《Mrs. Maximoff》Forty-four

Christmas had finally come, and after spending the last few days organizing the huge dinner I was going to host, I was happy to finally see it all happen.

I was so busy making sure everything was perfect that I found myself buying gifts just a couple of hours before my guests arrived, but I got them all.

The one thing I was most nervous about was Y/N meeting the rest of my friends and their families. They had been bugging me to meet her since Natasha can't shut their mouth and told them everything that happened.

I got insulted a few times, but eventually I made up for it.

Pietro also called to tell me he would be here until New Years, but he didn't know about Y/N yet.

I wasn't even worried about him listening to the conference Y/N and I went to, he was always so busy traveling that he barely had time to call us, which kind of sucked.

He couldn't even be here for our father's funeral, and both of us not being there made the press go absolutely crazy.

I couldn't wait to see him, though.

I hadn't in a couple of months and I really missed him, he also had such a good bond with my friends, so they'll enjoy having him around too.

The first ones to ring at the doorbell were Natasha and Maria, and of course they brought more food (which I specifically asked not to bring), but I guessed they loved going the opposite way of everything I said.

"Hey Wands!" They exclaimed at the same time as they walked in, both carrying bags stuffed with food.

Knowing them, it was probably all sweets.

"Hello to you too, what do you have in here?" I asked meanwhile I helped them with the bags.

"Our favorite cake, cupcakes...oh! Cookies!" Maria said as she pointed to everything they had brought, making me laugh because I was indeed right.

They put everything on the kitchen counter where I had made space, and just as we were adjusting everything, the doorbell rang again.

"Coming!" Natasha started running towards the door before I could, I swear they never actually grew up.

Soon Clint, Laura, their kids and their niece Kate walked in, they also were carrying some more food.

"Hey Wanda! How are you?" Kate asked me in her usual sweet tone, she was the sweetest young woman I had ever met.

Clint and Laura basically raised her as one of their own, unfortunately, Kate's parents got into an accident when she was just a young girl and so they took her in.

The following people to arrive were Steve and Bucky, Bruce with his cousin Jen, Scott and Hope, and obviously Natasha's little sister, Yelena.

Y/N and Pietro were the only ones missing, but they were still in time.

I told them everything would be ready by 7 and it was just 6:30.

I knew my brother like the palm of my hand, so I knew that it didn't matter what time I said, he would still be late.

I was worried about Y/N.

I needed to calm down, it wasn't like she was about to ditch me.

Y/N was coming.

She gave me her word and I know she's not the kind of person that just bails on you last minute.

I decided to let everyone in the living room and have some appetizers before diving into all the food everyone brought.

"Jen, Bruce tells me you're a lawyer?" It was the first time I was meeting Jen, but if she was anything like her cousin then I knew I was going to adore her.

"Yeah! I just got a really good position at GLK&H, so I've been adjusting there recently." She sounded so sweet, I could tell I was definitely going to build a good friendship with her.

We all caught up on everything we had missed these past few weeks, we were all so busy because of work and didn't have time to have a proper reunion.

"Scott, how's Cassie? I miss the little troublemaker!" If there was one thing that made me adore my friends even more, was their kids.

Not everyone had them, or at least not yet, but they were all such sweet kids and it was impossible not to love them.

"Her mom's got her today, I'll get her for New Year's! She was so sad when she found out she couldn't come here today, she really misses you."

"Of course she does! Auntie Wanda is the best! Right, Nathaniel?" I asked Clint's littlest boy who was sitting right across me, he started nodding excitedly.

"Hey, you're named after me!" Natasha protested, of course they would.

"We all know that Uncle Steve is actually the best! He lets you walk his dog, doesn't he?"

The little boy looked so confused and it was kind of adorable. We knew he loved us all the same and so did Lila and Cooper.

We watched the three of them grow up alongside watching Kate turn into the amazing woman she is today and we couldn't be more proud of them.

"And what about uncle Pietro?" I heard a familiar voice coming from the doorstep which immediately made me turn my head, and as soon as I did I saw my brother.

"Pietro!" I exclaimed as I ran up to him for a hug.

Soon all of our friends greeted him, and so we were ready to start our night, but Y/N still wasn't there.

It was 7 o'clock sharp and she wasn't there.

I didn't have to panic, did I?

Thinking I didn't have to just made everything worse, so I decided to pick up my phone and call her before things got out of hand.

What if she forgot? Or even worse, what if she regretted everything?

The phone rang twice before Natasha pointed for me to look at the door.

There was Y/N looking more beautiful than ever.

"I'm sorry I'm late, there was so much traffic." She calmly said.

"You aren't late, you're just in time." I started as I walked up to her and quickly kissed her forehead. "Are you ready to meet everyone?"

"Yeah, I think I am."

"Let's go then."
