《Percy Jackson X Reader》Chapter 4

Percy stood up and walked over to you, his hands raised. You flinched, expecting to feel the pain on your cheek, but you didn't. You felt the weight of his hands on your shoulders.
You opened one eye, and then the other when it was clear that you were not going to be hurt. Percy was looking at you with concern. "You were running away, weren't you?" he pulled you in for a hug. You froze, not used to affection like this, but then you wrapped your arms around him and held on tight. "It's ok, you're safe now. It's ok. We won't take you back. It's ok." He was rocking you and the tears came, unbidden but not unneeded.
He pulled back and gave you a tissue. You wiped your eyes and buried your face in your hands. This was the first time you had felt safe in a long time. "I need you to answer this question. I know that you might think it's weird, but you never knew your dad, right?"
You raised your head and took a deep breath. Taking another sip of hot chocolate, you contemplated how to answer. Percy had practically saved you from freezing outside so it would be rude to lie and you didn't see any reason you should lie. Your hot chocolate had gone a bit cold, so you heated up your mug with your hands and then it hit you. You started to giggle. You could have used your fire to warm yourself up; but in the moment, you had totally forgotten.
"Sorry, just remembered something, but to answer your question. Yeah, I never knew my dad. My mom talked about him when I was younger before she married my useless stepfather. She said he was very handy with his hands and that even though he wasn't handsome in appearance, he was handsome in his heart. Something like that, but now she hardly talks to me unless I did something wrong..." You trailed off, remembering last night. You drank some more of your hot chocolate.

Percy sat next to you. "Has anything unexplainable or strange happened to you? Have you been blamed for things you didn't do?"
You raised your eyebrows. "Yeah..."
"Do you have ADHD and dyslexia?"
You scooted away from him, kind of freaked out now. "Yeah..."
"I think that we need to leave now. Come on, grab your things and I'll explain on the way." Percy got up and scribbled out a note on the counter. He grabbed a bag and then tossed a rain jacket to you. You caught, but didn't move to put it on.
"What do you mean?"
"If I tell you, they'll come quicker."
"Who?"
Percy grabbed your shoulders and you flinched. "Please, trust me. I'll tell you on the way, but we need to move now."
*Time skip*
You massaged your temples as you and Percy walked toward Long Island Sound. "So, let me get this straight. The Greek gods are real and my dad is one of them?"
"Yep, that pretty much covers it."
"Your dad is Poseidon."
"Yeah."
"Do you have a sword?" He nodded
"Here," Percy handed you a pen. "Uncap it." You looked at him strangely and then uncapped the pen. It grew into a three-foot-long wicked looking sword glowing with power.
"Whoa," You breathed as you swung the sword, testing it. It was perfectly balanced. "This is one cool sword. Perfectly balanced and everything." You handed it back to him.
"It's perfectly balanced for you too? Weird..." He capped the sword and put the pen back into his pocket.
*Time skip*
"Chiron, this is Y/N L/N." You stared at the centaur.
"Hello, Y/N."
"Hi," You were nervous, would these people be like every other adult and group you had ever met? Percy seemed comfortable here, so you decided to give this place a chance.

"Percy!" A blonde girl knocked you off your feet and she flung her arms around Percy. You stumbled to the ground. You were able to land on your side and then rolled to a sitting position. You took a deep breath. Memories flashed through your mind at top speed. Getting thrown to the ground, slaps across the face, bruises, Luke grabbing your neck, a sword to your throat. You started to rock yourself back and forth.
Percy patted the blonde girl's back until he saw you. He pulled out of her grip and approached you with hands slightly raised in a sign of surrender. "Hey, hey, it's ok." He hugged you and as the familiar warmth enveloped you, you relaxed. Taking a deep breath, you pulled back.
"Thanks." Percy stood up and you followed suit. Chiron cleared his throat.
"Percy, I need to talk to you. Annabeth, would you give Y/N a tour."
"Yes sir." The blonde girl forced a smile on her face and stuck her hand out. "Hi, Y/N, I'm Annabeth. Welcome to Camp Half-Blood." You shook her hand, gave Percy one last smile, and then followed Annabeth out of the Big House.
As soon as you were out of earshot, Annabeth's smile turned to a frown. "Why are you so close to him?"
You bit back your fear, "Why should it matter to you? Are you like his boyfriend or something because he never once mentioned you."
Annabeth glared at you, "For the record, he will be my boyfriend. And you never answered my question."
You shrunk under her glare. "He just helped me."
She huffed and gave you the quickest tour you had ever had. You had so many questions, but she didn't let you ask any of them. "This is Cabin Eleven, your home until you get claimed. Bye." She spun and left you in front of the rundown cabin. The door opened to show a boy with elfish features and a big smirk. Then, there seemed to be two of the boys.
"Hello, I'm Connor Stoll and this is my brother, Travis." You said a weak hello and you were ushered into the cabin. "That spot over there," Connor, or maybe it was Travis, pointed to a corner. "Will be your place to sleep until you're determined." You just flopped down in the corner, hugging your backpack. You rested your head against the wall and prayed that dinner would come soon.
Chiron passed in front of Percy in the Big House. "Percy, my boy, what happened to her?"
Percy sighed, "I actually don't know. I think her stepfather abused her along with her mom. The first time I reached out to get her to look at me, she flinched."
"Hopefully, she'll feel welcomed here. You may go."
Percy started to walk out the door before he turned back to Chiron. "One more thing, she tried out my sword and said that it was perfectly balanced for her. I thought it was only balanced for me; so, kinda weird, but it's probably nothing." Percy turned away and walked out of the door, not seeing how Chiron had reacted to the news.
"Well, this should be interesting."
