jules!"
"You're welcome. Now if you'll excuse me I'll go check on my partner as we have to head out in forty minutes. Also, I saw Morgan put your gift in the living room, so go check that out!"
As soon as Jules walked out I heard my phone go off, I picked it up and saw a text message from Wanda.
I am ready to go. Are you?
Yes. Jules got here a while ago and now we're waiting for Morgan to get ready.
Are you sure you don't want me to pick you up?
It's fine, we're all with Stewart, he said he misses all of us together. I'll see you there.
Sure thing, love. Can't wait to see how beautiful you'll look tonight.
You aren't supposed to make me blush from a phone screen.
Well, I just did.
I spent time scrolling through various social media before Morgan and Jules told me they were to go and that Stewart was already waiting for us downstairs.

The last thing I had to do was put my black heels on and then off we went.
"Stew Stew!" I exclaimed as soon as I saw him and he gave me a big hug.
"How are you Y/N?"
"I'm doing great! What about you?"
"I'm doing fine, thanks for asking. Hop ij you three!"
We entered the car and almost had a heart attack as soon as we noticed we weren't alone.
"What the fuck! What are you two doing here?" I screamed.
"Surprise!" River and Ezra grinned as they made jazz hands.
"You two knew about this?" I pointed to Morgan and Jules as we sat in the car and they nodded at me.
"We wanted to surprise you! You hadn't seen them since the accident because you've spent basically every day with your girlfriend."
"Shut up, Stark!"
"So, it's official?" Ezra excitedly asked.
"...Yes, it is."
I heard everyone in the car chant in victory, making me laugh.
"Finally!" They all shouted in unison.
"Okay, okay! Can we just go to the club, please?"
"Why? You have to see your girlfriend?"
"Hell yeah."
Stewart didn't make us say it twice, he started driving to the club and put on some music he knew we would like.
The drive there wasn't as long as we thought it would be, indeed we were there in just under twenty minutes, and as soon as Stewart parked the car outside I noticed a familiar figure.
"Thank you, Stewart! Have a good night!" We all told him.
"If anything happens don't hesitate to call!"
Everyone walked into the club after greeting Wanda, who was outside waiting for us.
"You look gorgeous, Y/N." She said as she pulled me in for a kiss. She was wearing high-waisted black pants, a white top, a black jacket, and black heels just like I was.
"You don't look too bad yourself. Shall we go in?"
"We shall."
We entered the club and immediately got taken over by the loud music playing.
We spotted Morgan, Jules, River and Ezra already dancing like there was no tomorrow. Wanda and I made our way over them.
"You know guys, this is a very strange late-Christmas party." I stated as I joined their little dance circle, Wanda right after me.
"Just shut up and dance! I'll go get us all some drinks in the meantime!" River tried to speak over the music, not really succeeding, but we could still hear him.
Wanda didn't hesitate to keep me in her arms as we both danced our hearts out to every song that came on.
Eventually, after a while, we grew tired and decided to sit down and share one of the drinks River brought us.
Her hand was set on my thigh as we watched the rest of the group let it all out, Morgan had definitely drunk too much, but that wasn't stopping them from dancing, if anything it was making them have more energy than normal.
"Are you having fun?" Wanda asked me as she got closer.
"A lot. Watching this has made my entire existence."
"You know." Wanda started. "You really do look amazing. These braids suit you a lot, and that dress...don't even get me started on that."
"You like it?"
"I love it."
I couldn't respond, because as soon as I opened my mouth to do it, I heard one of my current favorite songs play.
"We have to dance to this one!" I exclaimed as I got up and took Wanda's hand to drag her to the dance floor.
A lucky, lucky girl
She got married to a boy like you
She'd kick you out if she ever, ever knew
'Bout all the - you tell me that you do
Dirty, dirty boy
You know everyone is talking on the scene
I hear them whispering 'bout the places that you've been
And how you don't know how to keep your business clean
I let the song get the best of me and I started dancing close to Wanda's body, grinding my back on her front.
Her arms quickly wrapped around my waist and guided my movements, not letting go of me for any reason.
"Don't start something you're not sure you're going to finish, love." Wanda whispered into my ear, and even though the music was loud, I could still hear her.
Mummy don't know daddy's getting hot
At the body shop, doing something unholy
He's sat back while she's dropping it, she be popping it
Yeah, she put it down slowly
Oh-ee-oh-ee-oh, he left his kids at
Ho-ee-oh-ee-ome, so he can get that
Mummy don't know daddy's getting hot
At the body shop, doing something unholy
"Who says I don't want to?" I said as I turned around and was now facing her.
Her pupils had dilated and I could see the hunger in her eyes.
My hands made their way to her shoulders, then I wrapped my arms around her neck as I kept dancing against her body.
"I suggest we go home, how does that sound?"
"Take me home, Wanda."
It didn't take her repeating a second time, we were already in her car.

The world isn't fair. If anything, the inherent injustice of the world is what separates it from the fiction we so adore. Luis Freighthold knew this all too well, and that was why it took a bit longer than it should have to realise when he suddenly had everything he could ever have wanted. Raised in a working-class single-father home, Luis had no other escape than fiction. Specifically, vampire stories of varying quality and genre. There was something appealing about the ability to fly, turn into shadows and become smoke. Danger. An unfamiliarity with the social world that rejected him so. Was it so wrong for him to hope for a different life? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, now he had it—a lust for blood and abilities beyond the understanding of civil man. Could you really say that he had anything left to complain about? A vampire story following an unconventional vampire boy forced to accept that maybe becoming a vampire doesn't magically solve all your problems. As a matter of fact, it might just make a whole bunch of them even worse. Regardless, Luis is prepared to try everything to live up to the vampire books he had previously gorged on. What did it matter that his vampire form had no teeth, replaced instead by a long, needle-tipped tongue? He was still a vampire, wasn't he?
