It was a Monday, three days after Jake had kissed Isaac in the middle of school in front of people. Three days since Isaac had realised, he was kind of in love with Jake. Isaac was still trying wrap his head around it, he had never been in love before. It was strange and new, and Isaac wasn't as scared as he thought he'd be. Despite the rough beginnings of Isaac and Jake's relationship, Isaac was confident that the two of them would be fine. Jake had proved his loyalty to Isaac time and time again, and Isaac knew that he wanted Jake to be his boyfriend, for real.

Isaac didn't know what to expect when he walked into school on the Monday morning. Even though Jake had kissed him after school, there were definitely people around and teenagers talked. He knew there would be some gossip about it. It would be strange if there wasn't any whispering. Jake was on the football and rugby team and Isaac, was well Isaac. As far as anyone else was concerned Jake was also straight, it was practically illegal for jocks to be anything other than straight. Jake kissing Isaac was definitely not straight.

Isaac wasn't shy when it came to people staring and whispering about him. When he was eleven years old, two weeks into year seven, he beat the shit out of Parry Finstock, a year ten who talked too much shit. That was enough to get people talking about him. Ever since then, a black eye, a split lip, everyone whispered. This was different though, they weren't whispering about him and his actions, they were whispering about Jake. No one cared about Isaac, they were all focused on Jake, the golden boy of White Water High School. Jake who hadn't come out yet.

He wanted to run to Jake, he wanted to make sure he was ok. That no one was giving him grief, he would hit anyone was tried anything. It was hard coming out anytime, but for some reason jocks had it harder. It was crazy apparently for jocks to like dick, it baffled Isaac to no end. Isaac was trying his hardest not to glare at anyone, whilst trying not to go looking for Jake frantically. If this went badly Jake would be alone and it would be all Isaac's fault. He just hoped that Jake was ok.

Isaac was so wrapped up in his thoughts he didn't even notice that Kaya and Benji were standing in front of him, laughing like nothing had happened. Isaac stopped, shocked, when had that happened? The two of them were laughing so hard about something they hadn't even noticed him. Isaac was very confused, everything about Jake flew from his head to focus on the scene in front of him. Isaac didn't know what to do, but he didn't need too, Kaya caught sight of him over Benji's shoulder. She hit Benji's shoulder pointing at Isaac, a wide grin on her face that unsettled Isaac.

"When did you two make up?" Isaac asked, crossing his arms across his chest. This morning had been a whirlwind. Isaac was in serious need of a lie down.

Kaya giggled, as Benji turned to face Isaac, "Bro, have you heard you and Jake are gay for each other."

So, Benji was high.

Kaya giggled again, a hand going to cover her mouth. Isaac rolled his eyes at the both of them, "Yeah dude. So gay. You and Kaya?"

"We talked, we're good. Dude, Kaya's gay too, now." Benji mumbled, his eyes widening as he got more excited with what he was saying. Isaac's head snapped to Kaya who was blushing bright red. Isaac raised his eyebrows in surprise, Kaya giving him a weak smile.

"Me and Gabby, we're dating. It's nice." Kaya told him, shrugging her shoulders like it was no big deal. When in fact, it was a huge deal. Since when were they lesbians? Being the token gay of the group was Isaac's thing and he didn't like that Gabby and Kaya were suddenly stepping in on that.

Benji wasn't even paying attention anymore, looking over Isaac's shoulder focused on something else, "Since when have you two, you know been on the lady side of the spectrum?" Kaya shifted uncomfortably, Isaac understood telling your friend's that you're not straight is difficult, he was going to put her out of her misery, "You don't have to explain. Don't worry about it. You happy?"

"Yeah, I'm really happy." Kaya beamed, blushing bright red, it made Isaac feel good. All he wanted was his friends to be happy. "I think it's about to kick off."

Before Isaac even had time to ask what she was talking about someone was shouting his name loudly down the hall, pushing him hard, sending him flying into Kaya. Kaya stumbled backwards, Isaac had to grab hold of her, so she didn't fall to the floor. Benji stepped forward holding Kaya, as Isaac turned to face who had pushed him.

Three guesses who.

Julian the meathead jock was standing there in all his rage and glory. Isaac couldn't help but roll his eyes at the idiot. Of course, this twat, would have a problem with everything going on. Isaac would have happily hit Julian just for the fun of it, but he had almost hurt Kaya and that pissed off Isaac.

"You couldn't keep your faggot hands to yourself. Could you?" Julian yelled, throwing a punch at Isaac, who ducked it and threw a punch straight back, hitting Julian in the stomach. Hard enough that Julian doubled over in pain. Isaac grabbed the back of Julian's head and brought it down, so it collided with his knee. Julian screamed out in pain and Isaac couldn't help the smug smile that spread across his face.

Julian fell to the floor clutching his bleeding face, Isaac leaned down grabbing Julian's hair, "Looks like this faggot just kicked your arse."

Benji let out a loud cackle next to Isaac, his foot coming down to land on Julian's balls, "Made a fucking mistake you homophobic twat."

Julian groaned out in pain. Satisfaction swelled through Isaac's body, it never felt better to see a giant dickhead on the floor. It made Isaac feel even better knowing that Benji was defending his honour as well. It's an important unspoken rule between Isaac and his friends, you fuck with one of them you fuck with all of them and that is a mistake. Sure, they had hiccups all friends did, but they always had each other's backs.

Laughing together, the three friends walked down the hall together as other people stared in shock. Isaac couldn't help, but stand up straighter, it was satisfying knowing that everyone knew. It was going to get complicated, Isaac knew that, he wasn't sure how Jake was at the moment. He was concerned, he wanted to know Jake was ok, now everyone at school knew about them, about him. Isaac had told him, they would go at his pace and he wasn't sure if Jake was even ready to come out. Isaac was worried about what was going to happen now with the two of them.

Those thoughts were quickly pushed away when the three of them turn the corner only to come face to face with Jake and Elliot. Isaac couldn't help the grin that spread across his face. Jake caught sight of Isaac and he too grinned over at him. Before Isaac could even ask what Jake thought about everything going on. Jake was cupping his face, leaning down and pressing a kiss to Isaac's mouth. Isaac smiled into the kiss, Jake was proving to everyone that he was with Isaac, that he wanted Isaac. He couldn't help but deepen the kiss, pulling Jake even closer to him. Isaac couldn't help it, he was obsessed with Jake.

"I love school, the only place you can get free porn live in action."

And just like that Elliot had ruined everything. Isaac pulled away from Jake, flipping Elliot off as Jake hit him on the shoulder, "Dude, can you not?"

"As much as I hate to agree with Elliot he is right. That was definitely not PG." Kaya winced, as if the thought of agreeing with Elliot was in fact disgusting. Which it was and the ultimate act of best friend betrayal.

Jake tried to defend them, but Elliot, Kaya and Benji all ganged up on them. To the strange bizarre thought, Isaac was actually happy despite everything. The happiest he had felt in a long time.
