《Mrs. Maximoff》Thirty

I made my way up the second floor and gladly saw that everyone was still there.
"You!" I almost screamed, catching the attention of everyone on the floor.
They were all confused until I walked up in front of Ari.
"You were driving the car, weren't you?" I asked her, from the look in her eyes, I could tell she was terrified.
"I was." She tried to keep her voice still, but she was about to break.
I normally wouldn't act like this, but I couldn't stop myself from doing it.
"How did it happen?" I asked her calmly, or at least as calmly as I could be.
"I just put some music on, we were singing out loud...there was no one on the road. Until Y/N warned me, but it was too late."
I couldn't believe a thing she was saying.
How could someone be so reckless?
"So let me get this straight...you thought it was okay to feel like you were at a concert just because no one was on the road?"
"I couldn't have kn-"
"But you should have! Isn't that the first thing they tell you at a driving lesson? To always pay attention to the road and nothing else?"
Was I exaggerating? Probably, but it could've cost Y/N's life.
"I'm sorry..." Ari's voice could barely be heard by the others but me.
"You are never going to do something like this again, got it? Thank whoever keeps me from snapping at you right now, otherwise, this would've gone much worse." I started to walk away.
"Sorry, but why are you even here?"
Cockiness. Something I didn't enjoy in people.
"You are our boss, what's your correlation to this?" She talked again with that same tone.

I slowly walked back to her, looking straight into her eyes.
"That's none of your business, Ari." I started. "But if I told you, you probably wouldn't like it."
Before she could reply we heard another voice, it was the nurse.
"She's awake."
She's awake. She's okay. She's still here.
"Can we go in?" The older man out of the three asked.
"If she wants to then there is no problem." She kindly responded before exiting the room.
"River, Ezra, you go first." Jules stated, getting a thank you from the two adults.
"Morgan, who are they? Are they family?" I asked and they nodded.
"The one with clear eyes is Y/N's brother, they're with his boyfriend, Ezra. Meanwhile he," they started, "is Stewart. He is my family's driver, also Y/N's since she's basically my sister." I nodded in understanding and took a seat now that some of them were empty.
"I'm gonna go get some fresh air." Ari said and left to go outside.
"You three want anything? There is a cafè right down the road, I can get you all something." Stewart kindly asked, but we all declined his offer. "Well, if you happen to change your mind you have my phone number."
"We know you're going to get us something anyway!" Morgan joked.
"You never know!"
As soon as he left I felt both Morgan and Jules come closer to me, sitting one to my left and the other to my right.
"So, are you going to tell her?" They said in unison.
There it went.
I thought about it for a bit: did I?
All the pain she could go through because of me, did I want her to feel that? Fuck no.

But did I want to tell her the truth? To tell her about everything that I didn't have the guts to do before this happened and that I feel like such a coward for waiting for something like this to happen instead of being honest with her from the start.
I wanted to tell her everything, but I didn't want her to think the worst of me.
"I want to, but I don't think she would believe me. I was so angry at her when she did nothing to me, I was angry because even after what happened at the conference she was still there. I was angry because that's how I feel when I know someone I love is going to end up getting hurt. She saw me talking shit about those people and didn't run away, I had to push her." I explained.
I wasn't expecting to get real with anyone that wasn't Natasha anytime soon, but it just happened.
And it was okay.
It was okay.
Jules and Morgan are both very close to Y/N and they just want the best for her.
"You think pushing people away is going to spare them the pain, don't you?" Jules asked me, I nodded in response.
"But have you ever thought it can only make things worse sometimes? If they already started caring about you, it will destroy them. You were too late, Wanda. When you pushed her away, Y/N had already talked to us about you, we had already seen what effect you had on her." She continued.
"I...I don't want her to get hurt. That's all. I care about her so much, I knew that I would the second she walked into my office."
"Then show her. Show her how much you care." Morgan said.
"What if I do and then it doesn't work out?"
"What if you didn't and it didn't have a chance to work? At least you tried. That's okay." Morgan continued before I could cut them off. "And don't say you don't want to hurt her, Y/N's a big girl, she knows what's best for her, and if she realizes she made a mistake she will get through it. Talk to her."
I hesitated before responding, I knew I had to stick with what I said.
"I will, you're right. I at least have to try."
"Yes!" They both screamed in unison.
"I think this is the first time I've agreed with someone that isn't Natasha." I whispered, but the look on their faces made me realize they heard me.
"Who's Natasha?"
"My best friend. She'd love you if I told them you convinced me to finally talk to her."
"We need to meet her!"
Our conversation was interrupted by River and Ezra exiting Y/N's room, gesturing for us to go in.
"You two go, I wanna let her relax before I talk to her."
They nodded at me and went in. The wait was killing me, but I knew it was the right thing. Plus, it gave me time to form some sort of speech so that I wouldn't stumble upon my own words and look stupid.
It was actually happening. I was going to talk to her.
