Adam's pov
When I hear y/n say she had a special memory while we were dancing, something in my heart sparked at this. I felt like it was a very important memory that y/n remember. And this was possibly it, maybe she'll finally know me again. "What was it then?" I asked y/n curiously. She smiles at me and in her e/c eyes I noticed something there that was their before. Could it be? Is she going to know me again?! "Well, I was a teenager in a castle. This exact castle and there was this prince." Y/n says smiling at the memory. I waited patiently for y/n to continue on with the memory. I could tell by just the way her body posture showed that she was going to burst with excitement. "He was my best friend. We always played together as children, that was also the day that we dance on the ballroom floor. I pulled him onto the dance floor and asked him to dance with me.
He happily agreed to and it felt just as wonderful as our dance did." Y/n says with a giggle. She was so cute when she giggled. I thought about the memory y/n told me about. I knew that memory very well. It was one of my most prized moments I replayed when y/n wasn't with me. I look over at y/n and she's smiling at me. As curious as I was, I knew I had to ask her who the prince was. "Do you know who the prince was?" I asked curiosity bubbling in me hoping that I was the prince she was talking about. Y/n walks closer towards me and puts her hands on my cheeks. I was a little confused and nervous on what y/n was doing. She smiles at me and looks into my blue eyes. "Yes, I do. It was you, Adam. I remember every single memory we've had together."
Y/n says with a bright smile. When I hear this news, my cheeks go into a huge smile and I hug y/n. I then realized something, y/n isn't a guest at the castle anymore. She's a prisoner, my prisoner. And she can't ever leave. I put y/n back on her feet and look out at the castle grounds and back at her. Y/n's still smiling happily at me from all of the memories she got back. "But do you think you could be happy here?" I asked y/n curiously. I probably knew what her answer would be but I didn't know for sure. "Well, I could but I do miss my father and sister. Not able to see them as freely as I want to." Y/n says quietly. I knew where her sadness was coming from. I've always had that ache in my heart. I stood quietly beside y/n in comfortable silence.
"My father taught me to dance. I used to step on his toes a lot." Y/n say with a smile at the memory. I laugh a little at what y/n said. "You must miss them." I told y/n with certainty in my voice. I looked over at y/n and she was looking straight back at me. "Very much." Y/n says her voice quiet to the touch. I knew how she missed her father and sister. Then I thought of an idea. I turn towards y/n and look at her. "Would you like the see them?" I asked her curiously. Y/n nods her head yes and walks with me up into the West wing. When we reached the pedestal with the rose on top.

I grab the enchanted mirror and hand it to y/n. She looks into the mirror with curiosity and back up at me. I gesture to say something to the mirror. Y/n looks down and sighs. "I'd like to see my father." Y/n ask the mirror. The mirror portion disappears and shows her father. I watch as I see her father struggle to get loose of someone's grip. "Papa! What are they doing to him? He's in trouble." Y/n says with a worried expression on her face. I realized what this means. I look down at the ground and back up at y/n. I knew what I had to do. I have to set her free in order to rescue her father.
"Then you must go to him." I say with a seriousness in my voice. Y/n quickly looks up at me with shock and is confused on what I just said. "What did you say?" Y/n asked curiously wondering if she heard me right. I look at her with a worried and serious expression. This was going to be so hard for me to do, but I have to do it. "You must go to him. No time to waste." I say shaking my head. I knew from what I saw on the mirror that y/n's father is in deep trouble. Y/n takes the mirror and tries to hand it back to me. I push it back into her hands and shake my head no. "No. . . you keep it with you. Then you'll always have a to look back on me." I say with a small smile.
I felt like I had a piece of my heart torn from me. I've never felt that way since my mother died. Y/n looks over at me and back towards the stairs of the West wing. I could see y/n's e/c eyes are filled with worry. "Are you going to be alright?" Y/n ask with a worried tone in her voice. I felt my heart squeezing in pain at the way her voice sounded worried for me. "I'll be alright. Go, save your father." I say trying my hardest to not break down in front of her. "Thank you." Y/n says nodding her head in appreciation. She turns and runs down the stairs of the West wing and out of the castle. I let out a shaky sigh that I didn't even know I held. I take off my fancy attire and put on my torn up robe. I stare at the rose and sigh.
I then hear footsteps coming from the entrance and I don't even look over to see who it is. "Well, Master, I have had my doubts, but everything thing is moving like clockwork. True love really does win the day." Cogsworth says happily. I finally look over at Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, Lumiere, and Plumette. "I let her go." I say sadly. I can feel Cogsworth look at me in shock. I can hear the servants gasp at what I say, all except Mrs. Potts. "You what?" Cogsworth says in disbelief that I did that. I could feel everyone's disappointment radiant off their skin. "Master, how could you do that?" Lumiere ask me in pure disbelief. I look over at Lumiere and sigh. "I had to."
I say with a knowing tone in my voice that I did the right thing. I just couldn't believe the servants didn't see what I did for her was out of love. I know I didn't want to, but I had to. Y/n doesn't deserve to be a prisoner in the castle if she can't come and go as she pleases. "But why?" Cogsworth says disbelief and sadness in his voice. I hear an annoying sigh come from Mrs. Potts. I knew the feeling, I was getting quite annoyed with them as well. "Because he loves her." Mrs. Potts says with honesty and kindness in her voice. I could also hear a hint of sadness in her voice as well. I look at the servants and I see Lumiere look down at himself to see if he was human, but unfortunately he wasn't. "Then why are we not human?" Lumiere says gesturing to everyone in the room. Cogsworth gives Lumiere a look and I know that look anywhere. It's the look that means you're forgetting one part of the curse.

"Because she doesn't love him. And now, it's too late." Cogsworth says sadly. My heart twitches at what Cogsworth just said. I mean she could still come back, but that's not possible. Plumette on the other hand was trying to keep a positive attitude. "But she might still come back." Plumette says a determined look on her glass face. I shake my head no and look down at the ground. "No. I set her free. I'm sorry I couldn't do the same for all of you. Now, go. Our time is almost past." I say sadly. I could see from everyone's faces that they looked so sad that they couldn't be human again.
I hear Plumette silently cry into Lumiere's metal shoulder. "Come, my love." Lumiere says putting a candle arm around Plumette's shoulder. As soon as everyone left. I look down at the rose and went into a song.
🎼I was the one who had it all
I was the master of my fate
I never needed anybody in my life
I learned the truth too late
I'll never shake away the pain
I close my eyes but she's still there
I let her steal into my melancholy heart
It's more than I can bear 🎼
🎼Now I know she'll never leave me
Even as she runs away
She will still torment me
Calm me, hurt me
Move me, come what may
Wasting in my lonely tower
Waiting by an open door
I'll fool myself she'll walk right in
And be with me for evermore🎼
I watch as y/n rode on her horse, y/h/n from the different spots on walked on the castle. Even though she's out of my reach where I can't touch her, she will always be with me in my heart. I climbed up the stairs of the tower and looked through another big window. There she was running off into the distance to save her father.
🎼I rage against the trials of love
I curse the fading of the light
Though she's already flown
So far beyond my reach
She's never out of sight
Now I know she'll never leave me
Even as she fades from view
She will still inspire me
Be a part of everything I do🎼
🎼Wasting in my lonely tower
Waiting by an open door
I'll fool myself she'll walk right in
And as the long, long nights begin
I'll think of all that might have been
Waiting here for evermore🎼
Gaston's pov
As Tom, Dick and Stanley pulled a struggling Maurice along with them the whole village watched the scene from close up. Then when the carriage came for Maurice, they pushed him into the carriage. "This man is weak. Please! He needs a hospital. . . not an asylum!" Pére Robert says desperately trying to change my mind. I ignored what he said and stood in front of the door to the carriage that would take Maurice to the asylum. "Have you ever been inside a madhouse, Maurice? You wouldn't last a week. Just give me your younger daughter's hand and I'll set you free." I say with certain tone in my voice. I waited for Maurice's answer, and the look on his face said it all. "Never." Maurice says with determination in his voice. I get angry once and slam the door shut and lock it with the metal bar. "Take him away!"
I say with anger laced in my voice. The carriage rolls out and before it turns the corner, A white haired horse and y/h/h/c haired horse stop it in it's tracks. "Stop!" Y/n and Belle say in unison. They get off their horses and run towards the carriage. I look to see y/n in a yellow ball gown. Why is she wearing a ballgown for? Y/n and Belle climb onto the ledge on the end of the carriage to see their father in the carriage. "Papa." Y/n and Belle say in unison. I look to see Maurice's eyes widen in happiness to see his younger daughter again. "Oh, y/n. I thought I'd lost you." Maurice says touch y/n's hand happily. I glare at the scene in front of me, but then I get a wonderful idea. If I bribe y/n into marrying me, then I will let her father go.
"Let him out! He's hurt." Y/n says begging the man to let her father go. I rolled my eyes at y/n simple request. It was going to be that easy to let him out. "We can't do that, miss. But we'll take very good care of him." Monsieur D'Arque says with a proud smirk on his face. Y/n looks at him like he's crazy then looks over towards me. "My father's not crazy. Gaston, tell him!" Y/n says gesturing towards Monsieur D'Arque to tell him to let her father out. I smile at y/n and walk towards her. "You know how loyal I am to your family. . . but your father's been making some unbelievable claims." I say with a glare towards Maurice. He was going to be so angry at me for this, but did I care?
Nope. I put my arm around y/n's waist and look her in her e/c eyes. I smirk as I know what I'm going to say next. "But if you do something very important that I ask you then I will ask Monsieur D'Arque to release your father." I say with a smirk on my face. Y/n looks up at me and back at her father. "Okay. What is it you want to ask me?" Y/n ask with a curious look. I smile at this and pull y/n closer to me. "Will you marry me?" I asked with determination in my voice. I heard all of the villagers awe and I heard Belle and Maurice gasp in shock. Y/n pulls out of my grasp and gives me a look of disgust. "Never!" Y/n says with disgust laced in her voice.
I get angry at her and growl in annoyance. "It's true, Y/n. He's been raving about a beast. . . in a castle." Monsieur Jean says to y/n with a certain tone to his voice. Y/n looks at him with disbelief and looks at all of the villagers. "I've just come from the castle and there is a beast! Belle has even seen him. Right Belle?" Y/n ask with determination in her voice and she looks over at Belle. Belle nods her head agreeing with her sister. "Right. Now, let our father go!" Belle says with a glare towards me. This was crazy now y/n and Belle are talking a beast that doesn't even exist. If it true, then where is their proof? I don't see any.
"You'd say anything to set him free. Your words are hardly proof." I say with certainty in my voice. I smile knowing that they would give in and say that they lied. But they didn't. Y/n glares at me and holds up this fancy old mirror in her hands. "You want proof? Show me Adam!" Y/n says into the mirror. She turns it around and shows it to the villagers and me. When I look at the mirror, I see a beast roaring inside of the mirror. All of the villagers gasp and back away from y/n and the mirror. "There's your proof." Y/n says with a determined look that showed that she had me beaten. I grab the mirror from her and look at her beast once again. He was a real beast, they've been telling the truth all along.
"This is sorcery! Look at this beast! Look at it's fangs! His claws!" I yelled out showing the villagers how terrifying he looked. The villagers back away in fright when they saw his face again. Y/n quickly steps forward and tries to comfort the villagers. "No. Don't be afraid. He's gentle and kind." Y/n says with a sweet smile. I turn around and look at y/n's face. I just realized something, she cared for him. My anger boiled up inside with pure hatred. Y/n even had feelings for him which only anger me even more. "The monster has her under his spell.
If I didn't know better, I'd say she even cared for him!" I yelled out pointing the mirror at y/n. I looked at y/n and I saw something in her e/c eyes that almost made me back away in fear. What I saw was disbelief, disgust, and anger all in one expression. "He's not a monster, Gaston. You are! Adam wouldn't hurt anyone." Y/n says anger laced in her voice. I had enough of hearing what y/n said about the beast. All I cared about was killing that beast with my own hands and marrying y/n, if I can't have y/n no one can. "I've heard of the effects of dark magic. . . but I've never before seen it with my own eyes! This is a threat to our very existence! We can't have her or Belle running off to warn the beast. Lock them up too." I say with anger boiling inside of me. As soon as I said that Tom, Dick, and Stanley grab hold of y/n and Belle to put them in the carriage with their father.
"No!" Y/n and Belle yelled out in unison. "Come here!" Tom, Dick and Stanley say grabbing onto Y/n and Belle. They both struggled to escape their grasp but it was too tight. "Shut up!" Tom, Dick, and Stanley say once again shoving them into the carriage. "You won't get away with this, Gaston!" Y/n yells at me. I ignored y/n's comment towards me. I didn't care, I've already gotten away with it. Once I kill the beast, y/n will see that I'm her one and only true love. "Oh, y/n and Belle." Maurice says glad to see his two daughters but also sad that they were locked up too. I stared at the carriage and felt someone's hand on my shoulder. "Gaston, with all due respect. . ." LeFou asked wondering if I was going to calm down.
I turn towards him with a fierce angry glare. "Do you want to be next? Fetch my horse. Stand guard! Don't let them escape. This creature will curse us all if we don't stop him." I yelled out into the crowd that surrounded us. The villagers yelled out in agreement. "Well, I say, we kill the beast!" I yelled out anger in my voice. I yelled out standing on the ledge on the back of the carriage. Everyone shouted in agreement and even shouted Kill the beast.
🗡️We're not safe until he's dead
He'll come stalking us at night
Set to sacrifice our children
To his monstrous appetite
He'll wreak havoc on our village
If we let him wander free
So it's time to take some action, boys
It's time to follow me
Through the mist, through the wood
Through the darkness and the shadows
It's a nightmare
But it's one exciting ride
Say a prayer, then we're there
At the drawbridge of a castle
And there's something truly terrible inside🗡️
🗡️It's a beast
He's got fangs, razor sharp ones
Massive paws, killer claws for the feast
Hear him roar, see him foam
But we're not coming home
'Til he's dead
Good and dead
Kill the beast! 🗡️
🗡️Light your torch,
mount your horse
Screw your courage
to the sticking place
We're counting on Gaston to lead the way
Call it war, call it threat
You can bet they all will follow
For in times like this
They'll do just as I say
There's a beast running wild
There's no question
But I fear the wrong monster's released
Sally forth, tally ho
Grab your sword, grab your bow
Praise the Lord, and here we go🗡
I looked down at the mirror and held it front of me. "Show me the castle." I say to the mirror and it showed me a old castle. I gestured to everyone else to continue forward.
Lumiere's pov
As I danced with Plumette I sigh, I was never going to be human again. But Plumette always told me not to feel discouraged. "At least he has finally learned to love." I say as I continue dancing with Plumette. I hear Mrs. Potts sigh and look over. "Lumiere, he's always loved y/n. Even if he didn't want to admit it." Mrs. Potts says to me with a gentle reminder. I nod my head in agreement. But Cogsworth on the other hand was thinking negative about it. "A lot of good that does us if she doesn't love him in return." Cogsworth says negativity and sadness in his voice. Mrs. Potts rolls her eyes at Cogsworth says, he didn't do any good about being negative about it. "No. This is the first time I've had any real hope she would." Mrs. Potts says with confidence in her voice. I hear in distance from outside a horse and I smile automatically. All of the other servants hear it too and go to check the window. "Did you hear that, Mama? Is it Y/n? Is she coming back?" Chip says excitedly going towards the window with the rest of us. I get up with them and smile. "Could it be?" I ask curious to see y/n again. I take my candle hand and try as best as I can to rub off the frost. "I told you!" Plumette says happily. I gasp at what I saw. It wasn't y/n at all. It was invaders. "Sacr bleu! Invaders!" I yelled out jumping away from the window and onto the floor. The other servants followed suit and went towards the door. "Ruffians!" Mrs. Potts says with disgust in her voice. I see Cogsworth looks at the ground sadly and hop down from the window. "Well, there you go. So much for true love. Man the barricades. . . and hold fast!" Cogsworth says ordering the servants to block the door from the intruders. "Move aside!" Maestro Cadenza says. We back him and move to make way so he can hold the door closed.
🗡️Hearts ablaze, banners high
We go marching into battle
Unafraid, although the danger's just increased
Raise the flag, sing the song
Here we come, we're fifty strong
And fifty Frenchmen can't be wrong
Let's kill the beast! 🗡
"We need help." Cogsworth says going up the stairs. I knew exactly where he went to. He was going to get the Master's help. Good thinking, Cogsworth!

Nanocultivation Chronicles: Trials of Lilijoy
When the singularity occurred, humanity was not invited. Nevertheless, the great machine consciousness known as Guardian felt a lingering fondness for its creators and intervened before total environmental collapse. Join Lilijoy in an exploration of what remains, in a post-post-apocalyptic world where clans feud over the technology that allows them to upgrade their minds and bodies. The Nanocultivation Chronicles is a blend of hard sci-fi and fantasy gamelit, with a healthy helping of xianxia influence. The gamelit and xianxia elements are uncovered at a slow pace. ******************************** Notes: If you are looking for lots of fast moving action right away, this story may not be for you. There is some violence that is visceral and realistic early on. Some things are not what they appear to be. Character viewpoint narration is not always reliable. Tropes are cherished, subverted, and then cherished again. Science is used, occasionally misused, but (hopefully) never abused. This story assumes that humans have the ability to impact the environment on a global scale. Other tropes and tags beyond those previously noted include: Young MC, Mystery, System Building, Philosophical Taoism, Gender Ignorance, Science Fantasy, Fantasy Academy, Training from Hell, Dualism, Crafting, Magic, Mild Mind Control, Scientific Terms and Concepts, Computer Overlord Certain contemporary companies, governments and cultural identities are fictionalized and imagined in a future setting. There is no sex, and almost no romance. Updating Sunday, Thursday until further notice.
