《Unleashed ↠ Elijah Mikaelson》20

Cassie woke up on the hardened mattress in the familiar territory. It took her a few blinks to adjust to the candle light and then she realised where she was.
"Clever" she rasped, still lying down and looking at the ceiling. She could feel Elijah's presence at the other side of the bars
"Might as well let this place go to good use, after all it is in a very convenient location" he replied smoothly
"So what? You are to leave me in here until I desecrate?" She asked, knowing he didn't properly have the heart to kill her
"I haven't decided that yet" Elijah said "I want to hear the truth first"
"Well I was about to tell you everything before your crazy sister snapped my neck" Cassie tilted her head to the side and cracked her neck "I just can't seem to get used to this immortality now"
"The truth, before I lose my temper" Elijah was desperate to know the truth, he just needed closure.
"Well, the truth is..." She walked over to the bars, her hand wrapping around one as she rested her head against the wall "I never lied to you as much as you think; I didn't physically say that Eloise was this creature, I didn't say I wasn't the creature..."
She had a fair point. She didn't say that she wasn't the creature, only lead them in directions that didn't reveal her true identity.
"I did lie when I said I refused the offer to be apart of the cult of witches though" She revealed "they came up to me, offered me something I couldn't refuse..."
Cassandra's mother had told her to wait here, in the middle of the bayou, somewhere secret. She was alone and her mother had gone to find her father and apparently some others. She said they had a surprise for her.
She turned and recognised the group of familiar faces walk towards her, her mother, father her family friends, the coven leader, all walking towards her.
"Is everything okay?" She asked as everyone's eyes were pinned to her. Dianne stepped forward, her feet dragging along the floor.
"We've been watching you for a while now, Cassandra" she began, it wasn't the best way to start the conversation, Cassie was kind of scared "you are a strong witch with an incredible power"
"My power isn't incredible, it's a burden on me and whoever lends me their power" Cassandra guessed that she was referring to her siphoning powers, everyone saw them as a God- given power but she saw them as a curse.
"Well, how about a little proposition for you?" Dianne asked "for we are the beginning of a group of witches, powerful ones that seek the annihilation of vampires and werewolves altogether, our goal is to be the dominant species, for the greater good of the universe"
Cassie's eyebrows knitted together, why didn't she know sooner? How come she didn't realise her family in this group?
"If you join us, we have a way to give you a permanent source of power, so you don't need to siphon again" she offered.
Cassandra jumped, her heart stopped at the prospect of being a normal witch, having power whenever she wanted. And all she had to do was say yes.

"They sought out members of the community that could be seen as outcasts, offering the prospect of normality, telling them that they can be fixed" Cassie described "9 out of 10 times it worked, Eloise could not do anything more than levitation, they fixed her, but I- well I was a little bit more of a challenge, because not only did they have to re-enact a very powerful spell, but they had to improve it, and I didn't know it yet, but I had enemies"
"Enemies?"
"You know the black haired girl from the other day?" Cassandra asked, making Elijah think back to when he saw her die and he didn't even know her name. "She was my sister ..."
The moon had risen in the sky, it gave a dim glow amongst the long blades of grass that Cassandra stood in between. She was stood in the middle of a circle of witches, they had all wanted to come and witness this miracle.
"All you have to do is stand here, Cassie" her mother reassured her, Samantha had a very soft smile, it always seemed to calm Cassandra's nerves, and right now she needed it. "Dianne will do all of the work"
"Anne" Dianne beckoned the black haired girl who was now recognised to be her sister "the book"
She brought over the leather bound book, their family name 'munroe' embossed in gold. Dianne took it and flicked through to the correct page, past the story of the coven leader and his thirst for power, who turned out to be a very early member of the Munroe family, past the spells that didn't work. And finally to the page where the spell they needed lay.
"I've adapted the spell to suit our needs, hopefully it will not turn out like the first time" she muttered, placing a jar of blood on the stone she used for a table "this is the blood of a witch, not a vampire like they had used before, this will not turn out the same, the outcome will be different"
"None of us were aware that when we weren't looking, this blood of the witch was swapped out with blood of a vampire, by Anne herself, my own sister" Cassandra dug deeper and gave Elijah a better understanding of what was going on "she always seemed to be jealous that people looked at me in awe because I was different, she wanted me to say no to being apart of this cult, she wanted to be the only defendant. But jealousy got the better of her"
The flames grew as Cassandra stood in the middle of the circle and listened to the incantations get louder. She outstretched her arms, ready for the surge of power to flow through her veins, her mind convincing herself that it would be a satisfying feeling. Her white dress flowed in synchronisation with the flames beneath the strong winds that had been caused by this specific spell.
But when the surge of power hit her, it wasn't relaxing, it wasn't satisfying, it wasn't natural like she was told it would be. It hurt, it felt like a dagger had pierced her stomach, throwing her back.
Cassie's bare feet managed to keep her balanced but she couldn't take it much longer. She fell to the floor, the grass staining the knees of her dress, blood dropped from her mouth, not in small amounts, there was enough to almost dye all of her dress red.

"Help" she screamed, but nobody helped. They didn't experience this spell before, they weren't sure of the outcome. But Cassie knew this wasn't right.
"When it was all over, I didn't have any more power than what I started off with" she shook her head "but I was left feeling cold, angry, I was left with this hunger I couldn't seem to get rid off"
"So you decided to drink the blood of a witch?" Elijah didn't even want to think about how she came to the conclusion.
"It's sad when you think about it; I was the innocent one" Cassie seethed "I was the good one, the one everyone loved; I couldn't come
To terms with it myself, it just happened too quickly"
Cassie needed time away. Her skin had turned pale, her lips were dry and chapped and she just couldn't seem to keep any food or water down. She was slowly starving to death. Nobody really could understand what happened that night, why she didn't get her powers, why she was now on deaths door.
"Are you okay?" A witch that Cassie had recognised before walked up to her, she then realised Cassie had walked into uncharted territory, with shunned witches.
"I know you" Cassie pointed out, before stumbling and having to grasp onto a tree to gain her balance
"Barely, I've been shunned for aiding the vampires, I've seen you around town but that's it" She replied
There was a moment where Cassandra just couldn't focus on anything else apart from the fresh sound the witch had on her arm. It was then she realised she wasn't so innocent anymore.
"My first feed, it was exhilarating, and sickening at the same time" Cassandra described "oh I was so angry with them for making me like this; but things got significantly worse when Dianne found me with my teeth in one of her favourite witch apprentices"
"They all called a meeting, with me locked in the other room; I could hear them arguing coed my fate. 'She needs to die' and 'let her live' blah blah blah" Cassandra relived everything, she didn't show it in her face but she was hurting, everything she remembered caused her pain "and they concluded that they were going to kill me, until my mother told them that not only could I feel on witches but I can feed on vampires; if they saved me as a weapon, I could help them defeat the vampires. So they locked me in this place"
Cassie pointed to the cell straight across from her current one. The cell with 'help' written in blood, the cell with indents in the walls were she had tried to scratch her way out. The one with the broken lock. "It would've been more sentimental to lock me in my old one, but I broke that lock clean off"
Elijah made a mental note, he had to re in force these locks, strengthen the bars and make sure she couldn't escape. He didn't want her seeking revenge, especially now she was a vampire. Drench the metal in vervain, anything would make a difference.
"And that's how this place is empty, I locked the doors and fed on every single soul in the place" Cassie began to laugh "you should've heard their screams"
"You're sick"
"No" she shouted, her hands gripping tighter to the bars, making Elijah jump "they were sick for what they did to me, and so I killed every last one of them, keeping souvenirs from each"
"You killed your parents, your sister, you killed your entire family" Elijah snapped, realising everything now.
"They had it coming" Cassandra retaliated "for what they did to me, I think I still have my mother's teeth in my top drawer, I took entertainment out of pulling them from her mouth one by one"
"How can you even live with yourself?"
"very easily, you see I abandoned all hope for my sanity as soon as I realised I couldn't stop myself from drinking blood" she informed him "I realised that power was above anything else, not even love"
"And enter Lord Elijah Mikaelson..." She carried on "I didn't pick you, I didn't even need to seek out a vampire but you were right at my doorstep asking for my help; I saw an opportunity to decrease suspicion of me from other creatures as well as built a rapport and get your blood"
"You planned everything, didn't you?" Elijah was hurt, definitely and mortifyingly hurt
"Yes but I didn't expect to contract feelings for you; I had to tell myself every night that it was going to end badly. I left you in the cell and disappeared because I knew I had the power to hurt you when I turned, I thought you might have fled before you got to see who I truly am"
"Well you were wrong, you lied to me all of this time, you let me fall for you"
"And you let me. But there is one thing about this world that I've leant the hard way, as I've said before, always choose power over love" Cassie urged "if I hadn't have chosen power, my mother would be alive and she would be plotting to kill me alongside the others, if I hadn't have chosen power I wouldn't have had the strength to defeat those who stood against me. Eloise was the only one to support me, until I killed more than she could handle, she sent you to me hoping you'd find out I was the killer and you would kill me"
"But you killed her instead you sly fox" Cassie smirked "thus ending my list of members that needed to die"
Elijah stared at the floor, he couldn't bare to look at her anymore. He couldn't see her in the same way
"Oh no" she pouted "am I not the innocent, vulnerable girl Elijah thought he knew? Well tough, I'm not your type, Elijah, I'm the villain in this story and we all know how it ends for villains"
She stood to her feet "kill me because I cannot bare to be in here anymore"
Elijah also stood to his "you don't deserve death" he spat. And that was his last words to her before he walked out.
"You can't lock me In here Elijah" she shouted, screaming the roof down, repeating it over and over again. "You'll need me one day"
But her words didn't persuade him. Elijah didn't look back, no goodbyes. He locked the door and knew that it would be the last of him seeing that girl.
Or was it?

Under a Boundless Sky
If you were to ask someone what they thought of Revian Snow, they would say that she's small. Cute too. Doesn't talk much. Average grades, and hard to find in a crowd, though you'd think that someone with her looks would be more noticeable. She also plays the popular VRMMO's for some reason, but doesn't like to interact with others too much, even online. In short, she doesn't stand out too much. She likes it that way—After all, it's much easier to keep a secret when nobody's looking for one. If you enjoy my work, please consider supporting me on Patreon. The Wolf Saga, Wolf that Devours Empires
The Empire of Human is about to enter a turbulent era. A World Power has fallen. But mere hours after dying, he is reborn as a half-human, half-elf boy named Wolf. The story follows this odd boy as he grows up, his relationship with his father and those around him, his lack of common sense from being raised in the wilderness, and his desire for revenge. Witness Wolf's journey as he aspires to climb to the peak of the world to unravel its mysteries, and as he tries to figure out why it’s wrong to decapitate a street thug when the man tries to mug you. “I mean, the man literally said ‘Money or life,’ so what’s the big deal?” Releases Mon/Wen/Fri. (GMT-ish) Trigger warning. The Wolf Saga may not be suited for you if any of the following disturbs you: - The story will have fighting and killing. The gore will not be explicit, but there will be descriptions such as "head burst like a melon", "instantly turned to cinders", "blood splashed/fountained" etc. Most of the violence will be performed by the protagonist, some of it before he reaches his teens. If such scenes bother you, you should probably give Wolf a pass. - The story will have sexual content. It's there for a reason. Once again, these scenes will not be explicit. Genitals will be mentioned sometimes, but never described in detail. Nude bodies will be described in passing, without too many specific details. If you're afraid of nipples, you should probably give Wolf a pass. - The story will have a decent amount of cursing. If you haven't given up by now, this is unlikely to bother you. Still, I believe I should forewarn you that a number of curse words will be making appearance from time to time. - The story will have no small amount of loss for the main character. If you enjoy novels in which everything is fine, the protagonist makes it at the last moment and saves the day... This is not such a story. Life happens. As a reader, I'm annoyed with heroes making it in the nick of time, so for the sake of fairness I used dice on a number of occasions, making do with the result. Sometimes it was anticlimactic, sometimes it was tragic and it led to the story you see before you. Dedication: This story is written for Tired Mom and Wolf, whose arrival the rest of the pack is eagerly awaiting. Thanks: I would like to thank Tired Mom for her proofreading and encouragement over the years. I would like to thank you, Dear Reader, for taking the time to read this big pile of words.

But who can erase what is already written! Destiny created man and Jodha's destiny was attached to the Mughal Empire. This is the story of Princess Jodha of Amber and her husband, the Emperor of Hindustan, Jalal-uddin Muhammad Akbar.~A LITTLE BACKDROP TO THE HISTORICAL ACCURACY OF THE STORY:*This story is fictional. Emperor Akbar did rule India from 1556 to 1605 but he did never marry a woman named Jodha. His first Rajput wife and mother of his heir was Harkha Bai from Amber. In eighteenth century, a British official messed her name up when he first mentioned her as Jodha and then the name became even more popular because of mainstream media. This story does not intend to hurt any religious sentiments, it uses the name Jodha however because common people today know of Emperor Akbar's chief Rajput wife as Jodha Bai*Highest Ranking#1 in Jodha - August 6, '21#1 in Akbar - October 16, '21#1 in 16th - October 16, '21#1 in Jalal - November 14, '21#1 in Mughal - November 14, '21#2 in India - November 14, '21#1 in Princess - December 17, '21#1 in Historical Fiction - December 22, '21#4 in Century - January 5, '22#1 in Empress - May 17, '22
