《Percy Jackson X Reader》Chapter 12

You turned to see Luke walking towards you. He darted forward and grabbed your wrists, manhandling you against him. You gritted your teeth as he leaned forward. "You're now mine."
You struggled but held yourself back. Just then, an empousa along with a ghost and Nico charged in.
"My lord." The empousa bowed. You locked eyes with Nico and nodded. The ghost floated forward and explained that he, Minos, had traded Nico for a price. Nico dispelled Minos and darted to your side as you broke out of Luke's grip and elbowed him in the head. He stumbled back as Daedalus nodded at you and started to destroy all the monsters. You pushed Nico towards the wings.
"The wings, go." You got Amethyst and opened the window. Amethyst flew off, following Nico. You strapped Rachel into a pair of wings and tossed a pair to Annabeth and the two girls flew off. There was only one pair of wings left. "Percy, take the wings. You, you have to go. You are a part of this quest, I'm not." He strapped on the wings and then grabbed you around the waist and jumped out the window, the wings spread and the two of you glided after the rest of the group as the workshop exploded behind you. You sucked in a breath. You hoped everything was working properly.
Rachel pointed to the tunnel with green lines just before you did. Once the five of you had landed, everyone took their wings off. You heard a moan and you rushed into the tunnel to see Tyson leaning over a passed-out Grover. All of a sudden, Grover sat straight up.
"We're close!" He darted off and you raced after him with the rest of the group following, Amethyst following close behind. You then passed into a cave filled with nature at its greatest. Tears came to your eyes at the beauty.
"It's beautiful." Your voice came out as a whisper.
"Thank you Y/N. I'm glad you like it, it is one of the last wild places." You turned towards the voice and saw an old satyr with huge, curly horns.
"Pan, my lord. You must come back with me, the elders will be overjoyed. You can save the wild!" Grover said as he knelt.
"I have slept for many eons. My dreams have been getting darker and darker. Every time I wake fitfully, I can feel my time shortening. Gods, gods can't die; but they can fade when everything that they stood for has been destroyed or just gone. The wild is so small now, no god can save it. This is why I need you to carry a message that the great god Pan is dead. They must stop waiting for me to save the wild because the only salvation is the one they must make themself. You must be strong, you have found me and now you must carry my spirit. It can no longer be carried by a god, it must be taken up by all of you. Satyrs, half-bloods, humans, everyone. As my final words, I leave this to all of you: Percy Jackson, I know you have doubts. Yet, when the time comes, fear will not rule you. Annabeth, daughter of wisdom. You must figure out who you are. Stop scheming and start living. Tyson, do not despair for your name shall live forever as a hero among the cyclopes for generations to come. Miss Rachel Dare. I know you believe you cannot make amends, but you are just as important as your father. And Y/N L/N, your past does not define you and you can overcome it, but you will need help from the one person you are destined to be with, whom you have already met." You drew in a sharp breath.

"Grover, you are the strongest and bravest. You have believed in me more than anyone ever has. That is why you must bring my message and why you must release me."
Grover had tears in his eyes. "I- I don't want to.
Pan placed a hand on Grover's shoulder. "It will be alright, the spirit of the wild must pass to all of you now. Now, you must tell each one you meet: You must take up the spirit of Pan. Remake the wild, a little at a time, each in your own corners of the world. You cannot wait for anyone, even a god, to do that for you."
Grover closed his eyes with tears running down his face. "I've spent my whole life looking for you, now I release you." Pan dissolved into smoke that smelt of earth and flowers and growth. Pan's pipes dropped down and Grover picked them up.
"Come on Grover," Percy said, and then walked out with the rest of the group. You walked over to Grover and put a hand on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry, you did a great job. You found him and released him, giving him what he wanted."
*time skip*
The six of you climbed out of a manhole cover. "Thanks, Rachel. We couldn't have done this without you. Sorry, you can't come to camp."
"It was definitely a unique experience." Rachel hugged you and then wrote a phone number on your hand. "Call me, maybe we can hang out."
You smiled. "That sounds good," Percy called some pegasus over and you all flew to camp where the battle was already underway.
*Time skip*
You sighed, flopping down by the lake. You had taken your shoes and socks off and were letting the cool water soothe your feet. You closed your eyes and just rested for the first time in a while. You'd been on your guard while in the Labyrinth and during the battle, but now you could relax. You tilted your head back, drinking in the rays of the sun.
"May I join you?" You looked over to see Percy standing there.
You blushed and tilted your head back down so that your hair covered your face. "Yeah, go ahead." He sat down next to you.
"I'm sorry for getting mad at you, it's just that everyone tells me that Annabeth is mean but she just seems really sweet. Oh, yeah, my mom wants me to let you know that our house is open if you ever need a place to stay."
"Thanks for the offer, but I think I should stay here and help with the war effort." You looked out at the horizon because if you looked Percy in the eyes, you wouldn't be able to hide the fact that you didn't want to spend more time with him due to Annabeth. "I'll be fine here, though."
*Time skip*
You were working in Bunker 5 again, making as many magic items as you could to forget about Percy. Insufferable, annoying, lovable Percy Jackson.

"Ouch!" You stubbed your toe and you sat down, crying. Annabeth was crueller to you now more than ever that Percy was not at camp and no one could stop her. You spent all of your time in Bunker 5, only coming out to go to the lake or to give your finished items to Chiron. You wiped your eyes and got up. You needed to put thoughts about Percy out of your head, he could not distract you. You just had to work harder. You just had to work harder.
"Y/N, I want to know your opinion on something." You jumped, Nico was right behind you. You turned and hugged him and he returned the hug.
"What's up, Nico?"
"I have an idea to help Percy beat Kronos..."
*time skip*
You hardly ever left Bunker 5 these days, Annabeth just made your life miserable if you were around camp. You heard a knock on one of the wooden shelves behind you.
"Who is it?" You didn't lift your gaze from the cloaking device you were working on.
"It's me, Nico, with Percy." You lifted a hand.
"Nico, you know what to do if you're hungry or thirsty. Just give me a minute to finish up here."
"Got it! Come on, Percy." You finished the last tweaks to the cloaking device and then went and hugged Nico.
Pulling back, you looked at the boy. "So, is it time?"
"Yeah, you finished everything?"
"Of course."
"What are you two talking about?" You finally turned and faced Percy for the first time in months. "Nico will explain, but you two follow me."
Nico started explaining about Luke while the two boys followed you to some of the shelves. You moved a ladder over and grabbed a box from the top shelf. Nico had finished, so you turned to the two boys.
Pulling out two bracelets, you handed one to Nico and the other to Percy. "These bracelets have a couple of uses. One, you can set a perimeter for monsters and certain people," You grimaced and Nico looked at you knowingly. "So that you have a warning. The other is that the three of us can always contact each other if we are in need." You held up your wrist, where a matching bracelet was. "You just think of a thought you want to send to a person. I can think of one of you or both of you, depending on the situation. In times of great need, it can also teleport you to a person's side."
"Thanks, Y/n." Nico gave you a small smile. You still hadn't met Percy's eyes. "Um, I'm going to go and eat some more so that I have the energy to shadow travel." Nico walked off, ignoring the panicked thoughts you were sending his way.
You walked back to the table and continued to fiddle with the cloaking device. "Y/n?" You froze for a second but then continued to mess with the device.
"Yes?" You still didn't meet his eyes.
"Why are you ignoring me?"
"I-I'm not!" You went over the old car you were restoring and reinforcing with celestial bronze. You slid under the car and started to tinker with the undercarriage. Percy pulled you by your legs back out. Glaring, you pulled yourself back under and he pulled you out again. "What do you want from me, Jackson?"
"Jackson? Are we not on a first-name basis anymore?" You bit your lip and turned away, opening the hood of the car. Percy turned you back around. "Y/n, talk to me. Please?" You didn't meet his eyes again. "What did I do?"
"It's not your fault."
"Then why are you ignoring me?"
You looked at your shoes. "Because I'm scared." You whispered.
"Of what?"
You turned back to the engine and started talking before he could turn you around again. "Of people, Annabeth, the war, Luke. It's just, a lot has been going on and... it's stressful."
Percy sighs. "Why do you hate Annabeth so much?"
You spun around, clenching your fists to try and quench the fire brimming up in you. "Do you know what she's done to me every chance she gets? She hates me! I've been trying to get over all that my mom and stepfather did, but she's not helping one bit. Do you know how hard it is to try and trust people again when someone keeps pushing you back? Every step I take, she pushes me back three. I will never be able to get better as long as she continues her little 'talks'!" You felt the tears roll down your cheeks and you stormed off.
You heard Percy following but ignored him. You climbed up to the scaffolding in the ceiling to test out some of the gadgets you had been making for the war effort. "Helena, set up the net!" Helena set up the net as you held your gadget up to the light. It was a small disk that turned into a grappling harness.
"Y/n!" You turned to see Percy on the scaffolding, he looked angry. " I think you're just jealous that she spends more time with me!"
You started laughing. "Where did you hear that from? That's not true, I'm staying away from you because I'm scared of what she'll do if I don't." And with that, you stepped off the scaffolding.

For the game was not over, and it was still his to lose.
