《Percy Jackson X Reader》Chapter 13

"Y/N!" Percy reached for you, but he was too late. Thankfully the grappling hook worked and you were able to swing yourself around the scaffolding and land behind Percy.
"Yes! Helena! Test 15 has been successfully completed and Prototype 18 is a go!"
"Y/n!" You looked down at Nico, he was frowning. "Don't scare Percy like that!"
"What do you-" You were cut off by a hug from Percy.
"Don't do that again, I thought- I thought-"
"Hey, it's ok." you pulled away from the hug quickly. "I'm fine, don't you trust me?" You raised an eyebrow and started getting down from the scaffolding. When you got down, Nico punched you in the shoulder.
"No scaring people."
"You do it."
"I'm a son of Hades."
"Touché."
"You need to figure out whatever is going on between you and Percy."
"Why? Tell me why, Nico, because I don't know why I should! He doesn't believe me about Annabeth and gets mad when I try to tell him!" You heard Percy getting down from the scaffolding, but you didn't care. "Hey, Nico, just take Percy and go stop Gramps."
"Fine, but I'm going to help you two figure this out."
"Whatever." You muttered and turned around, going back under the car. "Good luck."
*time skip*
You were bringing a new batch of magical weapons to the main camp. Reynard joined you once you made it out of the forest. He helped with the weapons. As you got closer to the Big House, you heard the clopping of hooves. "Y/n, Reynard, glad you two are here. The battle against Kronos' army will be beginning shortly."
"Thanks!" You dropped the weapons and started to get ready for battle. Before you parted ways with Reynard, the two of you hugged tightly. "Hey, thanks for everything."
"No prob, Y/n. See you at the end of the battle."
*time skip*
You were exhausted, you had been fighting monster after monster, demigod after demigod. You lost count of how many monsters you had burned. Somehow, you had made it to the bridge and saw Percy off to one side. After finishing off a monster, you had a feeling that something bad was going to happen.
Time seemed to slow down.
Percy's back was turned and you saw an arrow flying towards his back. You jumped towards him, wrapping your arms around his waist, and felt the arrow slam into your side.
The pain was immediate.
The two of you rolled to the ground and you rolled off of him. You laid on the ground, feeling like fire was spreading throughout your body. Faintly, you heard Percy yelling your name; but everything soon faded away into black.

Pain.
Immeasurable pain.
One moment, your veins felt on fire and then the other they felt like they were freezing up.
Suddenly, you felt a wave of numbness spread through your aching body. The pain dimmed enough for you to open your eyes. You were met with blinding light and had to slowly blink before your eyes adjusted. You groaned as the pain in your head subsided enough for your vision to clear.
"Chiron, she's up!" You heard the clop of hooves and saw Chiron come into view, but so did Percy.
"My child, how are you feeling?" You coughed, unable to form words. Your throat was too dry. "Percy, get her some water!" Percy left your view and then came back with a glass of water. He helped you drink the water.
"I feel numb now; but earlier, I felt hot and cold at the same time." You coughed again. Percy helped you sit up so that you could cough better.
"Hm...the arrow...poison..." Chiron walked off, muttering to himself. Percy gave you some more water and you were able to drink it alone this time.
Percy sat down next to you. "Why did you take the arrow for me?"
You glanced to the side, taking another sip of water. "I just had this feeling that I had to, otherwise something bad would happen."
Percy opened his mouth to say something, but Annabeth ran over and hugged Percy around his shoulders. "PERCY, I'm sooooo glad that you're ok- why is she here?" You shrunk away from her gaze; but noticed that she was clean, not cuts or dirt from fighting. What was she doing during the whole battle?
Percy gingerly removed Annabeth's arms from around his shoulders. "Y/n took a poisoned arrow for me." Annabeth looked at you.
"Oh you poor dear," She crooned, leaning in right near your face. "Pity it didn't kill you." Annabeth was so quiet that Percy didn't hear, but you heard every word. Annabeth pulled away with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.
"Y/N, Y/N!" Nico ran over to you.
"Nico!" He grabbed your hand.
"I- I felt that your soul was about to leave your body and- and I couldn't bear to lose another sister!" You hugged him.
"Nico, I'm fine. Look, I'm not dead yet!" Nico turned to Percy.
"How did she get injured?"
Percy looked down. "She took a poisoned arrow for me that was going towards my back."
Nico turned to you. "Moved on, eh?"

Your face burned. "I never said fully." Percy looked between the two of you, utterly confused.
Nico leaned towards your ear. "He is quite dense." With a small smirk, he walked off. Chiron came back, with Reynard following. Chiron was carrying a bottle full of some concoction. Reynard rushed over and Annabeth was attempting to discreetly pull Percy away.
"Y/n, are you ok? I heard about the arrow!"
"Rey, I'm fine." He crossed his arms.
"Yeah, right. First, you hardly eat and sleep, and now a poisoned arrow. You and I are going to have a talk about self-preservation after this war, missy." Reynard looked at you sternly before coming in for a hug. You gasped as his hand brushed your side, but you hugged him back. Once Reynard pulled back, Percy broke free of Annabeth and walked over.
"Reynard, what do you mean that she has been hardly eating and sleeping?" You glared at Reynard, your face burning. You had been trying to keep your lack of sleep and eating under wraps. Annabeth was giving you so much anxiety that you hardly had an appetite and that your demigod nightmares were a whole lot worse, making it hard to get a good night's sleep.
"Percy, it's nothing. Just some anxiety, that's all." He narrowed his eyes. "Listen, I'm tired, so I'm just going to get some sleep." You laid back down and curled into yourself, ignoring the throbbing pain in your side. You heard footsteps and then you felt someone push your wound. You gasped from the pain and your eyes shot open. Annabeth leaned down, pushing harder into your side. You held back a whimper.
"Stay. Away. From. Percy." She pushed into your wound one more time and then left. You sat there, gasping from pain. Finally, you closed your eyes and tried to sleep.
*time skip*
You woke up to see Percy sitting next to you. You sat up, the wound was still there but not hurting too much anymore. "What are you doing here?"
"I need your help. I need to go to Mt. Olympus and you're a great fighter. I came here to see how you were doing and if you were up to come and fight." He looked down.
You stood up and stretched, wincing. You looked at Percy. "I'm ok, I can help." He gave you a small smile and you finally met his eyes.
*time skip*
You were going up the elevator with Percy when something started to make sense. "Hey, Percy? Something is up with Annabeth. She wasn't cut, bruised, or dirty like you would be after fighting. She looked as if she was staying away from the battle instead of fighting in it."
Percy's face hardened. "What are you implying?"
"I-" The elevator dinged and Percy stormed out. You followed, just as mad. The two of you made it to the throne room.
*time skip*
Luke had pushed you to the side when he had slight control over his body, telling you to stay out of it; but Kronos soon took back over. Annabeth had appeared and started to fight you.
"Really, L/n, you think that you can beat me? I have been training longer than you. I will win this fight and Percy's heart. After that, I will destroy him as Luke, me, and Kronos have always planned."
"I don't need to beat you, just stall until Percy beats Kronos." You ducked under her knife and jabbed your elbow into her back. She fell to the ground and you stepped back. Annabeth lunged at you. You crossed your arms and caught her wrist between hers. Your swords dropped from your hands and clattered to the ground. You struggled to keep Annabeth's dagger from stabbing you in your chest. Your back was against a column, your wound burning, and your arms aching.
Suddenly, you remembered your fire.
"AARRGGHH!" Annabeth fell back, her arms blistering. Her dagger slid near Percy's feet. He was standing above Luke, who was on the ground, his eyes no longer golden. You ran to Percy's side, looking down at Luke. He seemed different from the boy who had annoyed you for a long while.
Luke looked at the dagger. "Percy, the cursed blade." You looked at Percy as his eyes widened. He picked up the dagger and handed it to Luke. Luke looked you in the eye as he took his armour off. "Hey, Y/n, I'm sorry for being so obsessed with you." He held his dagger to his left armpit. "I never told you, but you have beautiful eyes." With that, he stabbed himself under the arm. He started to burn, you averted your eyes, fighting tears.
Finally, the light stopped, leaving a burned corpse. You choked back a sob, collapsing to your knees. Percy knelt next to you. "We will need to get a shroud for Luke, Son of Hermes." He turned to you. "You ok?"
"I just wish that I had been able to get to know Luke before he was corrupted by Kronos."

The Way Ahead
What do you do when you don't fit in? Edwin never really felt many connections to other people, but as a physics student, that was fine. He didn't really need it, anyway. He was content to peel back the mysteries of the universe... not that there were many left to find. Modern-day research was just too well-established, too well-trodden for any single enthusiast to make any significant headway. But that doesn't apply to other worlds. Not ones where magic and Skills run rampant, where well-defined roles and Classes dominate much of society with little room for novel experimentation from its residents. That kind of world would be perfect for an overeager, newly-minted Alchemist to make his mark. Things are never that easy, though. The Way Ahead is a very slice-of-life story following the story of someone trying to find his place in a world that doesn't know what to do with him. Expect lots of science, lots of alchemy, a few sarcastic quips by the System, and lots of exploration involving the world, self-discovery, and above all, science. After all, further research is always required. Updates every other day at 9 AM PST. Congratulations! For writing a story during the month of November, you have unlocked the Royal Road Writathon Participant path!
