《Mrs. Maximoff》Thirty-seven

It was time for me to come back to work after one week of rest.
I had a checkup at the hospital yesterday and they said I was okay to go back to living my normal life, also because my work isn't crazy, I sit at a desk and write, let's be honest.
Wanda had been texting me every day, making sure I was okay and also telling me that she could give me a few more days off in case I wasn't sure about going back, but I told her I would be fine.
Mr. and Mrs. Bishop also came to visit me! They said I could blast music as much as I wanted just for these days.
Honestly, it was the best thing someone had ever told me.
So, taking advantage of that, I did my morning routine as usual and picked out an outfit for the day.
"Ew, don't wear that blazer, it looks ugly with those pants." Morgan spoke as they walked into my room.
"No, yeah, sure, just walk in whenever you want, it's not like I could have been naked."
"Oh, shut up, our moms literally changed our diapers together." They went into my closet to look for something but I couldn't quite figure out what.
"That was more than twenty years ago. Also, what do you want from my closet?" I asked but only got a scoff in return.
"Just wanted to see if you had any fun shirts, but apparently my mom is more stylish, and she's like thirty years older than you, wow."
"That's because she's Pepper-Fucking -Potts. You're such a hater." I commented and they slapped my shoulder.
"Watch your mouth."
"Watch your mouth." I mocked them as they walked out and closed the door.

Well, now I had to change my blazer.
I went for a total-black look since you can never go wrong with that, adjusted my hair into a half-up ponytail and was ready to go.
I said goodbye to Morgan and took the stairs down, ready to see Stewart after a few days in which I hadn't.
Tony and Pepper had a work trip that they couldn't cancel and Stewart went along with them, but they reassured me that they would come by as soon as possible.
Morgan told me they were worried sick when they knew about my accident, and that just reminded me why I love them so much.
They were like parents to me and they never left my side growing up, and so did my mom with Morgan. We were all a big family.
I was surprised to see a different car in front of my eyes, but it wasn't unfamiliar.
It was too familiar.
"Wanda?" I called out as she rolled the windows down and showed herself.
"Well, good morning to you too. Hop in." She didn't hesitate to say, making me smile.
"Where is Stewart? Did you kidnap him? Oh my, did you hide him in the back of your car?" I started ranting and saw her look at me as if she was already done with me, and the day hadn't even started.
She started the car and I looked over at her, she seemed happier than usual.
"What's got you so smiley this morning?"
"Nothing, I'm just in a good mood. What about you? Are you happy this morning?"
"You can't answer a question with another question."
"But I answered your question! I said I'm in a good mood. That was an answer." She said, keeping her focus on the road.

"Why don't I believe you then?" I teased her, making her attention shift to me for a few seconds.
"Is there anything specific you would like me to say?" Wanda teased me back, but I couldn't handle it as well as she did.
My cheeks turned red and that made her giggle.
"It's cute, you're flustered and all. Which is funny considering you were the one to tease first." Her gaze shifted back to the road again.
In just a couple of minutes she was parking in her spot and kindly opened the door for me.
"Wanda?"
"Yeah?"
"Aren't people going to be confused if they see us walking in together?" I asked her, because I genuinely didn't know what to think.
"I'll just give them my "mind your business or you're fired" stare. It works like a charm." She responded making me laugh.
"You're cruel, poor people." I joked and earned a glare from her.
"Well, they shouldn't fixate on who I walk in with. And besides, shouldn't it mean we get along? There has to be cooperation at work."
"Cooperation, huh? That's what you call it now?" I questioned her, acting as if I was offended.
"Shut up."
"Also, you still haven't responded to my question about Stewart. Was he in the back of the car?" I asked again.
She instead just smacked the back of my head and gestured for me to walk in.
We both greeted the receptionists and walked to the elevator, and of course, bumped into the last person we wanted to see today.
Me because I knew I had to talk to her, and Wanda because she just couldn't stand her.
"Good morning, Ari." Wanda said in her firm voice which still sent shivers through my whole body.
"Goodmorning Mrs. Maximoff, Y/N."
We were all silent until Ari and I arrived at our floor, meanwhile, Wanda was at the last.
I waved at her and she smiled at me, then I saw the elevator's door close.
We were the only ones on the floor.
Great.
I walked to my desk and didn't even have the time to sit down on the chair, because Ari was standing in front of me.
"Listen, if I was a replacement, just tell me already." She angrily started. "Did you even like me? Even the slightest little bit?"
I was left speechless for a few seconds, but her expression was telling me to answer, and answer now.
"You weren't a replacement, Ari. I thought we could be something, but then..."
"Wanda talked to you. Were you guys fighting or something?"
"Yeah, we had a fight."
"So I was a replacement. Don't bullshit me Y/N." Her voice was flat, almost scary.
"Ari, you were not. I never thought of you that way. Was it shitty of me on agreeing on going on a date with you when I clearly still liked Wanda? Yes, and I'm sorry about that. But you were Ari to me, not another Wanda." I told her the truth, because she deserved the truth.
"Yeah, whatever." She scoffed and walked away.
She didn't even give me the time to say something else.
"Y/N?" I heard a voice behind me and saw Jules. "What happened?"
Well, this was going to be weird.
