《Mrs. Maximoff》Thirty-nine

I had just finished getting ready for tonight, I even called Nat for advice but she didn't answer, how dare they?

I reminded myself that I still had to give Y/N what I had forgotten to give her a couple of days ago, so I made I sure of putting the box somewhere I could notice it through the night.

To say that I was nervous was an understatement: first off, I thought Y/N wouldn't agree to this, so I had already prepared myself mentally for that, but then she agreed and I felt my heart get stuck in my throat.

I feared I was overstepping, but apparently, I wasn't so I had to make this be worth it.

I had really taken showing Y/N that I cared to my heart, and I wasn't going to give up on it any time soon, even if it meant that I would have to wait for more than I expected to.

I was starting to think that maybe it happened for a reason.

Not being able to have a relationship with anyone for my whole life and then her.

She just walks into my office and I am mesmerized by her.

The sound of the doorbell didn't let me get too lost in my thoughts, so I immediately put myself together and walked to the door.

"Hey." Y/N spoke while she was heavily breathing.

"Did you run here or something? I thought Stewart picked you up." Her face was as red as one's face can get.

"He did, but it turns out your doorstep is like a mile away from the fucking sidewalk and it started raining so I had to run." She explained whilst I let her in, gesturing for her to hand me her wet coat so I could put it to dry.

"Are you okay though? Do you need a shirt or anything? Blow-dryer?" I surely didn't want her to fall sick just a couple of days after she got discharged from the hospital.

"No, no, I'm good, thank you. I can run pretty fast if you must know."

"Are you bragging right now?" I mocked her and she scoffed at me.

That might have made my heart skip a couple of beats.

"Absolutely not, just another thing you should know about me." Y/N answered and walked right into the kitchen as if she had been there before.

I didn't mind it, I didn't mind it at all.

"Why should I know that? Are you scared I'm going to kidnap you this time?" I joked, referring to the hilarious question she asked me this morning.

"So you admit taking Stewart hostage!" She exclaimed while she pointed at me as if she had just discovered I committed a big crime.

"Yeah, yeah, sure..." I couldn't help but laugh at how adorable she was being, so I just went with it. "Shall we put something on and have the famous drink we were talking about?"

"Yep." Y/N said popping the p, following me to the living room.

I could see Y/N look around in awe and to be honest, it was kind of funny.

"This house is amazing!" She exclaimed, still looking around. She must have really liked the couch because she couldn't keep her eyes off it.

"Isn't your best friend a billionaire?"

"Well, their parents are. But anyways, I'm used to that by now." Y/N responded, still staring at the couch.

"Yes Y/N, we are sitting there." I mocked her, getting only a glare in return. "You pick something to watch while I go get us our drinks. Do you have a preference?"

"And by asking me that you're basically telling me you have multiple bottles of alcohol in your house?"

"Uhm...yeah? Is that weird?"

"No, I'm just jealous. Morgan is still somehow in their high school phase, so if they saw even one bottle of alcohol around the house, they would throw a party." Her response made me laugh, of course Morgan would do something like that.

Sometimes I forget they're Tony Stark's child.

"Just give me whatever you pick." She then said so I proceeded to make us both the same drink and poured it in the glasses.

"Here you go." I made my presence known in the room, handing her the glass.

She looked at it weirdly and then took a sip while I was sitting down.

"This burns way more than I can take! What the hell did you put in this glass?" Y/N coughed.

"Well, there's straight vodk-"

"Straight vodka?! Are you trying to poison me?" She yelled and I couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"You seriously don't like straight vodka?"

"Of course I don't. It's basically the devil's elixir." She stated, but still sipped on it.

"You know I can make you something else, right? You don't have to drink this if you don't like it."

"It's okay, I have to try something new anyways, something to spice up my life." I raised my eyebrows as she spoke, her words kind of surprised me.

"Oh, do you?" I teased her before taking a sip of my own, which to me personally tasted great.

"Yeah..." Y/N looked into my eyes, not breaking the contact for any reason.

I kept sipping on my drink hoping she would look away, but she didn't. Instead, her stare just got more intense.

"Well, you didn't put anything on for us to watch, should I do it?" I tried to change the topic and Y/N shook her head, regaining consciousness.

"Yeah, sorry, it's the vodka."

I took the remote and put on Netflix.

"What are you thinking?" I asked her as I looked through all the movies.

"Have you ever watched Hotel Transylvania?" She asked back.

"Yeah, when I babysat Katherine's kids."

"Can you put it on?" I thought she was kidding, but her firm stare was telling me otherwise.

"Sure, my little voodoo doll." She turned to me as soon as she heard my words, slapping my arm.

"Ouch! What was that for? It hurt!"

"Don't call me that ever again."

"You were the one who wanted to watch a kids movie."

"Okay, and? What's your point?"

"Nothing. You're drunk and you want to watch Hotel Transylvania. It's cute."

"Whatever."

"And you should know that Dracula would be proud of me for using one of the nicknames he made up!"

"Shut up and put on the movie."

I did as she said and readjusted myself on the couch to be more comfortable.

We sat in silence for most of the time, until halfway through the movie I started to feel eyes on me, and when I turned, Y/N kept her eyes on me.

"Y/N, are you okay?" I asked her, but I didn't get an answer, instead, I felt her come closer.

"Can I kiss you?" She bluntly asked.

I nodded and started feeling her even closer.

Before our lips could touch I knew I had to do something.

"Are you sure? Like, a hundred percent? You're not very sober right now and I wouldn't want t-"

"I am sober enough to know I want to kiss you. I am sure, Wanda."

It was happening.

My hand slid slowly into her hair while our fronts were almost pressed one on the other: I was on cloud nine.

I felt the softness of her lips take over mine, and it completely changed me.

I thought I was doing everything right with the publishing house, and with my life.

I was wrong.

This was what I needed, what was right for me.

My hands then proceeded to make their way to her cheeks, softly caressing both and feeling her smile.

I couldn't find words to describe what I was feeling, because it was out of this world.

I was waiting for this to happen, but it was like I didn't even know I was.

I was so busy making sure she knew I cared about her that my mind didn't even think of what a moment like this could have felt.

I felt her pull back and so did I, not being able to close my eyes for a few seconds due to how unbelievable this was to me.

"I have to give you something." I told her slowly opening my eyes.

I went to grab the small box and then walked back to the couch handing her it.

"I saw you had one similar to this the night of the car accident, I thought you would like it."

It was a necklace with a sun pendant.

"I saw you had one with a moon pendant that night, as soon as I noticed it I remembered walking past a jewelry store a couple of days before and that specific necklace stood out among all the others. I knew I had to get it for you." I explained while she was staring at the necklace.

"You didn't have to, Wanda." Y/N softly said, I couldn't do anything else but smile.

"I wanted to." I sat back on the couch and lovingly looked at her.

"Can you help me put it on?"

"Of course."

I did as she asked, and when she turned around she looked even more beautiful than before if that was even possible.

"It's getting late, do you want me to drive you home?" I asked her.

"Yeah, sure, thank you."

Did all of this happen or was I just imagining it?
