《Mrs. Maximoff》Forty-five

We all sat down at the table and all I could feel was the tension rising with each second.

They didn't look "scary", they just looked like they wanted to ask a lot of questions.

I sat by Wanda's side, and on my left was Natasha with her girlfriend.

I was glad they got the hint that I was nervous and sat near me, they were the only person I was most familiar with besides Wanda, of course.

"You made this?" I quietly asked Wanda after I took a bite of our first meal, from what I could see, there surely were going to be more than a few.

She just nodded and smiled, she really was a great cook.

Everyone was chatting, talking about work, how they were doing and more personal stuff.

They all seemed very close, I almost felt like an intruder, which was making me more nervous if that was even possible.

Thankfully Wanda noticed, she put one of her arms around me and started rubbing circles on my back with her fingers.

I was definitely feeling better.

I couldn't say that the looks I got from time to time weren't intimidating me, especially the ones from a blonde girl with darker highlights, she kind of scared me.

"So Y/N, we've been talking so much about all of us but haven't asked you to join, we're sorry for being so rude. Tell us about yourself." The man I recognized as Pietro, Wanda's twin brother, said.

I never was a fan of telling people stuff about myself, but I knew that they were going to be a part of my life if Wanda and I had evolved into a solid relationship, which I was really hoping for.

"Don't worry about that. Well, what would you all want to know?" I asked but didn't get a response, had I said something wrong?

"Don't panic, darling. I'm sure they will love anything about you." Wanda whispered into my ear, sending shivers all over my body.

I took a deep breath before talking, it didn't look like anyone was going to see anything soon, so I knew this had to be done.

"Anything is fine, Y/N." Natasha was kind enough to speak before I started.

"I'm Y/N Y/L/N, I'm twenty-five, I have a brother named River, he's the best. I have an English major at Columbia, I've always been into writing, so now as you probably already know I work at Oleg Resources." I started, not sure if I had anything else to add.

"You know the Stark family, right?" The brunette man sitting across from me asked, I didn't really remember his name even if Wanda introduced me to all of them.

"I do, Tony and Pepper's kid is my best friend, Morgan. We've known each other since we were little. Why do you ask?"

"Tony and I actually went to MIT together, we were in some of the same classes. Then we graduated and lost contact. I'm Bruce, by the way."

"I'll ask him about that! Maybe you two can reconnect." I said and he smiled at me.

"You're doing amazing, sweetheart." Wanda whispered again. Her voice brought me a sense of calm, I really appreciated what she was telling me.

"Y/N, would you be okay with playing with Nathaniel after dinner? He has been staring at you since you get here, that means he's too afraid to ask himself." The other brunette man asked and I remembered his name was Clint.

"Yeah, of course, I'd love to. What do you like to play with?" I asked the little boy who was sitting right next to his father.

"Trucks!" He exclaimed in the cutest voice ever.

"We also have tea parties from time to time, don't we?" The young woman I recognized as Kate said, getting an exciting nod from the boy.

Next to Kate was the blonde girl that was terrifying me, but when I looked at her she seemed to soften up.

I saw Wanda smile at me and I did the same right before diving into more questions, this time coming from Wanda's brother himself.

"So, how would you describe your relationship with my sister?"

"Pietro!" Wanda scolded him, but he didn't seem to care much about that.

"It's okay. My relationship with your sister had its ups and downs, but we were able to overcome them and put everything aside, it doesn't really matter to me now. What matters the most is that I'm sitting at this table, letting you all know who I am because I know that if I want to be with Wanda, I'll have to be with you too in some sort of way. I can see you guys are all so close, and what's important to Wanda I'd like to be important to me too." I truthfully said, and when no one spoke for a few seconds, I was scared I had messed up everything, as always.

"I like her." They all said in unison, making me laugh. It was definitely a lot of people.

"I'm glad you do, because I like her too, a lot." Wanda said and kissed my cheek, making me chuckle.

Dinner went by in a softer direction, I was now talking to everyone, even the blonde girl who told me her name was Yelena and that she was Natasha's little sister.

Scott and I bonded a lot, he told me he also had a daughter and that her name was Cassie, and from what he said I sure couldn't wait to meet her.

Steve and Bucky turned out to be really funny too, and I could definitely see they were very very close. In fact, they grew up together, and that was very clear.

I talked a lot with Bruce and his cousin Jen, they shared some traits of their personalities and so they were both very likable.

Kate and I also talked, we were just a couple of years apart and so we understood each other better on certain topics.

After dinner everyone went home, including Pietro who had booked a hotel, but I stayed a little more to give Wanda my gift.

"Woah, they just exhaust you, don't they?" Wanda let out as she closed the door once everyone was out.

"The food was amazing though, I don't know how you handled that."

"My little secrets come in handy most of the time." She wrapped her arms around my waist and kissed me softly.

I couldn't describe what I felt every time she did that, she probably knew and that was why she kept doing it.

"I have to give you something." I told her, getting out from her embrace and walking toward the couch where I had placed the bag with my gift for Wanda.

"Open it." I spoke, handing her the bag.

Wanda opened the bag and was confused when she just saw what looked like an old notebook until she opened it.

"I know how hard people were on you after you took your father's place, you know, with those rumors and everything...I thought that reminding you about the good things people said among all the bad ones could make you smile."

In the notebook were pages of articles about Wanda, all admiring the work she did for the publishing house or just her as a person (with occasionally some handwritten notes from me).

"Y/N...this is so sweet." Wanda raised her head and I could see a tear on her cheek, which I wiped away. "I really needed this. Thank you so much." She said as she leaned in to kiss me again.

"I also have something for you." She started as she backed up from the kiss. "I just put it in my pocket because I knew I would forget about it otherwise."

"You aren't proposing, are you?" I joked as she handed me the most beautiful ring I ever saw.

"Look at it this way." I did as she said and noticed there was the shape of the sun carved in.

"It matches the necklace, I thought it would look beautiful on you." She stated as I slid the ring on.

"It's beautiful, thank you, Wanda."

"You're welcome, babyclaws."

"Will you ever stop with that?"

"Never." She started. "Y/N?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you wanna stay here for the night?"
