《Percy Jackson X Reader》Chapter 7

The group walked back and finally, Percy walked up to you.
"So you and Reynard?" He looked at you with an expression that you couldn't read.
"Ew, no. He's like a brother to me."
"You ok?"
"Yeah, I'm fine"
That night you just had to get away. Percy and Annabeth were together at the campfire. It hurt so much. Annabeth was cruel and Percy would never believe you until it was too late.
You walked to the woods and just started wandering around. You didn't go too far and you had your fire so you weren't totally lost.
You lost track of time and your direction, but you found yourself in front of a small stone cliff. There was what looked like the slight indentation of a hand print. Putting your hand in it, it felt warm. You lit up the hand that was in the print to see if there was anything inscribed around the imprint that could explain anything. Immediately, the fire spread up about 10 feet and across about the same length. A door opened.
"Whoa." You breathed as you stepped through the doorway. The room extended up about 30 feet and a little less than a soccer field across. Shelves full of mechanics and celestial bronze were all around against the walls. There was also a second-level loft that wrapped around the building with shelves packed with books. There were comfy chairs on the second level with reading lamps. Worktables and tool cabinets were spread throughout the first floor.
"Hello, welcome to Bunker 5. I am Helena. How may I help you?" A metal lady walked over to you.
"Oh, um, ok. Do you have any books on the Labyrinth? And empty notebooks along with writing supplies?"
"Yes we do, give me just a minute." While waiting for Helena to get the books and notebooks, you looked around the first level. In one corner was a small kitchen with a small fridge, cupboards, and a small stove. "Think of any food or drink, non-alcoholic, and the cupboards and fridge will have them," Helena called from one of the tables. She had a huge stack of books. On the table was a quill and an inkpot, you opened the fridge and thought about a big glass of water. Right there in the fridge was a tall glass of ice water. Grabbing the glass, you went to the table and sat down.

"Helena, is there a way to play music?"
"Yes, there is, just say the name of a song."
"Ok, 'Mean' by Taylor Swift" As the music rang through Bunker 5, you opened the first book, opened the notebook, got the quill ready, and started to read.
*time skip*
You yawned and stretched. You had been resting on your arms on the table, so you must have fallen asleep sometime through the night. You flipped through the notebook, pages and pages of cramped writing that had taken most of the night. You had a good chunk of pages left for you to write any observations once you were actually in the maze.
Just to be sure, though, you had been recording everything on your glasses which meant that any information that might have slipped you last night, you still had. This also meant that if you lost the notebook, you would still have your information.
"Helena, what time is it?"
"Just past sunrise."
"Might as well go back to my cabin, see you later. Thank you for everything, Helena."
With that said, you stepped out into the dim morning light. You headed back to your cabin and crashed onto your bunk.
"Y/N, get up." You sat up to see Beckendorf moving onto the next person still sleeping. Yawning, you grabbed a fresh set of clothes and headed to the bathroom to change. Strapping on your belt pouch that now held the notebook and adjusting your glasses, you stepped back into the main part of the cabin. You braided your hair and waited for breakfast to begin.
*time skip*
After breakfast you ran to the big house, hoping to catch Chiron. You burst through the door.
"Chiron, I need to take a quest into the-" you trailed off when you saw Annabeth standing there with Percy right behind her. "Labyrinth." You finished weakly.

"I'm sorry, child, but Annabeth has already gotten the prophecy."
"Then please let me go." You turned to Annabeth. "Please, Annabeth, please let me go with you."
"Sorry, but I have already chosen my companions." She didn't sound sorry at all, but no one else seemed to notice. You gritted your teeth.
"Fine, I won't go with you on your quest." Spinning around, you left the Big House. You heard the door open behind you, but you continued walking.
"Y/N, Y/N!"
"What?"
Percy caught up with you and started to walk with you. "Maybe it's for the best, this quest is likely to be dangerous and-"
"You think that I can't bloody take care of myself." You interrupted dryly. "In case you haven't noticed, Annabeth is not as nice as she seems. She's cruel and-"
"How can you say that about her?"
You stopped. "Sorry, who am I kidding? You've quested with her and known her for a couple of years. So why would you believe me, someone, you met just less than a year ago?" You chuckled darkly. "I don't know why I even tried." You turned and walked towards the woods, ignoring the tear that traced a path down your cheek. He couldn't bloody see how cruel Annabeth was, and how much you cared for him.
"Y/N, what's going on?" You relaxed at Reynard's voice.
"Annabeth's leading a quest through the Labyrinth and I have to go, but she won't let me come." You looked up to see the small cliff you had found last night. You smiled softly and turned to Reynard. "Rey, you have to promise not to tell anyone. Ok?"
"Sure, but not tell anyone what-" You put your flaming hand in the imprint and the door opened. His mouth opened wide in shock.
"You might want to close your mouth before the flies get in." You teased as he sheepishly shut his mouth. "Welcome to Bunker 5. Helena, do you have any magic items for travel?"
"Yes I do, Y/N. I put them out on the table. I also put away all the books you used last night."
"Thank you, Helena." You turned to Reynard. "I found this place last night and researched every book in here on the Labyrinth because I have to go in and find Daedalus's workshop before Luke does."
You walked to the table as Helena started to explain what each magic item did. You turned down most of them, but you decided to use the food sack that was like the kitchen but as a small sack. As you pulled on your jacket that you had left on your chair last night, Reynard spoke.
"Let me come too." You squeezed your eyes shut.
"Thank you, Rey, but I have to face Luke alone and anyway, I'm not supposed to do this. I'm just doing what I do best, breaking the rules." You laughed wryly. "I'd rather you stay here and help with battle preparations because a battle will happen either way. Luke knows about the maze, he told me so himself. Please?"
"Fine, but stay safe." You ran to him and hugged him, holding on tight.
